Sat Oct 20 2012 | 03:11 | Jimmer scores 14 points off the bench |
Jimmer Fredette scored 14 points off the bench in Friday's win, hitting 5-of-9 shots (including two threes) to go with two rebounds in 23 minutes. |
Jimmer has slowly built up his confidence to the point in which he's not playing scared, but he still gets what's blocked for him to borrow a football term when it comes to driving the paint. Relentlessly attacked on defense and ineffective in terms of running an offense, he'd really benefit from a designated shooter role rather than a face-saving role for Kings management. |

Wed Oct 17 2012 | 17:14 | Kings pick up team option for Jimmer Fredette |
The Kings have exercised their $2.4 million third-year team option for Jimmer Fredette. |
Jimmer had a rough rookie season and never found a balance between scoring and playmaking, but the Kings are encouraging him to play looser, and he's said repeatedly that his confidence has returned. His 3-point shooting gives him some intrigue in deep leagues, but he's hands-off in standard formats. |

Thu Oct 11 2012 | 13:04 | Jimmer Fredette having great training camp |
Several Kings veterans are praising Jimmer Fredette, saying he's been the best player in this year's training camp. |
The problem is that the Kings are so deep at guard. With Isaiah Thomas and Tyreke Evans slated to start, and Marcus Thornton coming off the bench, Fredette looks locked into a back up point guard job, at best. Aaron Brooks and John Salmons are also on the bench, which means that a good player is going to have to sit for Fredette to play. But if he is as good as advertised, he'll likely be worthy of a late-round flier in most leagues. |

Fri Oct 5 2012 | 10:22 | Smart praises Fredette's vocality in practice |
Keith Smart praised Jimmer Fredette for being more vocal than he was last season. |
"Jimmer is much more vocal than he was last year," Smart said. "Again, being comfortable with some of the guys around him, being comfortable with what I want him to do." Fredette is going to have to show dramatic improvement from his rookie season to be a consistent member of the rotation this year. |

Thu Sep 20 2012 | 10:25 | Jimmer Fredette now mentally prepared for NBA |
Jimmer Fredette said that he's "mentally" more prepared for the NBA entering his sophomore season. |
Fredette has worked "extensively" on both ends of the floor and has "worked to create space and get his shot off quicker," in addition to working on his pick-and-roll game. Jimmer is working on everything as he looks to secure a spot in the Kings rotation, but he's going to have to show a lot more than he did in his rookie season to earn that role. |

Fri Aug 24 2012 | 10:12 | Jimmer Fredette to Thunder rumor shot down |
Beat writer Royce Young dismissed the rumor of the Thunder being interested in Jimmer Fredette. |
"I wouldn't take it that seriously," Young tweeted. Sam Amico, who was the one responsible for starting the rumor, is known to have a spotty track record when it comes to these types of "rumors." The Kings may be entertaining the thought of moving Fredette eventually, but it doesn't look like it will be to Oklahoma City. |

Mon Aug 20 2012 | 09:00 | Report: Thunder interested in Jimmer Fredette |
The Thunder "would love to pry" Jimmer Fredette from the Kings, according to Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio. |
Amico's track record is spotty on rumors, but we've heard Fredette's name on the trade block previously, and shopping him may make some sense with the glut of guard depth the Kings currently have on the roster. We don't think Sacramento will simply give him away as he was the No. 10 overall pick in 2011, but a change of scenery may be the best option for Fredette to enjoy a successful NBA career. |

Sat Aug 11 2012 | 20:26 | Jimmer to have 'scoring mentality' in 2012-13 |
Jimmer Fredette intends to have a "scoring mentality" next season. |
"We haven't necessarily seen [what I can do]," he said. "It's going to just be my scoring mentality ... going out there and being aggressive and shooting the basketball and being fearless. That's something that I've always done, and that's going to be my niche in this league." Jimmer averaged 7.6 points in 19 minutes per game last season -- he made 36.1 percent of his 3-pointers, but just 38.6 percent of his FGs overall. |

Thu Jul 19 2012 | 09:33 | Jimmer Fredette needs to move the ball |
Kings summer league co-head coach Alex English said he wants to see Jimmer Fredette "move the ball more." |
When he gets in trouble, if it's not there, you've got to move the ball," said English. "Sometimes you have to move the ball before the trouble happens." Fredette needs to work on not dribbling into trouble and trapping himself, and the pressure is on him to improve now that the team has brought in Aaron Brooks in free agency. |

Wed Apr 11 2012 | 06:45 | Jimmer Fredette carving out role in rotation |
Keith Smart said that Jimmer Fredette will remain in the rotation. |
Even with Marcus Thornton (calf) back in the lineup, Fredette has earned a role. Keith Smart has been pleased with Fredette's progress, who has scored 40 points over his last three games. His minutes have fluctuated heavily during that span of time, but owners in deeper leagues should take notice of his production. |

Tue Apr 10 2012 | 23:26 | Jimmer Fedette carving out role |
Jimmer Fredette played 21 minutes off the bench on Tuesday and had 13 points, including 3-of-7 from deep, and two steals as the Kings lost to the Mavericks. |
Fredette is quietly averaging 13 points per game over his last three and could be worth a speculative add for those in need of 3-pointers. His minutes may be erratic but with the regular season coming to a close, the Kings may want to give Fredette some quality playing time. |

Sun Apr 8 2012 | 23:53 | Jimmer plays well in start at shooting guard |
Jimmer Fredette drew a start at shooting guard on Sunday and had 17 points, four assists and three 3-pointers on 7-of-15 shooting. |
Marcus Thornton, Francisco Garcia and John Salmons were all out for the Kings, but Fredette had been coming off the bench. He looked good tonight, but is still a very risky fantasy play, especially with Terrence Williams playing well, and with Marcus Thornton due back soon from his calf injury. |

Tue Apr 3 2012 | 06:55 | Jimmer Fredette finding rhythm on floor? |
Jimmer Fredette said he found his rhythm after scoring 19 points (three treys) in 25 minutes on Monday. |
"I just got into a rhythm, and guys were finding me," Fredette said. "It felt pretty good (Monday), and hopefully it continues." Fredette saw an increased role with Marcus Thornton (thigh) knocked out of the game, and the 25 minutes of playing time could be a good estimation of what to expect from him if Thornton is forced to miss extended time. Expectations should be tempered, and we'd like to see him do it more consistently before hitting the waiver wire to grab him. |

Tue Apr 3 2012 | 02:36 | Jimmer scores 19 off the bench vs. Wolves |
Jimmer Fredette scored 19 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 7-of-15 shots (including three treys) with two rebounds and a steal in 25 minutes. |
If we could recommend one thing to owners, it would be to try to disregard everything you've seen from Jimmer this year. His integration into the team was a disaster, and while Jimmer clearly didn't have the game to hang early he really was dead on arrival. As long as he can develop a penetrating floater, improve his handles, and most importantly his defense he'll have a shot to live up to some of the expectations. |

Thu Mar 8 2012 | 02:40 | Jimmer Fredette plays 28 minutes in win |
Jimmer Fredette played 28 minutes off the bench on Wednesday and had 11 points, five assists and a 3-pointer. |
Jimmer's minutes and production have been like roller coaster all season, and he saw extram minutes tonight, as Keith Smart didn't trust Isaiah Thomas (17 minutes) against Jarrett Jack, who he deemed a "powerful point guard." Thomas is still the starter and Fredette will continue to be inconsistent as long as he's coming off the bench for the Kings. |

Tue Feb 21 2012 | 23:16 | Jimmer Fredette gets DNP on Tuesday |
Jimmer Fredette was a DNP-CD on Tuesday. |
The emergence of Isaiah Thomas, the final pick in last year's draft, Fredette's potential for fantasy value has been ruined. If you're holding him, it's time to move on. |

Thu Feb 16 2012 | 02:45 | Fredette (illness) returns to action on Wed |
Jimmer Fredette (illness) returned to action on Wednesday, scoring eight points on 2-of-5 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 25 minutes off the bench. |
Whether it's entirely his fault is debatable, but Fredette is officially a 3-point shooter off the bench and nothing more this season. If he gets hot, and perhaps gets some help with injuries, he could be worth a look for his triples. Otherwise, he's waiver wire material. |

Wed Feb 15 2012 | 10:58 | Jimmer Fredette expects to play on Wednesday |
Jimmer Fredette (stomach illness) is expected to play on Wednesday against the Knicks. |
Fredette chalked up his sickness as food poisoning but said he was feeling better on Tuesday night and expected to play Wednesday. With Marcus Thornton and Tyreke Evans both healthy, Fredette is not a fantasy option in standard sized leagues. |

Wed Feb 15 2012 | 00:17 | Jimmer Fredette sits with stomach ailment |
Jimmer Fredette missed Tuesday's game due to a stomach illness. |
He doesn't hold much fantasy value as long as Tyreke Evans and Marcus Thornton are healthy, and both guards posted monster lines tonight in Fredette's absence. |
