Philadelphia 76ers guard Pierre Jackson was waived by the team on Monday, according to Calkins Media. Jackson is a player the 76ers like -- they both drafted him and brought him back after parting ways in 2014 -- but a training camp groin injury prevented him from making a real run at a spot on the Opening Night roster. |

Jackson was held out of training camp practices along with Tuesday's preseason opener against the Wizards due to injury. Jackson (groin) will miss Tuesday's preseason opener against the Wizards, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. |
Jackson has been bothered since the summer by the injury, and will need more time off to heal up. He's one of four point guards that will be on the bench with injuries Tuesday, leaving Isaiah Canaan and Scottie Wilbekin as the only healthy players capable of running the offense. |

Jackson is being held out of Sixers training camp practices due to a groin injury, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. |
Jackson sustained the groin ailment during the summer and apparently hasn't fully recovered quite yet. While the setback isn't a major one, it's not a welcome development after Jackson missed his entire rookie season after tearing his right Achilles in the 2014 Orlando Summer League. Jackson has since gotten over that injury, but any further nicks in training camp may derail his chances of claiming a roster spot. When healthy, the 5-foot-10 Jackson brings plenty of scoring ability to the table, though his bad luck on the health front during his brief NBA career has left him unable to showcase those skills. |

Jackson signed with the 76ers, he announced on Instagram. |
Jackson has been playing on the 76ers' summer league team and dealing with an Achilles injury this past week. On Saturday, he scored 15 points and added two rebounds and an assist. Jackson missed all of last season with the Achilles injury, but his recovery seems to be going well where he should be fully healthy for opening night. |

Jackson (Achilles) started and provided 15 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, and one assist in 27 minutes on Saturday against the Lakers' summer league team. |
Jackson missed an entire season after rupturing his right Achilles during the first game of the 2014 Orlando Pro Summer League. He's an undersized scorer with an opportunity of making the Sixers' opening night roster given their lack of point guard depth. |

Jackson (Achilles) did not participate in practice Wednesday but was able to shoot around afterwards. Jackson is hopeful to play when the Vegas League starts up Saturday, Tom Moore reports. |
After suffering a devastating Achilles injury last summer, it is apparent Jackson is still working his way back to 100 percent. He's only signed on with the Sixers' summer league team and if he cannot get healthy in time for the Vegas League, it could seriously hurt his chances of snagging a roster spot for the upcoming season. |
Mon Jun 29 2015 | 18:14 | Jackson will be member of 76ers' summer league roster |
Jackson will be a member of the 76ers' summer league roster, Yahoo! Sports' Marc Spears reports. |
Jackson missed all of last season after tearing his Achilles during the 2014 Orlando Summer League. Cleared for full basketball activity in April, Jackson is back at full strength, and the high-scoring guard will look to parlay the summer league invite into a roster spot come training camp. |
Mon Apr 13 2015 | 22:22 | Jackson cleared for all basketball activities |
Jackson has been cleared for all basketball activities, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports. |
Jackson, a high-scoring guard from Baylor, tore up the D-League last season and was on track to find his way onto an NBA roster this season. However, he tore his Achilles playing for the Sixers' summer league team and was forced to sit out the year. He'll continue to work back into game shape in hopes of earning another chance this offseason. He figures to gather plenty of interest as a summer league add. |
Tue Sep 30 2014 | 17:37 | Jackson waived by Sixers on Tuesday |
Jackson was waived by the Sixers on Tuesday, ESPN's Marc Stein reports. |
He tore his Achilles in Orlando summer league, and will likely miss the season, so it's not surprising the team chose to open up the roster spot for a healthy body. |
Thu Jul 24 2014 | 16:35 | 76ers sign Pierre Jackson to 1-year deal |
The 76ers have signed point guard Pierre Jackson to a one-year, partially guaranteed deal. |
He suffered a torn achilles on July 5th and is likely out for the regular season. Jackson has shown promise in his stints in the D-League, but his future in the NBA is now in doubt. It is a positive sign however, that the 76ers are willing to give Jackson a partially guaranteed deal despite his significant injury. |

Pierre Jackson suffered a torn right Achilles on Saturday. |
It didn't take long to confirm and sadly it sounds like it was a complete rupture. Jackson was acquired by the Sixers on draft day in exchange for Russ Smith and he probably would have been in the rotation, but he's likely going to be out for the season. He scored 58 points in a D-League game last year and it's unfortunate we'll have to wait a while to see him in the NBA. |

Sat Jul 5 2014 | 13:44 | Pierre Jackson suffers ugly foot injury |
Pierre Jackson left Saturday's game with a possible Achilles injury. |
It did not look good. Jackson needed to be carried off the court by his teammates and could not put any weight on his foot whatsoever. The team will likely give him an MRI in the coming days, but it sounds like he could be out for a while. |

Fri Jun 27 2014 | 19:44 | Pierre Jackson for Russ Smith deal is done |
The NBA announced the 76ers have traded away the draft rights to Russ Smith to the Pelicans for Pierre Jackson. |
Pelicans general manager Dell Demps wouldn't comment on the trade and said it wasn't a done deal, so this is your official notification. Jackson can fill it up and even put up a 58-point effort in the D-League last year. If he gets 24 minutes somehow, he could have a high enough usage rate to be a factor in standard leagues. |

Thu Jun 26 2014 | 23:40 | Pierre Jackson to the Sixers for Russ Smith |
Pierre Jackson will be traded to the Sixers in exchange for No. 47 pick Russ Smith, who was selected by the Hornets. |
Jackson had a poor man's cult following after his 58-point outing in the D-League last year, and now he'll get a chance to cut his teeth in Philly where depth is still an issue. We'll have to see and hear a bit more before putting him on the radar in any normally sized league. |

Mon Jun 2 2014 | 13:00 | Pierre Jackson set to go to summer league |
Pierre Jackson will participate in summer league in July and has been working out with the Pelicans at the team's voluntary workouts. |
He was outstanding in the D-League last year, highlighted by a 58-point game. Jackson is a bit undersized at 5'10", but there's a good chance he'll be up with the Pelicans at some point this upcoming season. Plus, he should be a treat to watch at summer league. |

Wed Feb 19 2014 | 22:01 | Pierre Jackson pulled from D-League game |
Pierre Jackson has been asked to be excused from Wednesday's D-League game on a chance a trade comes through for him, according to Yahoo! Sports. |
He's destroying the D-League this season and has a 58-point game on his resume. Jackson is a dynamite scorer and has drawn some comparisons to Nate Robinson for his small stature and freakish athleticism. Owners in deep leagues might want to just take a flier on him on the off chance he winds up in a great situation. As a reminder, the Pelicans own his draft rights, but never signed him. Several NBA teams are interested. |

Sat Feb 15 2014 | 15:39 | Nuggets, Cavs eye D-League PG Pierre Jackson |
The Nuggets and Cavaliers are both interested in trading with the Pelicans for D-League guard Pierre Jackson. |
The Pelicans have thus far "not been approached with a deal to their liking," according to CSNNW.com, and may instead call him up to the NBA before the end of the season. It's no surprise that Jackson is drawing interest during a terrific season with the Idaho Stampede, where he's averaging 29.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists. |

Mon Jan 6 2014 | 17:42 | Pierre Jackson has permission to seek trade |
Pierre Jackson has permission to seek a trade from the Pelicans. |
The Pelicans have his draft rights, but they don't have a need for a point guard. Jackson is tearing it up in the D-League with a league-high 29.9 points per game to go with 3.2 triples per game, so some team might give him a shot. |
