Tue Jun 14 201115:08Dallas, Miami avoid suspensions from NBA
The NBA has decided not to suspend any players from Dallas or Miami as a result of the Game 6 altercation.
The game briefly stopped when DeShawn Stevenson, Udonis Haslem and Mario Chalmers got into a brief scuffle at mid-court, but apparently the league didn't see anything to warrant any suspensions.

Mon Jun 13 201113:41Stevenson delivers final message to LeBron
After the Dallas Mavericks captured the 2011 NBA championship on Sunday night, DeShawn Stevenson put on a T-Shirt that read, "Hey LeBron! How's My Dirk Taste?"
Stevenson has been adding serious intrigue to the Miami vs. Dallas story line throughout the postseason, but this one may be the best yet. Follow the link to see a picture of Stevenson rocking the t-shirt proudly, and it's probably only a matter of time until he and Soulja Boy team up in the offseason.

Sat Jun 11 201116:35DeShawn Stevenson denies dissing LeBron
DeShawn Stevenson denied writing anything about LeBron James on Facebook, or even knowing how to use the site.
"There's like 37 people that are acting like me on Facebook," Stevenson said. "I mean, if you look at me and look at all these tattoos, do you think I'd be sitting on the Internet and typing?" Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle was upset with Stevenson due to reports that he'd been taunting LeBron via the internet -- with two games left in the Finals, the time for off-court silliness is over.

Sat Jun 11 201110:26DeShawn Stevenson takes a shot at LeBron
DeShawn Stevenson wrote another inflammatory Tweet about LeBron James on Saturday morning -- "I told em Lebron is Overrated but did they listen? swag."
Stevenson continues to prod LeBron (also saying he 'checked out' during the end of Game 4), and so far he's getting away with it. The stakes can't get any higher at this point, so this shouldn't have any effect on the competition during Game 6.

Thu Jun 9 201121:20DeShawn Stevenson has knee drained
DeShawn Stevenson had his knee drained between Games 4 & 5, meaning he's not likely to play on Thursday.
He hit a lot of key 3-pointers and played solid defense on LeBron James in Game 4, so this is a big loss for the Mavs.

Wed Jun 8 201115:59Stevenson says LeBron 'checked out' in Game 4
DeShawn Stevenson said after practice on Wednesday that LeBron James "checked out" during the closing minutes of Game 4 on Tuesday.
He may be correct, but it's still amusing to hear these comments coming from Stevenson given his foolish late foul on a jump-shooting Chris Bosh. Nevertheless, it's enjoyable to see another feud brewing between LeBron and DeShawn. Stevenson, who scored 11 points in Game 4, is averaging 7.3 points per game for the series.

Tue May 31 201114:51Nowitzki, Kidd lobbied for DeShawn in lineup
Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd were the lobbyists behind DeShawn Stevenson's remaining in the starting lineup.
Jason Terry reportedly also went to bat for his teammate, and it's looked like a pretty good move after he shut down Kobe Bryant, caused problems for Russell Westbrook and will now take his best shot at defending Dwyane Wade. Despite the fact that he does almost nothing offensively, Stevenson's role has proven to be a critical one in the Mavericks surging to the Finals.

Tue May 17 201113:09Stevenson to start on Westbrook
The Mavericks will start with DeShawn Stevenson on Russell Westbrook in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
The offensively inept Stevenson continues to be viewed as the Mavs' defensive stopper on the perimeter. After matching up with Kobe Bryant at the outset of the last round's game, he'll try to keep Westbrook in front of him. Regardless, Stevenson only projects to play about 13 minutes per game. Jason Kidd will start on Thabo Sefolosha.

Wed May 4 201111:43Stevenson not losing starting gig
DeShawn Stevenson will continue to start at shooting guard in Game 2 despite inept play.
Corey Brewer came on in Game 1 and sparked the Mavs with excellent defense and shot-making. Stevenson has been a liability due to shot selection and his lack of size on Kobe Bryant. Still, coach Rick Carlisle is sticking with his standard lineup tonight. Stevenson will be on a short leash.

Thu Apr 14 201110:54Stevenson to start for Mavs in playoffs
The Mavs are expected to start DeShawn Stevenson over Rodrigue Beaubois at shooting guard in the playoffs.
Even if Beaubois' sprained foot ends up being OK, coach Rick Carlisle is turned to his veteran. Beaubois has simply struggled, getting in consistent foul trouble and failing to make open shots. Stevenson provides a tougher, more defensive option in the starting five. It's a step back for Roddy B's development.

Sat Apr 2 201122:37Stevenson to start on Saturday vs. GSW
DeShawn Stevenson started Saturday's game against the Warriors for matchup purposes, pushing Shawn Marion to the bench.
This will be Marion's second straight game coming off the bench, but this doesn't necessarily mean that he has been moved to the second unit. And since a frenetic pace with lots of long-flying rebounds is Marion's specialty, we wouldn't discount him much (if at all) for this game. Stevenson, as usual, is not a fantasy option.

Wed Jan 19 201121:07Stevenson, not Marion, starting for Mavs
DeShawn Stevenson and Sasha Pavlovic will start for the Mavericks on Wednesday, pushing Shawn Marion to the bench against the Lakers.
It doesn't sound like Marion is hurt, and the Mavs may be trying to keep him out of foul trouble so he'll be around in the fourth quarter against Kobe Bryant. Then again, the Mavs stink right now, and Rick Carlisle is likely trying some non-verbal motivation. While Marion's owners should be concerned, we doubt this is more than a one-game thing.

Sun Jan 16 201102:44Stevenson held scoreless on Saturday
DeShawn Stevenson wrote his fantasy obituary on Saturday, missing all five shot attempts with just one assist to speak of in 21 minutes.
It was real, it was fun, but it wasn't real fun and now it's done. He is now back to being the same guy he has been for the past couple of years, which needless to say has no fantasy value.
Sat Jan 15 201100:25DeShawn Stevenson cools off Friday
DeShawn Stevenson hit just 1-of-5 shots for three points in 26 minutes on Friday.
He had scored between 10 and 24 points in his last five games, but wasn't feeling it tonight. Jose Juan Barea had 13 points, five dimes and two threes off the bench, but our guess is Stevenson will continue to start.
Sat Jan 8 201123:17DeShawn continues barrage, draining six 3s
DeShawn Stevenson's hot shooting continued on Saturday, as he drained 6-of-9 three-pointers to finish with 24 points, one rebound, and two assists in 35 minutes.
Stevenson is shooting 47% from downtown this season, which is a bizarre leap from his 3-point averages the past two seasons (23% and 27%). It's fine to ride the hot hand, but if nothing else his attempts should get pinched once Dirk Nowitzki returns.
Thu Jan 6 201122:56Stevenson continues scoring streak
DeShawn Stevenson scored 14 points on Thursday to run his double-figures streak to three games. He added four 3's and four rebounds.
His hot streak began when Caron Butler went down, and he has made 13 threes in his last three games. We'll see how the return of Dirk Nowitzki affects him, but for now he can be owned.
Thu Jan 6 201110:04DeShawn Stevenson shooting the rock well
DeShawn Stevenson's 46.3 3-point field goal percentage is fourth in the NBA.
Stevenson shoots 34.7 percent from the land of trey for his career, so we wouldn't expect his current rate to continue. But considering how depleted the Mavs are, he's going to keep jacking up shots. Stevenson has attempted 29 3-pointers in his last three games. He's a 3-point specialist worth taking a flier on for now.

Tue Jan 4 201123:52Stevenson scores 18 points with Dirk out
DeShawn Stevenson started at small forward with Caron Butler (knee) out for the year and Dirk Nowitzki (knee) also out on Tuesday, and scored 18 points on 5-of-12 shooting (including four threes) with three rebounds, two assists, and no steals or blocks in 34 minutes of action.
This follows a season-high 21 points on Sunday, but when Dirk gets back and some of the younger talent like Dominique Jones and Roddy Beaubois (eventually) begins to take over -- Stevenson is going to look like a poor man's J.J. Redick, if that. Give him a look if you need threes but that's about it.
Tue Jan 4 201120:40Stevenson, Terry to start on Tuesday
DeShawn Stevenson started along with Jason Terry on Tuesday in wake of Caron Butler's season-ending knee injury.
Stevenson scored a season-high 21 points on Sunday, including five 3-point shots, but we're pretty skeptical about his fantasy value. If anything, he will carry value for a short while before giving way to younger talents Dominique Jones and Roddy Beaubois. Either way, the situation is worth watching while things are fluid.

Sun Jan 2 201121:45Stevenson scores season-high 21 for Mavs
DeShawn Stevenson set a new season-high with 21 points on Sunday, going 6-of-13 from the field with five 3s, three rebounds, four assists, and one block.
Stevenson might be worth stashing on your bench, but the odds of his duplicating this performance are not good at all. He shot 28% from the field in 2009-10 last year, and just 31% the year before, and has never been a good source of rebounds, assists, steals, or blocks. But with Roddy Beaubois still not close to returning, he's worth watching very closely.
