DeShawn Stevenson (knee) "thinks" he will play on Friday.
Stevenson was listed as questionable coming in, and he'll test out his knee before tipoff against the Suns. Anthony Morrow has been red hot since Stevenson has been out and should draw the start over Stevenson even if he's active.

DeShawn Stevenson (knee) is questionable for Friday's game against the Suns.
Stevenson will likely try to get his balky knee loose in warmups. Either way, he's unlikely to start over a piping hot Anthony Morrow at shooting guard.

DeShawn Stevenson (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game.
Stevenson was a late scratch prior to Monday's game and didn't practice on Tuesday. He's dealt with this issue over recent years and will look to nip it in the bud before it becomes a long-term concern.

Mon Jan 9 201219:21Stevenson a late scratch with a sore knee
DeShawn Stevenson was a late scratch for Monday's game due to a sore knee.
This sounds like the knee issue Stevenson has dealt with over the years and steals any recent momentum he may have created as a 3-point shooter. If he continues to start after Damion James (foot) gets back, give him a look.

Fri Jan 6 201222:09Stevenson scores 15 points on Friday
DeShawn Stevenson started for injured Damion James (foot) on Friday, scoring 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting (5-of-12 from downtown) with four rebounds, one assist, and a steal in 33 minutes.
Give him a look as a spot-starter for his 3-point shooting, assuming James is out for Saturday's game against the Heat. There's some other guy named James that plays small forward in Miami, which is setting up to be must-see TV if Stevenson gets another start.

DeShawn Stevenson went 0-for-4 from the field in Tuesday's blowout loss, scoring two points on free throws with two rebounds and one assist in 12 minutes off the bench.
It's a hard knock life not being wanted in Dallas, but Stevenson will look to make-do in Jersey amongst the Avery Johnson inspired chaos. Stevenson will not have any fantasy value, but he'll likely entertain us.

Wed Dec 21 201111:16Report: Nets talking with DeShawn Stevenson
DeShawn Stevenson is said to be in "serious conversations" with the Nets.
It's a mild surprise that Stevenson hasn't yet signed, but it should be forthcoming very soon. Stevenson would serve to bring some defensive intensity to the second unit, but wouldn't offer much in the way of fantasy value.

Tue Nov 22 201117:28Stevenson rips Hunter, predicts no season
DeShawn Stevenson is not happy with Billy Hunter, nor does he believe the NBA will have a season this year.
"For me, personally, I don't think there will be a season," he said. "Right now there is just a lot of bad blood and [the owners] keep putting offers out that we're rejecting. So we're not going anywhere...I felt like we should have decertified in July," Stevenson said. "I feel like Billy Hunter is doing a horrible job because basically now [the owners] know our hand." He should probably be just as upset with his player rep (Jason Terry), but he's also not alone with his anger with Hunter. Here's to hoping he's wrong about this season.

Thu Sep 22 201107:35Jason Terry wants Dallas to re-sign Stevenson
Jason Terry wants the Dallas Mavericks to re-sign DeShawn Stevenson.
After the Mavs traded for Fernandez, it was expected that the team wouldn't retain Stevenson. However, Terry feels that would be a mistake. "DeShawn just has `it.' Whatever that is, it's special and I'm a guy that's fighting for him to be back with the Mavericks." Stevenson could wind up back with the Mavericks, but the team didn't show an interest in extending him prior to the lockout.

With the arrival of Rudy Fernandez, Stevenson's time with the Mavs is almost certainly done. The defensive stopper will latch on as a role player elsewhere.

The Mavericks' acquisition of Rudy Fernandez could mean the end of DeShawn Stevenson's tenure in Dallas.
Stevenson shot 40% from downtown in the playoffs, but just 35% from the field overall. As a career 41% shooter he's limited to playing hard-nosed defense and spreading the court offensively.

Sat Jun 18 201109:59DeShawn Stevenson unlikely to be fined
Mavericks GM Donnie Nelson said the team probably will not fine DeShawn Stevenson after he was arrested on Tuesday for public intoxication.
Stevenson was walking near an apartment complex when he was arrested, not driving or fighting or brandishing a firearm, so this should be the end of the story.

Mavericks GM Donnie Nelson said Thursday that the team is still reviewing free agent DeShawn Stevenson's arrest.
Stevenson was busted Tuesday in Irving, Texas for public intoxication. Considering Stevenson didn't hurt anyone and wasn't driving, we highly doubt he'll face any discipline from the Mavs or the NBA.

Wed Jun 15 201112:01Stevenson arrested for public intoxication
DeShawn Stevenson was arrested for public intoxication on Tuesday in Irving, Texas.
Apparently Stevenson was partying a little too hard after the Mavs' victory. Police say they were called to an apartment complex at about 10:30 p.m. CT Tuesday regarding an intoxicated person walking around. Stevenson was given sobriety tests and then booked. "Basically, he was intoxicated to a point where he didn't feel comfortable letting him walk away or leave. They didn't have any other options at that point," Irving public information officer John Argumaniz said. Stevenson is unlikely to face any further discipline.
