The Rays are likely to exercise Kyle Farnsworth's $3.3 million option for next season.
If they don't pick up the option, they'll have to pay Farnsworth a $650,000 buyout. The hard-throwing right-hander posted a 2.18 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 51/12 K/BB ratio in 57 2/3 innings during the regular season while converting 25 of 31 save chances. No structural damage was found, though, so he should be OK after a lengthy rest.
