The Dominican native is poised to become the starting shortstop for the Giants at some point along the way, but he isn't an asset in redraft leagues just yet.

Health of course will play a factor, but dynasty managers should already be rostering Luciano, and he could make an impact in redraft leagues as soon as next year.

Luciano has been out since suffering a lower back strain in June. The No. 8 overall prospect in all of baseball was hitting .288/.360/.507 with eight home runs and 17 RBI in 40 games for High-A Eugene before he landed on the injured list. In his first rehab game on Thursday, he went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. The 20-year-old has plus power at the plate and an above-average arm at shortstop. Barring a setback, he should return to action at Eugene before long.

With the ability hit the ball hard with a quick swing, Luciano just has to work more on his plate discipline, but as long as he can, Luciano has the makings of a future star in the big leagues.
