Angels recalled RHP Ryan Brasier from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Nick Maronde was sent down in a corresponding roster move. Brasier had an ugly 6.00 ERA and 12/5 K/BB ratio in 12 innings over his first 10 relief appearances in Triple-A this season, but the Angels need a fresh arm for their bullpen.

Angels purchased the contract of RHP Ryan Brasier from Triple-A Salt Lake.
The move ensures that he will not be selected in December's Rule 5 Draft. The 25-year-old right-hander had a 4.37 ERA, 13 saves and a 54/24 K/BB ratio over 59 2/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level.

Fri Apr 30 201013:47Angels prospect Brasier pitches no-hitter
22-year-old Ryan Brasier fired a no-hitter for Double-A Arkansas on Thursday.
It was quite a day for pitchers in the minor leagues, what with Brasier's no-hitter and one-hitters from R.A. Dickey and Kyle Gibson. Brasier, a 2007 sixth-round pick, has opened this year 2-1 with a 3.28 ERA after going 7-5 with a 5.27 ERA in 14 starts and 21 relief appearances between Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and Arkansas last season. Never very highly regarded, he was likely only in the rotation for the start of this year because of the decision to shift top prospect Jordan Walden to the pen.
