Ramirez is out of the lineup Friday against the Cubs.

The injury has not cost Ramirez any starts as of yet, but he was removed in the fourth inning of Sunday's game with the Brewers comfortably in the lead. The Brewers have an off day Monday, which should give Ramirez time to rest his leg without missing further action.

The Brewers are resting a number of regulars for the afternoon matchup and Ramirez is one of them. Mark Reynolds will take over at third base and bat sixth versus Cubs starter Edwin Jackson.

It's been a solid run for Ramirez going 7-for-15 with a homer, two runs scored and four RBI over his last four games. Ramirez (.280/.325/.446), who is a .407 lifetime hitter against Adam Wainwright, faced a less than stellar Cards ace on Friday.

Ramirez has a $14 million mutual option for 2015 and has expressed in the past the possibility that he'll hang up his cleats after this season. However, given that the 36-year-old is in the midst of an All-Star season, it's no surprise that he's ultimately decided to keep going. The Brewers also seem likely to exercise their portion of Ramirez's option.
