Sat Jun 4 201101:05Chris Denorfia hits fourth homer in win
Chris Denorfia went 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk Friday against the Astros.
It was said that Denorfia would be an everyday guy with Will Venable gone, but the Padres had sat him against righties in three of their last six games. Most of his success this year has come against lefties, but he's earned at least a brief shot to become a full-timer based on his performace the last two seasons.

It's too bad, as he's been swinging the bat well over the past week or so. Consider him day-to-day right now.

Sat Sep 25 201019:45Denorfia plays hero in win over Reds
Chris Denorfia went 2-for-2 with a walkoff RBI double in a 4-3 win over the Reds on Saturday.
We'll see what happens later tonight, but for now, The Padres and Giants are in a flat-footed tie for the division lead in the National League West. Denorfia actually had a pair of doubles after entering the game as a defensive replacement in the top of the seventh inning, including the game-winning hit off fireballer Aroldis Chapman with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Denorfia isn't playing enough to be a decent fantasy option, even in NL-only formats, but you can bet that he's a hero to Padres fans right now.
Sun Aug 1 201019:18Denorfia appears as pinch-hitter
Chris Denorfia, who has been battling a groin ailment, appeared as a pinch-hitter on Sunday.
Denorfia hit a sacrifice fly and stayed in the game to play center field. He also later struck out in the contest.
Sun Aug 1 201014:35Denorfia dealing with groin issue
Chris Denorfia is dealing with a groin ailment.
Bad timing for the outfielder. The injury may or may not truly require a trip to the disabled list, but the Padres are looking to clear a roster spot for the arrival of Ryan Ludwick, and putting Denorfia on the DL might be the easiest way to accomplish that. It's a shame, too, because with a .277 batting average, six home runs, 14 RBI and two steals in July, Denorfia isn't the best option to be subtracted from the roster right now.

Sun Jul 25 201016:38Denorfia goes yard again in Padres' win
Chris Denorfia went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI against the Pirates on Sunday.
Where did this come from? Denorfia hit a two-run double and a solo homer in the affair, leaving Denorfia with six homers and 12 RBI in his last 41 at-bats. Denorfia entered the streak with three career homers in 303 major league at-bats. Needless to say, we wouldn't hold our breath that this is a spike in talent level, and as such we'd stay away in all but the deepest of formats.
Sun Jul 18 201020:11Denorfia homers twice in win over D-Backs
Chris Denorfia was 4-for-4 with two solo home runs and three runs scored in a 6-4 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
It's probably not a surprise to learn that this is the first multi-home run game of his career, but Denorfia previously had a four-hit game on September 26, 2006 as a member of the Reds. The 30-year-old outfielder is batting .281 with four home runs and 17 RBI in 114 at-bats since his promotion from Triple-A Portland on May 17. It's a nice story, but we're guessing he'll lose some playing time once Will Venable returns from the disabled list.
