Sat Feb 5 201113:50Report: Millwood yet to make a decision
FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that Kevin Millwood is still talking to multiple teams and hasn't made up his mind on who he'll pitch for in 2011.
A report from the Cleveland Plain Dealer earlier Saturday indicated that Millwood could be close to a deal with the Indians, but that might not be the case. The Yankees and Royals, who reportedly have had some interest, could still be players for the veteran right-hander.

Sat Feb 5 201110:36Report: Indians making progrees with Millwood
The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reports that the Indians are making progress on a deal with free agent Kevin Millwood.
Hoynes reports that if it's a major league contract, it first needs to be approved by CEO Paul Dolan. The Indians have had interest in Millwood for a while but had balked at his asking price, so perhaps he's lowered his demands. Millwood, who led the AL in ERA back in 2005 while with the Tribe, went 4-16 with a 5.10 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 31 starts last season. His arrival in Cleveland might mean the Indians are out of the running for Jeremy Bonderman.

Thu Feb 3 201116:37Tribe like Millwood, but not at current price
Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Indians are still interested in Kevin Millwood, but not at his current asking price.
Buster Olney of ESPN.com heard Thursday that Millwood is seeking a $4-5 million salary for 2011, and the Tribe simply can't justify paying that. The Yankees may step up their involvement now that Andy Pettitte has decided to retire, but no team should be willing to offer the man that kind of sum. He posted a 4-16 record, 5.10 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 31 starts last season.

Thu Feb 3 201113:51Millwood looking for $4-5 million
Buster Olney of ESPN.com hears that Kevin Millwood is looking for $4-5 million for 2011.
Olney writes that the figure "is significantly more than some teams willing to consider," something we would call a severe understatement. The 36-year-old right-hander went 4-16 with a 5.10 ERA over 31 starts with the Orioles last season. The pitching-starved Yankees have naturally kept in contact with the veteran right-hander, but we'd be far more optimistic about him if he found a home in the National League.

Wed Feb 2 201121:25Yanks 'still in contact' with Kevin Millwood
According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Yankees are "still in contact" with free agent starter Kevin Millwood.
Heyman suspects that the Yankees are really beginning to worry that Andy Pettitte might retire. Millwood would be a major downgrade and would probably have to put on a show this spring to lock up the fifth spot in New York's rotation for 2011. The right-hander posted a hideous 4-16 record, 5.10 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 31 starts last season in Baltimore. On the plus side, he shouldn't command much more than $1 million on a one-year contract.

Sat Jan 29 201110:17Report: Millwood, Indians apart on price
SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Indians maintain interest in free agent Kevin Millwood, but the two sides can't agree on a price.
Millwood has received lukewarm interest on the market, which isn't a surprise after he went 4-16 with a 5.10 ERA and 1.51 WHIP this past season. The Royals could also be players, as could the Yankees, depending on what happens with Andy Pettitte. The right-hander is due for a big paycut after making $12 million in 2010.

Wed Jan 19 201117:24Millwood open to re-signing with the Orioles
Kevin Millwood told Roch Kubatko of MASN on Wednesday that he is open to re-signing with the Orioles.
Millwood has been linked to the Indians, Yankees and Royals this winter, but nothing has come of it and he has no offers on the table currently. "I don't think the door is closed [with Baltimore]. It's always a possibility until I sign," Millwood said. "Scott went over teams that were interested and he mentioned Baltimore, but I'm not sure about the level of interest." The 36-year-old righty posted an ugly 4-16 record, 5.10 ERA and 1.51 WHIP last year.

Tue Jan 18 201106:21Yankees also looking at Kevin Millwood
The Yankees also are looking at Kevin Millwood, writes Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman.
Millwood finished 2010 with a 4-16 record, 5.10 ERA, and 1.51 WHIP. The record is a bit misleading, as he was playing for offensively challenged Orioles (2nd fewest runs in the AL). Millwood could be a good fit as Yankees' #5 starter, and the team certainly would hope the former Cy Young award candidate could come closer to his 2009 totals of 13-10 with a 3.67 ERA and 1.34 WHIP.

Thu Jan 13 201109:57Indians interested in Millwood and Chen
According to Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Indians have spoken with agent Scott Boras about free agent right-handers Kevin Millwood and Bruce Chen.
Meanwhile, the team's interest in Bartolo Colon has "cooled considerably." According to Hoynes, barring something out of the ordinary, any free agent pitcher would have to accept a minor league deal with the club. As such, Millwood and Chen are only realistic if they can't find better opportunities elsewhere.

Fri Dec 3 201019:39Royals no longer interested in Millwood
The Royals are no longer interested in Kevin Millwood and are planning to give their younger pitchers a shot to compete for rotation spots.
"We're conscious of making sure we don't do anything to restrict the path of our young players," GM Dayton Moore said. "We like Kevin but, look at the rotation, and I don't know how it fits." Zack Greinke (assuming he's not traded), Luke Hochevar and Kyle Davies are set in the rotation, while Vin Mazzaro and Sean O'Sullivan will be given "every chance to win a spot." Moore also mentioned that prospects Everett Teaford and Danny Duffy would get a long look in spring training.

Tue Nov 23 201020:18Report: Rockies/Royals interested in Millwood
According to Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun, the Rockies and Royals are interested in Kevin Millwood.
Millwood, 35, went 4-16 with a disappointing 5.10 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 31 starts this past year for the O's. Baltimore declined to offer him arbitration earlier this evening.

Tue Nov 23 201019:21Orioles decline Millwood arbitration offer
The Orioles declined to offer arbitration to Kevin Millwood.
No surprise here. Millwood, 35, posted a disappointing 5.10 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 31 starts this year for the O's. He finished with an ugly 4-16 record. The Rockies have reportedly made contact with Millwood and Baltimore should be fine with the idea of letting him walk. Moving from the American League East to the National League West would be a good career move for the veteran.

Wed Nov 17 201020:10Rox have made contact with Kevin Millwood
According to Troy Renck of the Denver Post, the Rockies have made contact with free agent right-hander Kevin Millwood.
Millwood, 35, posted a disappointing 5.10 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 31 starts this year for the O's. He finished with an ugly 4-16 record, but the Rox are obviously thinking that the results will be different moving from the American League East to the National League West. And they're probably right.

Wed Sep 29 201022:21Millwood finishes up season strong
Kevin Millwood tossed seven shutout innings to beat the Rays on Wednesday night.
Millwood's first two months of the season went enough, but the weight of the Orioles miserable offense combined with his 33-year-old arm wore him out. He finishes with an ugly 4-16 record to go with a 5.10 ERA and 1.51 WHIP. The Orioles will surely let him walk in free agency this winter.
Fri Sep 3 201022:26Millwood suffers 15th loss vs. Ryas
Kevin Millwood dropped to 3-15 on the year by giving up four runs over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Rays on Friday night.
Not good. Millwood gave up seven hits and tied a season-high with five walks while striking out just three. He also hit Evan Longoria with a pitch in the fifth inning. The veteran right-hander has just one win since June 24. Needless to say, O's fans will be happy to see him go after the season.
Mon Aug 23 201008:38Millwood could be removed from rotation
It's possible the Orioles could remove Millwood from their rotation in order to get a look at one of their younger pitchers.
The team would love to trade Millwood in order to free up a space, but, not surprisingly, interest has been limited. Chris Tillman will be up in September, Zach Britton might be up, and the team would also like to give some starts to Rick VandenHurk, who is in the bullpen. The other option the O's have is to shut down one of their young starters, like Jake Arrieta.

Sun Aug 22 201016:42Millwood hit hard in loss to Rangers
Kevin Millwood was touched up for six runs in six innings against the Rangers on Sunday while taking a loss to fall to 2-14 on the season.
Millwood coughed up two homers in the contest, but both were poorly timed as each scored three runs. The right-hander had reeled off three straight quality starts before today, but two of those were against the weak lineups of the Indians and Mariners. He remains someone to avoid in fantasy leagues.
Tue Aug 17 201021:53Millwood takes tough loss vs. Mariners
Kevin Millwood dropped to 2-13 on the year despite hurling eight innings of one-run ball against Mariners on Tuesday night.
It was his longest outing since May 18. Millwood scattered six hits while fanning four and walking three. The only run scored on a double by Matt Tuiasosopo in the top of the fifth. Millwood has consecutive quality starts under his belt, but he'll have to do more than pitch well against the likes of the Mariners and Indians to earn mixed league consideration.
Thu Aug 12 201022:09Millwood pitches well but loses
Kevin Millwood permitted three runs over seven innings in a loss to the Indians Thursday.
The right-hander gave up nine hits, walked one and hit a pair of batters. He struck out just one. After a string of five straight starts with exactly five runs allowed, Millwood has been pretty solid his last two times out. It's been a terribly disappointing year overall, though, as he fell to 2-12 with tonight's loss and has posted a 5.74 ERA and 1.60 WHIP this season - not the kind of numbers you want to put up in a contract year. Millwood faces the Mariners next week.
Sat Aug 7 201022:32Millwood pitches well, but O's fall to ChiSox
Kevin Millwood threw six innings of one-run ball Saturday against the White Sox but was left with a no-decision.
Millwood did his part, but Jason Berken allowed two runs in relief and Matt Alberts allowed one. The veteran Millwood still sits 2-11 on the season with a 5.84 ERA and 1.61 WHIP, so he's not totally free of blame for the way things have gone this season in Baltimore.
