The 34-year-old former closer was limited to just eight appearances last season due to elbow troubles. He was off to a terrific start at Charlotte though which prompted the move, hurling eight scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out 12. It's not out of the question that he could work his way into save situations if he performs well. |

It initially appeared that the ball got Francisco in the right wrist, but it was actually his thumb that took the brunt of the hit. Mets skipper Terry Collins indicated that his thumb has already swelled significantly. Even if there is no structural damage, expect Francisco to miss a few games. |
