Fri Mar 8 2013 | 17:36 | Angels reassign three to minor league camp |
Angels reassigned 3B Kaleb Cowart, 2B Taylor Lindsey and OF Randal Grichuk to minor league camp. |
Baseball America included Cowart (No. 1), Grichuk (No. 6) and Lindsey (No. 7) among the team's top 10 prospect during the offseason. Cowart, a 20-year-old third baseman, is considered the organization's top prospect now that Mike Trout is in the big leagues and Jean Segura is in Milwaukee. |

Wed Mar 6 2013 | 18:27 | Cowart has three-run double against Italy |
Kaleb Cowart went 2-for-2 with a bases-clearing double Wednesday in an exhibition game against Italy. |
To be fair, Chris Denorfia likely would have caught the ball if he didn't take a bad route, but it will go down as a double in the box score. Regarded as the Angels' third baseman of the future, Cowart batted .276/.358/.452 with 16 home runs and an .810 OPS last season between Class-A Cedar Rapids and High-A Inland Empire. Baseball America recently ranked him as the game's No. 67 prospect. |
