Tue Jan 11 201114:10Rockies have 'some interest' in Andruw Jones
Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies have "some interest" in free agent outfielder Andruw Jones.
The Yankees also have interest and may have a leg up because they can provide him with at-bats in the designated hitter role. The Rox don't have that luxury and probably wouldn't want to use him all that frequently in the outfield because his range has taken a tumble the last few years. Jones, 33, did post a very strong 931 OPS against left-handed pitchers last season.

Mon Jan 10 201116:23Yanks' still targeting Andruw Jones
According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, Andruw Jones appears to be the Yankees' top choice for a fourth outfielder, but the two sides are still apart on salary.
Consistent with what Heyman has reported over the past week. Jones, who turns 34 in April, posted a 931 OPS against southpaws last season and can play all three outfield positions, so he should be attractive to a few teams. According to Heyman, Johnny Damon and Marcus Thames are among potential backup plans for the Bombers.

Fri Jan 7 201121:09Yankees start talks with Andruw Jones
According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Yankees have started preliminary talks with Andruw Jones.
The Yankees need a power-hitting right-handed hitting outfielder but are reportedly shying away from re-signing Marcus Thames because of defensive concerns. Jones, who will be 34 in April, is a better defender than Thames and would likely fill the same bench role if signed. Despite the interest, it may be some time before an agreement is reached.

Tue Jan 4 201116:26Report: Yanks considering Andruw Jones
According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Yankees are considering Andruw Jones among right-handed hitting outfielders.
We haven't heard much about Jones this winter, but he could fill a role similar to what Marcus Thames provided for the Bombers last season. Jones, who turns 34 in April, posted a 931 OPS in 102 plate appearances against southpaws in 2010.

Wed Nov 17 201022:08Rox have interest in free agent Andruw Jones
The Rockies have inquired about free agent outfielder Andruw Jones.
Jones slugged 19 home runs in 278 at-bats for the White Sox this year and would probably do well as a bench player in the hitting friendly confines of Coors Field. A one-year contract worth around $1 million should do the trick. He earned only $500,000 with Chicago during the 2010 season.

Mon Sep 6 201016:18White Sox's Jones has another two-hit game
Andruw Jones singled twice in three at-bats Monday in the win over the Tigers.
It figured that Jones would turn into a forgotten man with the Manny Ramirez acquisition, but he's managed to go 10-for-17 with a homer over his last five starts. Manager Ozzie Guillen will keep looking for ways to squeeze him in if he stays hot.
Mon Aug 30 201019:10Andruw Jones would like to play 5 more years
Andruw Jones told Scott Merkin of MLB.com that he would like to play another five years.
"Everybody says he's getting old or he's losing it," said Jones. "There are things you have to work on and try to get yourself more consistent. Hopefully when you get the opportunity to play, you can get back on that roll. But I'm looking for another five years, and if I play consistently, I should be where I want to be." Jones, 33, is batting .215/.321/.474 with 18 home runs and 42 RBI over 293 at-bats this season, almost a carbon copy of the numbers he posted with the Rangers last season. He's clearly not an everyday option anymore -- even less-so after the addition of Manny Ramirez -- but he's still a valuable power bat against left-handed pitching.

Andruw Jones was scratched Wednesday with a stiff back.
A day in the life of a 14-year veteran. Jones, batting .201/.307/.437 with 15 homers in 229 at-bats, should be fine with a day or two of rest.

Andruw Jones hit his seventh and eighth homers of the season Saturday as the White Sox edged the Yankees 7-6.
Jones also swiped his fourth base. He's already had three two-homer games in 16 starts this season. That makes him a weekly play in mixed leagues right now.

Sat Apr 24 201001:01Andruw Jones has two jacks including walkoff
Andruw Jones hit two home runs on Friday night, including a walkoff to beat the Mariners on Friday night.
It was a happy birthday for Jones, who turned 33 on Friday. He's earned a starting job with the Sox by swinging a hot bat, but we're skeptical of how long this surge can last. He hasn't hit above .222 in any of the last three seasons and has an unsustainable six homers in 41 at-bats this year.
Wed Apr 14 201022:02Andruw Jones gets start vs. righty, goes yard
Andrew Jones went 3-for-5 with a home run and a double on Wednesday night.
Most notably, Jones got a start against a righty. He also had a mutli-homer game on Monday night, but we're not putting much stock in this mini-surge. Jones will swing for the fences and come up empty more often than he has nights like this.
Mon Apr 12 201023:05Andruw Jones homers twice in win over Jays
Andruw Jones was 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in an 8-7 win over the Blue Jays in 11 innings on Monday night.
Jones clubbed a two-run shot in the second inning and a solo home run in the sixth. They were his first home runs of the new season. He'll likely continue to get the majority of at-bats against southpaws, with Mark Kotsay facing right-handers.
Sun Apr 11 201017:17White Sox Jones hits go-ahead single vs Twins
Andruw Jones hit a go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the White Sox a 5-4 lead over the Twins in a game they would win by the same score.
General manager Kenny Williams and manager Ozzie Guillen look like geniuses today, as the much-criticized DH pairing of Mark Kotsay and Jones worked out exceptionally well. Kotsay hit a solo homer earlier in the game, and Jones pinch-hit for him with left-hander Jose Mijares on the mound to deliver the go-ahead single. Neither player figures to be much of an asset for the club on most days, but the club can certainly smile this afternoon.
Thu Apr 8 201020:01Jones starting in center field for White Sox
Andruw Jones is starting in center field Thursday against the Indians.
Alex Rios was bumped to left field and Juan Pierre to DH. The White Sox plan to give Jones a start in the outfield every few weeks to keep him fresh and fantasy owners will surely appreciate the position eligibility.
