Sun Aug 22 201011:08Redman continues strong play
Isaac Redman continued his big preseason by rushing six times for 34 yards with a touchdown in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants.
Redman displayed the rugged running style that has endeared him to Steelers fan on his 12-yard touchdown run. With Jonathan Dwyer (shoulder) missing the game, the battle to be Rashard Mendenhall's backup isn't looking like much of a competition. Redman is a serious vulture threat.

Wed Aug 18 201011:46Redman draws more praise from Wilson
After rushing 15 times for 60 yards in the preseason opener, Isaac Redman drew more praise from his coaches.
This is the second straight year that Redman has been a camp darling, but it feels more real this time. There's also a gaping hole behind Rashard Mendenhall now with Willie Parker gone, Mewelde Moore inept and Jonathan Dwyer having a nightmare camp. "He's continuing to impress and take that next step as he develops his overall game," running backs coach Kirby Wilson said of Redman. Again, Redman is a touchdown vulture candidate to Mendenhall owners.

Mon Aug 16 201010:19Redman expected to stick this year
Beat writer Ed Bouchette says that Isaac Redman will stick on the Steelers' final roster this season.
Last year, "Red Zone" Redman landed on the practice squad despite showing a nose for the goal-line. This time around, he's showing more versatility and coach Mike Tomlin has taken notice. Redman is a possible vulture threat to Rashard Mendenhall's touchdown upside.

Mon Aug 2 201008:03Redman says his conditioning is better
Isaac Redman says that his conditioning is vastly improved this year as he tries to carve out a niche as the Steelers' short-yardage specialist.
Redman earned the nickname "Red Zone" at last year's camp, but ended up on the practice squad anyway. This year, the Steelers have thrown the short-yardage role open for competition and told Redman that the ball is in his court to make the team. He'll have to really impress to stick this year after the Steelers drafted big back Jonathan Dwyer in April.

Fri Jun 11 201010:45Redman added to short-yardage competition
Coach Mike Tomlin has added Isaac Redman to competition for short-yardage duties.
We remain doubtful that "Red Zone" Redman will stick on the final roster, as rookie Jonathan Dwyer is a superior talent. What's important here is that Rashard Mendenhall if far from a lock to nail down goal-line work this summer.

Wed Apr 7 201011:26Redman won't be the backup
Beat writer Ed Bouchette doesn't see Isaac Redman as a possibility for the Steelers' No. 2 RB job.
Redman created some buzz last preseason and earned the nickname "Red Zone" Redman, but he didn't even make the team. Frank Summers has a better shot at a short-yardage specialist role.
