Mon Sep 13 2021 | 01:09 | Lane Thomas Stays Hot With Three-Run Homer |
Washington Nationals outfielder Lane Thomas flashed some power Sunday, hitting a three-run homer in a 6-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was his only hit in five at-bats. Thomas is now slashing .305/.396/.537 with four homers and two steals in 26 games as a National, and he's hit safely in four straight with three extra-base hits in that time. He's a worthy short-term add |

Fri Sep 10 2021 | 12:13 | Lane Thomas Reaches Four Times Thurday |
Washington Nationals outfielder Lane Thomas kept up his hot hitting Thursday, going 2-for-3 with a triple, two walks, two runs scored, and an RBI. Over his last 30 games, Thomas is slashing .313/.402/.530 with 26 runs scored. He needs to be rostered for as long as he's hot, and he'll continue to be an excellent source of runs batting atop the Washington lineup in front of Juan Soto and Josh Bell. |

Thu Sep 9 2021 | 14:34 | Lane Thomas Goes 1-for-2 In Steals Attempts |
Washington Nationals outfielder Lane Thomas attempted to steal twice Wednesday, and was successful on one occasion, swiping his fourth base of the year. He was also caught for the third time. He went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in the game. Thomas has been excellent since joining the Nationals, slashing .300/.380/.500 in 80 at-bats as the everyday leadoff hitter. He doesn't have much high-end upside, but fantasy managers will find him worthy of a roster spot for as long as he stays hot. |

Fri Sep 3 2021 | 10:06 | Lane Thomas Cracks First Homer With Washington |
Washington Nationals outfielder Lane Thomas went 2-for-4 with his first home run of the season Thursday versus the Phillies. It was Thomas' first home run since coming over from the Cardinals, and only his second dinger since 2019. The 26-year-old is only batting .212 across 117 plate appearances this season, but he does have a strong .333 on-base percentage thanks to a sturdy 15% walk rate. The Nationals have noticed and Thomas has batted leadoff five games in a row which provides a slight boost to his fantasy value. Thomas remains a deep league option only, but those in OBP leagues or fantasy managers chasing runs scored can do worse than grabbing a high OBP hitter batting ahead of Juan Soto. |

Sat Aug 28 2021 | 23:48 | Lane Thomas Doubles Twice More Saturday |
Washington Nationals outfielder Lane Thomas was once again at the top of the lineup Saturday, and he kept up his strong production, going 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored. Thomas has just 33 at-bats in 11 games as a National, but he's slashed .364/.462/.545 in that time with four doubles and a triple. Now that he may have taken over as the regular leadoff hitter, he's worth a look in deep leagues. |

Sun Aug 22 2021 | 13:06 | Lane Thomas Scores Three Runs |
Washington Nationals outfielder Lane Thomas started in center field and batted leadoff again Saturday, and he responded by going 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, and three runs scored. He's in the same spot in the lineup on Sunday. Though he has a .597 OPS in 59 at-bats this season, he's been much more productive in his stint in Washington, batting .545/.667/.818 in 15 plate appearances. He's not worth an add for now, but he could become a factor in deeper leagues if he holds onto the leadoff spot the rest of the season. |
