Alberto Callaspo's one-year deal with the Angels is worth $2 million.
Callapso avoided arbitration Tuesday by agreeing to the deal. It's not a bad haul for the first-year arbitration-eligible infielder, who is expected to start at third base in Anaheim this season. He finished with a .265/.302/.374 overall batting line, 10 home runs and 56 RBI in 146 games last year.

Angels and 3B Alberto Callaspo avoided arbitration Tuesday by agreeing to a one-year contract.
The Angels acquired Callaspo from the Royals in the middle of last season to provide a stable presence at third base. He batted just .249/.291/.315 down the stretch for Anaheim, but the 27-year-old looked sharp in the Venezuelan Winter League this offseason and will again start at the hot corner in 2011. The financial details of the deal are not yet known.

Alberto Callaspo is batting .400 with a .516 on-base percentage through one week of play in the Venezuelan Winter League.
Callaspo is mostly sticking to a designated hitter role in order to curb the risk of injury. He is on the same team as Angels prospects Hank Conger and Mark Trumbo, and finished 1-for-2 on Sunday with three walks to lead his Magallanes club over Caracas. It has been a productive winter thus far.
