Thu Aug 19 201016:29Podsednik triggers decision on team option
Scott Podsednik reached 525 plate appearances during Thursday's game, giving him the right to decline a $2 million team option if it is exercised by the Dodgers for next season.
We're not sure if the Dodgers have any plans to actually pick up the option at this time. Podsednik has put together back-to-back productive seasons, but it may be difficult for him to find something better considering that he'll be 35 years old next March. Speed doesn't tend to age well and "Scotty Pods" already gets caught stealing a little too much for our liking.

Wed Jul 28 201021:03Dodgers deal for Royals OF Scott Podsednik
Jayson Stark of ESPN.com reports that Dodgers have acquired outfielder Scott Podsednik from the Royals for two minor leaguers.
The Dodgers beat out the division rival Giants to land Podsednik, who has hit .310/.353/.400 with five homers, 44 RBI and 30 stolen bases in 390 at-bats for the Royals. He'll join an outfield rotation in Los Angeles that is headlined by Andre Ethier, Matt Kemp and Manny Ramirez. That crowd should cut into his fantasy value, but the speedster will be highly useful to the Dodgers. The Royals will get catcher Lucas May and righty Elisaul Pimentel in return.

Tue Jul 27 201020:10Giants in on Scott Podsednik
A source confirms to Jeff Fletcher of AOL Fanhouse that the Giants are interested in Scott Podsednik.
As Fletcher astutely points out, the two sides reportedly agreed on prospects for David DeJesus before his thumb injury, so they may be able to make progress on a deal rather quickly. He'd be a pretty nice fit in left field.

Mon Jul 26 201023:24NL West showing interest in Podsednik
A source tells Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com that the Royals are "getting bombarded" with sudden interest in Scott Podsednik from contenders in the National League West.
Rosenthal speculates that Podsednik could be a good fit with the Giants, Padres and Dodgers. Frankly, it's surprising we haven't heard more about him already. The 34-year-old outfielder is currently enjoying his second straight solid season, batting .309 with five homers, 43 RBI and 30 stolen bases.

Sun Jul 25 201019:19Podsednik homers twice but Royals falter
Scott Podsednik homered twice to drive in four runs against the Yankees on Sunday but the Royals still lost the game 12-6.
Podsednik took both starter Phil Hughes and reliever Joba Chamberlain deep for two-run blasts. He also added a single in the contest, raising his average to .309 to go with five homers and 29 steals. The 34-year-old Podsednik isn't adding any value to the Royals long-term, but there's surprisingly few rumors about teams being interested in acquiring the veteran. That's a plus for his fantasy owners, as Podsednik fits best as a fourth outfielder on a contender.
Sat Jul 24 201016:20Podsednik has three hits in win over Yanks
Scott Podsednik was 3-for-5 with an RBI single and a stolen base in a 7-4 win over the Yankees on Saturday afternoon.
Podsednik continues to stay hot. He is batting .351 this month and has a pretty nice 11-game hitting streak going. Podsednik has been caught a dozen times this season, tying him for the AL lead, but his 29 stolen bases -- third in the league -- have made fantasy owners plenty happy.
Thu Jul 22 201022:59Pods gets pair of hits, steals Thursday
Scott Podsednik went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a pair of stolen bases in the Royals' loss to the Yankees Thursday.
It wasn't all rosy for the Pods, as he committed an error in the field, but fantasy owners don't really care about that. Those that chose to pass on the Michael Bourns and Nyjer Morgans and wait for Podsednik this spring are being rewarded, as the oufielder is hitting .301 with 27 steals on the season.
Sun Jul 18 201017:23Podsednik has two RBI in loss to A's
Scott Podsednik went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in a loss to the Athletics on Sunday.
He had a two-run single in a five-run ninth for the Royals, but their rally came up a bit short. Podsednik is very quietly batting .353 (18-for-51) this month, though he is just 3-for-5 in stolen bases attempts, including one on Sunday. He'll need to keep up his pace from earlier this season in order to remain relevant in mixed leagues.
Mon Jun 21 201022:32Podsednik has four hits in loss
Scott Podsednik was 4-for-4 with a double in a loss to the Nationals on Monday night.
The Royals had 11 hits on Monday, but they were only able to muster up one run. It was Podsednik's third four-hit game of the season. He has an impressive .293 batting average to go along with 20 steals and 28 RBI, but has a pedestrian .268 batting average since the start of May.
Fri Jun 18 201000:52Podsednik's homer paces Royals
Scott Podsednik hit a three-run homer off Brett Myers in the seventh inning Thursday to lead the Royals to a 5-2 win over the Astros.
Podsednik's offensive production has dropped pretty steadily since his fast start, but he had a surprise in store for Myers tonight. The homer was his third of the year. He has a pretty impressive total of 26 RBI this season despite batting first and second for the Royals.
Fri May 7 201000:29Royals score 12 runs, lose to Rangers
Scott Podsednik went 2-for-4 with a homer, four RBI and two steals as the Royals scored 12 runs yet still lost to the Rangers on Thursday.
Hand it to the Royals, who became the second team this year to score 12 runs and lose. The Jays lost 13-12 to the Red Sox on April 26. It happened just twice all of last season. It's the first time the Royals have done it since that famous game on Aug. 23, 2006, when Kansas City score 10 in the first, only to fall to Cleveland 15-13.
Wed Apr 21 201012:08Podsednik back in Royals' lineup
Scott Podsednik is back in the starting lineup on Wednesday afternoon.
The .457 hitter will bat second against Shaun Marcum. Podsednik missed the previous two games while attending to a family emergency.
Tue Apr 20 201018:17Podsednik to return to team on Tuesday
Scott Podsednik is scheduled to rejoin the team on Tuesday night.
He's currently on his way to Toronto after leaving the team on Monday to attend to a family emergency. Though he is not in the starting lineup, he could still be used during tonight's game.

Sun Apr 18 201018:27Podsednik adds three more hits in Royals' win
Scott Podsednik garnered three more hits in five at-bats on Sunday to raise his average to .457.
He also chipped in two RBI, a run scored, and his seventh steal of the season. Podsednik leads the majors in hitting through two weeks and is also tied for first in stolen bases. The Royals seem set to run him out at the top of their lineup all season, so Podsednik should be a valuable fantasy asset in all leagues. Still, if his early season performance has owners jumping on the bandwagon with too much enthusiasm he's certainly worth considering selling high on.
Thu Apr 8 201017:20Royals' Podsednik goes 4-for-5
In the lineup against Dontrelle Willis, Scott Podsednik went 4-for-5 in Thursday's loss to the Tigers.
Of course, he's a Royal, so it was 4-for-5 with no runs scored or RBI. Every hit was a single, and he didn't attempt a steal after any of them. Fortunately, he did steal a couple of bases last night, so it was a positive series from a fantasy standpoint.
