Red Sox prospect second baseman Yamaico Navarro (wrist) didn't require X-rays on his left wrist. |
Good news. Navarro was hit on the left wrist with a pitch last night, a strange play that actually won the game for the Red Sox, but fortunately the 23-year-old infielder is just fine. |

Red Sox prospect Yamaico Navarro suffered a bruised left wrist Wednesday when he was hit by a pitch. |
"We'll get him iced down and get him looked at," said Red Sox manager Terry Francona, after the club's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles. Navarro will undergo an X-ray Thursday to make sure that there are no fractures. A 23-year-old shortstop, he batted .275/.356/.437 with 11 home runs and 18 stolen bases over 382 minor league at-bats last season. He's likely to open the year at Triple-A Pawtucket. |
