In other words, San Diego seeks a trade that would allow the team to get rid of Hudson's $5.5 million commitment for 2012. And they're not expecting much in return. The 33-year-old second baseman batted just .246 with a .681 OPS in 119 games this past season for the Padres. He has also taken a step back defensively. |

Hudson was carted off the field and said Friday that he passed out after crashing into the wall. "I did see darkness. There wasn't any light coming to my face for a second or two," said Hudson. Padres manager Bud Black will address the situation later in the day Friday, but Hudson is expected to miss at least a couple games. |
