Wed Aug 10 201123:04Fuld's triple caps stunning rally
Sam Fuld added another chapter to his legend on Wednesday evening, tripling home two runs with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, capping a five-run Rays rally in an 8-7 win over the Royals.
The Rays trailed 7-3 entering the bottom of the ninth after Melky Cabrera took Jake McGee deep for a three-run bomb in the top half, but jumped all over Aaron Crown and Joakim Soria. As for Fuld, his fifth triple of the season was his first extra-base hit in 10 games.

Fri May 20 201114:29Fuld getting another day on Friday
Sam Fuld will sit out for the second straight day on Friday when the Rays take on the Marlins.
Manager Joe Maddon has decided to give him two days to clear his head. After being the toast of baseball in May, Fuld is hitting just .152 this month. If you've been holding onto him in hopes of another hot streak, don't hold your breath.

Thu May 19 201115:37Fuld not in Thursday's lineup
Sam Fuld is not in the lineup Thursday against the Blue Jays.
It's not like most fantasy owners will miss him. Fuld made for a great story in the early part of the season, but he's batting just .152/.164/.242 with one home run and two stolen bases over 68 plate appearances this month. We sure hope you sold high. Ben Zobrist will start in right field and bat leadoff Thursday while Matt Joyce starts in left and Sean Rodriguez plays second base.

Wed May 11 201122:04Fuld finally gets on track in win over Tribe
Just 3-for-33 in May entering play on Wednesday, Sam Fuld finally got it going in Tampa's win over the Indians, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, a walk and a stolen base.
A sight for his owners' sore eyes, who have probably been wondering whether or not Fuld will be worth holding onto going forward. It's still quite possible that he won't be, but now tied for the American League lead in stolen bases, it's not yet time to drop him.

Sun May 1 201112:34Sam Fuld has CAT scan
Sam Fuld required a CAT scan after fouling a bunt off his left eye/forehead Saturday.
It came back negative, and he's in the lineup Sunday. One of fantasy baseball's biggest surprises thus far, Fuld has predictably cooled off of late, going hitless in his last 18 at-bats.

Sam Fuld went 3-for-5 and scored three runs in Friday's loss to the Blue Jays.
He also stole a pair of bases, giving him nine on the season. With the steals, the .366 average and the 11 runs scored, he's undoubtedly been one of fantasy's biggest surprises thus far.

Thu Apr 7 201116:54Rays' Fuld swipes three bases
Making a second straight start, Sam Fuld went 1-for-3 with a walk and three steals as the Rays' leadoff hitter Thursday.
Now 0-6, the Rays have little choice but to play the hot hand and that would seem to be Fuld at the moment. He shouldn't have any long-term value in AL-only leagues, but with four steals in four games, he's worth playing right now.

Wed Mar 2 201114:18Fuld (elbow) to miss a couple days
Rays manager Joe Maddon said Wednesday that Sam Fuld (elbow) will be out of the lineup for a couple days.
Fuld is currently dealing with a tender right elbow, but Maddon said his absence is mostly precautionary. The 29-year-old hopes to make the Opening Day roster as a reserve outfielder.

Sat Jan 8 201117:49Fuld traded to Rays
Outfielder Sam Fuld was traded from the Cubs to the Rays in an eight-player deal.
If the Rays were going to go with one of the two as their fifth outfielder, we'd have preferred Fernando Perez. Still, there's no big difference here and it's possible neither would have made the team. Fuld, 29, hit .272/.383/.394 for Triple-A Iowa last season. He has no upside at all, but as a 25th man, he can get on base a bit, play a solid outfield and serve as a pinch-runner when necessary.
