Thu Apr 24 201417:44Sam Fuld doubles twice against Rays
Sam Fuld went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in the Twins' 9-7 takedown of the Rays on Thursday.
Fuld's Twins career is off to an amazing start. This is a guy who didn't have a single double in 176 at-bats for the Rays last year. He also went 30 at-bats without one in Oakland this season. However, since being claimed by the Twins, he has three in two games. Expect him to remain in the lineup against right-handers for the foreseeable future, giving him a little AL-only value.

Sun Apr 20 201413:46Twins claim Sam Fuld off waivers from A's
Twins claimed OF Sam Fuld off waivers from the Athletics.
It's a good fit, as the Twins could really use some outfield help. With Aaron Hicks sporting an ugly .179/.299/.214 batting line, Fuld could wind up with a good amount of playing time in center field. He's only a career .233/.312/.334 hitter over parts of seven big league seasons but offers a good outfield glove.

Athletics designated OF Sam Fuld for assignment.
Fuld tallied two triples, a home run, and four RBI in seven games with the A's. He is a .233/.312/.334 career hitter in 841 plate appearances at the major league level but should still draw interest on waivers because of his defensive capabilities. Fuld was removed from the 40-man roster to clear a spot for Craig Gentry.

Wed Feb 26 201418:04Sam Fuld singles twice vs. the Giants
A's non-roster invitee Sam Fuld went 2-for-3 against the Giants on Wednesday.
Fuld, trying to make the team as a reserve outfielder, opened up strong, singling twice. The Athletics picked him up on a minor league deal just three weeks ago, hoping that another low-risk gamble results in a big payoff. In the past, Fuld has been lackluster with the bat, providing more value with his defense and his baserunning.

Tue Feb 4 201415:59A's sign Sam Fuld to minor league deal
Athletics signed OF Sam Fuld to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Fuld will make $800,000 if he's on the majors league roster and could earn an additional $100,000 with incentives. The deal includes opt-outs in late March or on June 1. The 32-year-old batted just .199/.270/.267 over 200 plate appearances last season with the Rays, but his speed and defensive ability could come in handy in a reserve role.

Sun Jan 5 201416:36Sam Fuld remains open to returning to Rays
Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports that free agent outfielder Sam Fuld remains open to returning to the Rays.
The 32-year-old had a very disappointing season in 2013, slashing a brutal .199/.270/.267 with two homers, 17 RBI and eight stolen bases. He remains a top flight defender though with plus speed, and would make a valuable depth signing on a minor league deal.
