Sat Mar 31 201210:24Mickael Pietrus likely out until playoffs
Doc Rivers doesn't expect to have Mickael Pietrus (concussion) in the lineup before the playoffs begin.
Pietrus hopes to play as soon as this week, but players are often overly optimistic when it comes to their return dates, and he'll need to pass strict concussion-testing. Fantasy owners should write him off.

Thu Mar 29 201208:28Mickael PIetrus (head) improving, remains out
Danny Ainge said that Mickael Pietrus (head) is improving, but there remains no timetable for his return.
Pietrus is out indefinitely after a scary fall that had him carted off on a stretcher. The swingman is still suffering from concussion symptoms at this time, and baseline testing can't start until he's symptom-free. Avery Bradley and Keyon Dooling will both likely continue to see increased time with Pietrus sidelined.

Tue Mar 27 201206:30Mickael Pietrus (head) out indefinitely
Mickael Pietrus (head) has not started concussion tests and there is no timetable for his return.
"There is no update, nothing," Doc Rivers said. "He's having too many symptoms. I don't think we're going to see him for a while." The Celtics certainly won't rush him back after his scary fall. Avery Bradley has started two games at shooting guard since Pietrus went down and Ray Allen (ankle) remains sidelined, so Bradley will likely increased minutes while Pietrus is out.

Mon Mar 26 201210:22Mickael Pietrus has a concussion
Mickael Pietrus has been diagnosed with a concussion and is out indefinitely.
Pietrus took a scary fall against the Sixers on Friday night and had to be stretchered off. He'll now need to go through the league's concussion protocol before being cleared for a return. The problem is that Pietrus is not even ready to take his baseline test yet, so a return to the court is a ways off.

Sat Mar 24 201211:19Mickael Pietrus cleared to travel to Boston
Mickael Pietrus (head injury) has been cleared to travel and will be re-evaluated by the Celtics' medical staff once in Boston.
We're considering Pietrus 'out indefinitely', but this is great news considering how scary the injury seemed when it happened. His absence is just one more hurdle for the resilient Celtics, who have already lost two starters (Jermaine O'Neal and Jeff Green) and one rotation player (Chris Wilcox).

Updating a previous report, Mickael Pietrus suffered a "questionable closed head injury," which is also being called a concussion, and will stay overnight in Philadelphia, although he won't be admitted into a hospital.
Pietrus had an X-ray and CT scan on Friday night, and will also get an MRI done soon. Once we know more we will pass the news on.

Fri Mar 23 201221:07Pietrus taken off the court on a stretcher
Mickael Pietrus was taken off the floor in the second quarter of Friday's game on a stretcher after what appeared to be a neck or head injury.
Pietrus leaves with four points, two rebounds, and a steal in 12 minutes of action, and we're still hoping to get a positive report on his health as it looked pretty serious. It will be up to Keyon Dooling, Marquis Daniels, JaJuan Johnson, Sasha Pavlovic, and E'Twaun Moore to pick up the slack. None of them stands out as an emerging fantasy option if Pietrus' injury is serious.

Mickael Pietrus came off the bench to hit 5-of-6 shots, all 3-pointers, for 15 points and three assists in Wednesday's win.
Pietrus is worth keeping an eye on going forward, but simply got hot tonight, and should remain on waiver wires in most leagues.

Mickael Pietrus rolled his ankle but returned to finish Sunday's game with five points in 11 minutes.
Pietrus was already dealing with a knee injury but he appears to have avoided any serious problems. All of Boston's starters played 35+ minutes vs. the Lakers, and Doc Rivers needs all the healthy players he can get.

Fri Mar 9 201211:31Mickael Pietrus a game-time call on Friday
Mickael Pietrus (knee) is a game-time decision on Friday against the Blazers.
Pietrus' knee has flared up at different junctures this season and he's dealing with it once again. He's been an integral part of Boston's rotation, and his absence would likely result in heavier minutes for both Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.

Fri Mar 2 201222:48Pietrus gets the start for Ray Allen (flu)
Michael Pietrus got the start in place of Ray Allen (flu) on Friday night, and was able to chip in 11 points and five rebounds.
Pietrus will head back to the bench when Allen returns, and his minutes are simply too sporadic to allow fantasy owners to trust him. He shouldn't be owned except in the deepest of leagues.

Wed Feb 22 201223:14Pietrus starts at PF, finishes w/ 16 & 7
Mickael Pietrus started at power forward for the injury-depleted Celtics on Wednesday night, and he finished with 16 points (including two 3's), seven rebounds and two assists.
The fact that Pietrus started at power forward tonight should tell you everything you need to know about the C's right now: they are beat up. He played a whopping 43 minutes, as well. Pietrus value depends on Boston's health, as he has produced whenever forced into action. However, if the team ever gets healthy, he won't have a big enough role to be worth a roster spot in most leagues. But, that's a big "if."

Wed Feb 22 201218:09Pietrus starting at power forward Wednesday
Mickael Pietrus is slated to start at power forward against the Thunder on Wednesday.
Even though he's starting at the four, Pietrus will probably spend most of his night spotting up for 3s. He has averaged 12.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 threes in his other two starts this season.

Tue Feb 21 201201:42Pietrus posts meaty line in garbage scenario
Mickael Pietrus scored six points on 2-of-8 shooting (2-of-6 from downtown) with 12 rebounds and four assists in 34 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Pietrus has done fairly well whenever the Celtics backcourt has been banged up, and with Rajon Rondo sitting another game out due to suspension there's a chance he has a decent night on Wednesday against the Thunder, too. If guys like Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) and Chris Wilcox (thigh) cannot go, it won't hurt matters, either.

Thu Feb 16 201201:22Pietrus (knee) returns on Wednesday
Mickael Pietrus (knee) returned to action on Wednesday, playing 16 minutes with just two rebounds to his credit.
Pietrus missed all three of his shot attempts, and his value is limited to times that the Celtics have suffered two or more injuries in their backcourt. In those moments, he has actually been a nice spot-play this season.

As expected, Mickael Pietrus will be active for Wednesday's game vs. Detroit.

Wed Feb 15 201211:42Mickael Pietrus expects to play on Wednesday
Mickael Pietrus (knee) "should play" on Wednesday against the Pistons.
Pietrus, like Garnett, was considered doubtful on Tuesday, but each is feeling well enough that they were able to go through shootaround. Pietrus' health is going to be vital to the team without Brandon Bass (knee) available.
