Mon Aug 19 201309:20Raymond Felton 'loves' Beno Udrih
Raymond Felton said he loves Beno Udrih on Sunday.
"I love Beno," Felton said. "I think Beno is one of the most underrated point guards in this league. He's going to help us tremendously, without a doubt." The Knicks did a nice job replacing Jason Kidd with Beno and their three-deep depth at point guard with Pablo Prigioni is a bit of a luxury. Udrih is unlikely to have much fantasy value while Felton is healthy.

Sat Aug 10 201311:20Beno Udrih says Knicks contacted him July 1
Beno Udrih says the Knicks contacted him and sent him a recruiting video when free agency opened July 1.
Udrih took a one-year deal worth the veteran's minimum because he believes the Knicks have a shot at the title. Udrih won't be a fantasy dynamo, or even worth adding in almost any league, but he should be a solid depth piece on a veteran bench in New York.

Fri Aug 9 201309:20Beno Udrih turned down more lucrative offers
Ben Udrih turned down at least one offer more than the minimum to play for the Knicks this upcoming season.
His agent, Marc Cornstein, said he turned down "many offers," which is hardly a surprise with a handful of teams still looking for a third point guard. He's likely going to step in behind Pablo Prigioni to open camp and won't be worth drafting in almost any league.

Thu Aug 8 201310:10Update: Beno Udrih will sign with Knicks
Updating a previous item, Beno Udrih will sign a one-year deal at the veteran minimum with the Knicks.
It's a solid pickup for the Knicks and they have been able to maximum their dollars and exceptions with players like Udrih and Metta World Peace at relatively cheap deals. Udrih will backup Raymond Felton and will have to battle Pablo Prigioni for minutes. Prigioni was a key part of the Knicks' 13-game winning streak last year, so the 31-year-old Udrih has his work cut out for him.

Thu Aug 8 201309:12Knicks leading the way on Beno Udrih
The Knicks are the favorite to land unrestricted free agent Beno Udrih.
It's a mild surprise that Udrih is still out there and the Knicks can only offer a one-year $1.4 million deal to the point guard. The team is believed to be close to a $1.27 million contract and it can be agreed upon as soon as Thursday. Beno would split backup duties with Pablo Prigioni and even though he has a useful fantasy game with steals and threes, he won't be worth starting while Raymond Felton is healthy.

Fri Aug 2 201315:47Beno Udrih interested in Beno Udrih
The Grizzlies are reportedly expressing interest in free agent PG Beno Udrih.
Udrih may be a backup plan in case the Grizz can't lure Mo Williams in as their backup point guard. The Knicks are also in the mix for Udrih's services, but can only offer a one-year, $1.4 million deal. The Grizzlies can offer more.

Fri Aug 2 201311:23Five teams interested in Beno Udrih
There are five teams interested in unrestricted free agent Beno Udrih, according to his agent, Marc Cornstein.
The Knicks are believed to be one of the teams, but given their tight cap space, it'll be tough to bring him on at what projects to be his market value. Cornstein has New York ties and was able to bring Metta World Peace to the Knicks, so they're not to be ruled out at this point.

Wed Jul 31 201312:33Knicks 'trying hard' to sign FA Beno Udrih
The Knicks are "trying hard" to convince Beno Udrih to accept the veteran's minimum, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Udrih hasn't received much attention this summer but he's one of the best remaining backup PGs, a position of need for New York. He felt stifled in a small role with the Bucks last year and any team vying for him will need to convince him there's available playing time. He averaged 10.2 points, 6.1 assists and 0.9 steals in 27 minutes per game with the Magic last season, and he thrived as a starter while Jameer Nelson was injured.

Thu Jul 11 201315:01Magic will not re-sign Beno Udrih this summer
The Orlando Magic have decided not to re-sign PG Beno Udrih this summer, according to beat writer Josh Robbins.
Udrih was unlikely to return to Orlando, but this should put the cork in it. Orlando is apparently wary of putting any long-term deals on their books at the moment. Udrih should still be able to garner some interest as a backup PG.

Mon Jul 1 201318:08Report: Beno Udrih unlikely to sign w/ Magic
Free agent PG Beno Udrih is "less likely" to sign with the Magic this summer, according to his agent.
The source of this report, Sean Deveney, cites the Celtics and Wizards as two teams who might have interest in Udrih. The veteran guard has been dissatisfied with his playing time ever since the 2010-11 season with the Kings, when he averaged 13.7 points and 4.9 assists in 35 minutes per game, but he's likely to reprise a backup PG role no matter where he signs.

Mon Apr 15 201323:00Beno disappears in loss to the Bulls
Beno Udrih disappeared in the Magic's 102-84 loss to the Bulls on Monday, scoring five points on 2-of-7 shooting (including a three) to go with just one assist in 23 minutes.
Unless we get surprising news that Jameer Nelson will play in the finale, owners should trot Udrih out there in most cases.

Wed Apr 10 201323:06Udrih takes 22 shots, scores 13 points
Beno Udrih wasn't shy about shooting on Wednesday, making 6-of-22 from the field for 13 points to go with four boards, 11 assists, two steals and one 3-pointer against the Bucks.
Jameer Nelson is still day-to-day with his ankle injury, but he didn't really have much of a shot to play tonight. Udrih has been been solid in the five previous games without Jameer, averaging 17.8 points, 7.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 triples on 50 percent shooting. He's a must-start player as long as Nelson is out.

Sat Apr 6 201300:47Beno Udrih posts 27-5-7 line in loss to CHI
Beno Udrih scored 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting (including three treys) with five rebounds, seven assists and two steals in Friday's one-point loss to the Bulls.
Udrih has been a must-start player while Jameer Nelson is out, and he's also giving the Magic every reason to let Nelson sit. Just enjoy the ride until the wheels fall off.

Wed Apr 3 201322:45Beno Udrih sizzles in another start
Beno Udrih had 14 points, eight assists, three rebounds, three steals and two 3-pointers in Wednesday's loss to the Spurs.
Udrih continues to prove that he's a starting-caliber NBA point guard. Over the last four games, he's averaging 15.2 points, 8.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds while playing 37.0 minutes per night. Jameer Nelson hasn't shown much progress with his ankle injury, so the good times will keep rolling for Beno.

Tue Apr 2 201300:23Beno Udrih stays hot as Jameer Nelson sits
Beno Udrih made another start at point guard on Monday and had 17 points, 10 assists and a three 3-pointers on 6-of-10 shooting in the Magic's loss to the Rockets.
Udrih had 20 points and a near triple-double on Saturday, and as long as Nelson is out with his ankle injury, Udrih is in must-start territory. And even if Jameer can play, Udrih will continue to see plenty of minutes as his backup, as well as time at shooting guard.

Sat Mar 30 201322:09Beno Udrih has 20-7-8 as Magic's starting PG
With Jameer Nelson (ankle) unavailable, Beno Udrih started at PG and had 20 points, two 3-pointers, seven rebounds, eight assists and one steal in a loss to the Hawks.
Udrih had nine assists after Nelson got hurt on Friday, so there was at least some forewarning that he'd start ahead of E'Twaun Moore. Moore finished tonight's game with four points in 17 minutes, and Udrih looks like a decent bet if Jameer misses many more games.

Sat Mar 30 201318:59Beno Udrih starting at point guard Saturday
Beno Udrih will start at point guard for the Magic on Saturday.
The move makes sense for the Magic since they're so shallow on the win. E'Twaun Moore can come off the bench and play at both guard spots and should still be a major factor in the rotation. Udrih shot just 25 percent from the floor in his previous three games, so Moore seems like a slightly safer pickup with all things being equal for your team.

Fri Mar 29 201323:16Beno Udrih just misses a double-double
Beno Udrih shot 2-of-8 from the field for 10 points with four boards, nine assists, one steal and one 3-pointer against the Wizards in a 97-92 win on Friday.
The Magic may have lost Jameer Nelson for the foreseeable future and Beno figures to run a large portion of the offense. Despite his struggles in shooting the ball lately, Udrih is worth owning for anyone that needs assists.

Mon Mar 25 201322:51Udrih struggles in first game after AA injury
Beno Udrih hit just 1-of-9 shots for seven points to go with four rebounds, five assists and two steals over 37 minutes on Monday.
Udrih took a shot to the chin from teammate Kyle O'Quinn and also ended up on the wrong end of a LeBron highlight, but he stayed in the game and will be better the next time out. With Magic players dropping like flies, he should get plenty of burn.

Fri Mar 22 201323:13Beno Udrih plays 36 minutes on Friday
Beno Udrih logged 36 minutes with Arron Afflalo leaving early due to a hamstring injury on Friday, and finished with 13 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Udrih hit 5-of-10 shots (including a three) and will slide into a 25-35 minute role if Afflalo misses time, and since Afflalo was helped off the court by teammates that wouldn't be all that surprising. Consider Udrih a short-term add for standard formats at this time.
