Mon Feb 27 201217:14Drew Gooden (wrist) back practicing for Bucks
Drew Gooden (wrist) participated in Bucks practice Monday.
Gooden appears to have the same kind of wrist ligament injury that Kobe Bryant and Luol Deng have sustained. Both of them continue to play at a high level. Gooden hasn't played in nearly two weeks, but he's at least questionable for Tuesday's game against the Wizards. Gooden has averaged 17.1 points and 7.7 rebounds in 17 starts in place of Andrew Bogut (ankle) this season.

Wed Feb 22 201219:36Drew Gooden hopes to return next week
Drew Gooden says the torn ligament in his wrist is similar to Kobe Bryant's injury, and that he hopes to return to action next week, just after the All-Star break.
"It's probably a similar injury to what Kobe (Bryant) has," Gooden said. "It sounds like we're going through the same thing...I think this rest during the break will do me good, and I look forward to be back in uniform after the break and take it from there." This means Gooden should be held in most leagues, and can be picked up if he was dropped. We'll just have to see how his pain tolerance is next week, which will likely determine if and how much he'll actually play.

Wed Feb 22 201218:53Drew Gooden has torn ligament in wrist
Drew Gooden said Wednesday that he has a torn ligment in his right wrist, but hopes to be ready to return after the All-Star break.
Exactly when that return would happen remains anyone's guess, but the fact there's no mention of surgery and he's planning to play again this season is good news. Hopefully we'll get a timetable of exactly when he hopes to play again before the weekend. And yes, it is possible that he's talking about returning just after the All-Star break.

Wed Feb 22 201212:21Drew Gooden ruled out for Wednesday's game
Drew Gooden (wrist) remains out for the Bucks on Wednesday.
Gooden was getting a second opinion and was realistically never a candidate to play on Wednesday. There has been no update on his condition and the Bucks will continue to lean on Larry Sanders and Jon Leuer inside, but Ersan Ilyasova is the biggest beneficiary from a fantasy standpoint.

Tue Feb 21 201209:44Drew Gooden getting second opinion on wrist
Drew Gooden (wrist) is headed to get a second opinion on his injury.
Not good news for his owners. We've been warning that the injury to his shooting wrist could prove to be troublesome, and the fact that he's getting an outside opinion is not exactly a ringing endorsement that he's on the comeback trail. Milwaukee is already hurting inside with Andrew Bogut (ankle) out indefinitely, and owners should keep Gooden on the bench until he's given a definitive diagnosis.

Tue Feb 21 201207:30Drew Gooden uncertain for Wednesday's game
Drew Gooden's (wrist) status for Wednesday's game is uncertain.
Gooden has missed three straight games with the injury, and it would be surprising to see him back as the Bucks have the chance to give him an extended rest period with the All-Star break looming. Owners will have to continue to be patient until the Bucks provide a more clarity on his timetable.

Mon Feb 20 201219:07Drew Gooden (wrist) out on Monday
Drew Gooden (wrist) and Tobias Harris (shoulder) will not play on Monday against the Magic.
Gooden's shooting wrist is a real concern for owners and with injury news very hard to come by out of Milwaukee owners will have to step carefully here. We don't think that a drop should be considered in most cases, given the timing of the All Star break. If he's still missing time after a full week's worth of rest, then it will be time to consider dropping him.

Mon Feb 20 201209:22Drew Gooden listed as day-to-day
Drew Gooden (wrist) was not with the Bucks Sunday.
Gooden is officially listed as day-to-day ahead of Monday's game against the Magic, but it seems highly unlikely he'll rejoin the team in the second half of a back-to-back. Complicating matters is the fact that Gooden's shooting wrist is the one that is sprained. The Bucks are going to need a committee at center to deal with Dwight Howard.

Sun Feb 19 201201:16Drew Gooden not likely for Bucks Sunday
Drew Gooden isn't likely to play at New Jersey on Sunday due to lingering problems with his wrist and knee.
He didn't accompany the team to Orlando for Friday's game, and since he's not on the road trip, it makes sense that he will not play on Sunday, either. We're still awaiting an update on when he'll be ready to go again, but until we get more information, it's probably best just to keep Gooden benched until we know more. Ersan Ilyasova started on Friday, and should do so again on Sunday.

Fri Feb 17 201212:57Drew Gooden (wrist) ruled out for Friday
Drew Gooden (wrist, knee) has been ruled out for the Bucks game on Friday in Orlando.
According to head coach Scott Skiles, Gooden remained in Milwaukee due to his sprained right wrist and knee soreness. Jon Leuer is starting in Gooden's place on Friday night, however there is no concrete timetable on how long Gooden is expected to be sidelined, so Leuer merely remains a "watch" for now.

Thu Feb 16 201223:42Gooden dealing with shooting wrist injury
Drew Gooden is reportedly dealing with a right (shooting) wrist injury and was expected to see a specialist on Thursday.
According to beat writer Gery Woelfel, the he has had the injury all year and it isn't getting better. It's also the reason why Gooden has dipped to just over 25 minutes in his past two games. We're not sure if this will severely limit him going forward or not, but we know what impact shooting wrist injuries can have if they're serious. Plan accordingly, and we're putting him on the injury report until we learn more.

Tue Feb 7 201223:43Drew Gooden scores season-high 25 in loss
Drew Gooden had just four rebounds, but also hit 12-of-21 shots to score a season-high 25 points in Tuesday's loss to the Suns.
He also had a block and, as we predicted, has become a must-own player in the absence of Andrew Bogut. Keep him in your lineup until further notice.

Sun Feb 5 201200:20Drew Gooden scores 24 points in loss to Bulls
Drew Gooden, who scored just four points on Friday, had 24 points, three rebounds, one steal and one block in Saturday's blowout loss to Chicago.
Gooden made 7-of-13 FGs and 10-of-10 FTs in under 30 minutes, salvaging the week for fantasy owners who suffered through Friday's dud. He should continue to be a serviceable fantasy PF/C with Andrew Bogut out of commission, so keep him active.

Sat Feb 4 201201:39Gooden plays just 23 minutes vs. Pistons
Drew Gooden played just 23 minutes against the Pistons on Friday, scoring four points on 1-of-8 shooting with four rebounds and two assists.
We're guessing the bad shooting and the fact that Greg Monroe (18 points, 11 boards) was a beast contributed to this low minute-total. Larry Sanders (four points, three boards) drew 20 minutes as another big, shot-blocking body to throw at Monroe, so there is enough here for owners to give Gooden a pass -- especially since he has been a monster lately.

Sat Jan 28 201223:37Gooden does it again as Bucks beat Lakers
Drew Gooden made another start at center for the Bucks and had 23 points, eight rebounds, a steal and a 3-pointer on 9-of-15 shooting as the Bucks stunned the Lakers in Milwaukee on Saturday.
Gooden is a beast with Andrew Bogut out for much of the rest of the season, and is flying off waiver wires in all leagues. If he's still available in yours, go get him now. He had 23 points, 15 boards, six dimes, a 3-pointer and a block on Friday night.

Fri Jan 27 201214:38Gooden to replace Bogut in starting lineup
Head coach Scott Skiles announced that Drew Gooden will start at center for the Bucks with Andrew Bogut out, but that Ersan Ilyasova will also play as center in certain situations as well.
"If (Ilyasova) and Luc (Mbah a Moute) are in there together - for instance, last year they both did a great job on (Roy) Hibbert by just not letting him catch the ball - they both have the quickness to front," Skiles said. "Nothing against Drew, but not really his game." Skiles has been one of the most maddening coaches this season from a fantasy perspective and the latest situation at C seems to be no different. Gooden is definitely the pickup here, but keep in mind Skiles has not been afraid to switch it up early and often.

Thu Jan 26 201200:41Drew Gooden should see bump in minutes
Drew Gooden replaced injured Andrew Bogut Wednesday night and had 11 points, two rebounds, three steals and a block in 28 minutes.
Bogut is going to likely miss a couple games with a badly sprained ankle and Gooden was a force earlier in the season when starting for Bogut. Ersan Ilyasova blew up for 19 rebounds in 28 minutes tonight, and is another player to consider as a short-term fill-in for Bogut.

Mon Jan 16 201216:31Drew Gooden back to earth
Drew Gooden played just four minutes in Monday's loss to the Sixers.
With Andre Bogut (concussion) healthy, Gooden barely got off the pine. He's mere insurance at the center spot for the Bucks.

Sat Jan 14 201201:38Gooden quiet in start for Andrew Bogut
Drew Gooden started for injured Andrew Bogut (concussion) in Friday's blowout loss, but scored just eight points on 4-of-9 shooting with three rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes.
Gooden had averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds, and a steal in his four spot-starts prior to tonight, so we'll cut him some slack when the entire team struggled. Bogut failed league-mandated concussion tests, and we have no idea how long he'll be out. This gives Gooden some longer-term appeal, so taking a flier on him for more than just spot-start value makes sense if you need a big man.

Fri Jan 13 201220:01Gooden to start for Bogut on Friday
Drew Gooden will start for Andrew Bogut (concussion) on Friday.
Gooden has performed quite well starting whenever Bogut is out, and as we know with Bucks concussion injuries they can be both secretive and long-term. We don't have any information to that effect so far, but it's something to think about if you're taking a flier on a long-term big man. Jon Leuer's outlook also improves slightly with this report, but they all face the same log-jam issues once Bogut and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (knee) return to action.
