Mon Nov 11 2013 | 22:47 | Henderson, Walker to decline with Al back? |
Gerald Henderson and Kemba Walker combined to hit 6-of-19 shots in the Bobcats' 103-94 loss to the Hawks. |
Henderson finished with 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting, one rebound and three assists, and Walker hit just 3-of-11 shots for 12 points, two rebounds, three assists and one steal. The concern here is that Al Jefferson stagnates the Bobcats' offense, but we're going to wait for a few games before declaring this a trend. Struggling to get assimilated in the first game back for Big Al was to be expected. |

Sat Nov 9 2013 | 02:42 | Henderson scores 18; Walker scores 25 |
Gerald Henderson kept things moving for his owners in the Bobcats' 101-91 loss to the Knicks on Friday, scoring 18 points on 7-of-18 shooting with nine rebounds, one assist and one steal in 36 minutes. |
Henderson's game doesn't exactly pair up with that of Al Jefferson (ankle), who could be returning at any time, but that shouldn't put owners into anything but a sell-high mode. Henderson will continue to play a significant role for the Bobcats all season, profiling as a late-round as deficient peripherals depress his value. Kemba Walker scored 25 points on 8-of-22 shooting with five assists and a perfect 8-for-8 mark from the stripe. |

Wed Nov 6 2013 | 22:41 | Gerald Henderson's slump officially over |
Gerald Henderson hit 13-of-17 shots for a season-high 23 points to go along with three rebounds, four assists and two steals in Wednesday's win. |
He had 18 points and eight boards on Tuesday and it looks like his early rough start isn't going to be a permanent predicament. If he was dropped in your league, think about grabbing him. |

Tue Nov 5 2013 | 23:25 | Gerald Henderson finally shows up for Cats |
Gerald Henderson finally broke out of a season-long slump on Tuesday by hitting 5-of-13 shots and a 3-pointer for 18 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in a win over the Knicks. |
We've all been wondering where his game has been and while his shooting wasn't great, the production was. Hopefully this is a sign of better things to come for Henderson. |

Fri Nov 1 2013 | 22:35 | Henderson hits 2-of-10 shots in win |
Gerald Henderson hit just 2-of-10 shots for 10 points, three rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes against the Cavs on Friday. |
Henderson saved his night with a 6-of-8 mark from the foul line and owners should probably just chalk this up to early season rust and move on. The real issue will be how Al Jefferson's return impacts him, which needless to say is a bit disconcerting since he's already struggling without Jefferson around. |

Thu Oct 24 2013 | 21:56 | Gerald Henderson scores 19 points vs. CLE |
Gerald Henderson shot 7-of-13 from the field for 19 points with three boards, five assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes on Thursday. |
He had three consecutive 3-of-10 shooting performance before this game, so it was nice to see him knock down some shots. Henderson is expected to be a key scorer for the Bobcats and his 18.9 points per game after the break went a little unnoticed. He won't hit many threes, but the points and steals with good percentages should be there. |

Sat Oct 12 2013 | 22:58 | Gerald Henderson quiet in win vs. Milwaukee |
Gerald Henderson made 1-of-9 field goals vs. the Bucks on Saturday, finishing with four points in 28 minutes. |
If that wasn't bleak enough, he had only one rebound without any assists, steals or blocks. This game can be thrown out the window for evaluation purposes, however, and Henderson's averages after the All-Star break last year give a more realistic baseline -- 18.9 points, 0.4 threes, 4.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.6 steals per game. |

Fri Sep 20 2013 | 17:17 | Gerald Henderson can be a priority scorer |
Head coach Steve Clifford said that Gerald Henderson can be a "priority scorer" and could make "another big jump" this season. |
The Bobcats somehow were able to bring Hendo back at the inexpensive price of $18 million over three years. Henderson was great in the second half of last season, scoring 18.9 points per game in that span and should provide much of the scoring punch with Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson this year. If he can make more 3-pointers, he'll have a nice ceiling in fantasy leagues. |

Tue Aug 6 2013 | 15:14 | Gerald Henderson focusing on his 3-point shot |
Gerald Henderson said he's focused on his 3-point shot this offseason. |
"I know that is the direction our team is going," Henderson said, referring to an inside-out offense built around new center Al Jefferson. Heading into last season, Henderson was a 21.5 percent (22-of-102) 3-point shooter for his career. Last year, he showed significant improvement at 33.0 percent (33-of-100). If Henderson can get up around 36 percent, he'll push for 50 treys thanks to the added attempts he'll be seeing. |

Mon Aug 5 2013 | 14:30 | Gerald Henderson works on 3-point shooting |
Gerald Henderson expects to have more open perimeter shots this season, and he's working hard to improve as a 3-point shooter. |
Henderson shot 33.0 percent from downtown last year, easily a career-high, and he's excited about the arrival of Cody Zeller and Al Jefferson. "I think with more attention on guys down low it frees up the perimeter a bunch," he said. "With Al, teams are going to have to double team him so you have more chances for open shots." Henderson has already met with coach Steve Clifford four times, and he'll take a leadership role this season as the Bobcats' captain and longest-tenured player. |

Mon Jul 29 2013 | 09:10 | Henderson's deal has a third-year option |
Updating a previous item, Gerald Henderson's contract allows him to terminate the deal after the 2014-15 season. |
He also reportedly took less money to stay with the team, which explains some of the reason why the contract looks to be so cheap at $18 million. Comparatively speaking, it's one of the best contracts of the offseason and Hendo's 18.9 points per game after the All-Star break ranked 20th in the NBA. The 25-year-old guard should have some nice production even with the Bobcats getting a little better. |

Fri Jul 26 2013 | 20:37 | Gerald Henderson finalizing deal with CHA |
Gerald Henderson is finalizing a three-year, $18 million deal with the Bobcats. |
Considering Timofey Mozgov got a three-year, $14 million deal earlier today, this looks like a winner for Charlotte. Of course, that Mozgov deal might be the worst contract of the offseason. Henderson had himself a strong second half, averaging 18.9 points, 4.0 boards and 1.0 steals on 46.3 percent shooting in 35.9 minutes. He should have a similar role as far as minutes go, but Al Jefferson should command the ball, which suggests Hendo's 12.6 shots per game will go down. |

Tue Jul 16 2013 | 20:42 | Gerald Henderson and Bobcats still talking |
Gerald Henderson and the Bobcats are still in discussions about him returning to the team, but aren't close to a contract. |
The sides don't appear to be close on a money agreement, which means this could go either way. It's hard to imagine the Bobcats not eventually working out a deal with Henderson, but stranger things have happened in the house that Jordan built. |

Fri Jul 12 2013 | 16:48 | Bobcats, Henderson reps had positive talks |
Talks between the Bobcats and Gerald Henderson's reps had a "positive tone," according to beat writer Rick Bonnell. |
The Bobcats' first priority is to re-sign the restricted free agent and any mention of positivity is a good thing. However, they also have reportedly engaged other teams in trade talks. It's unclear how much Henderson is looking for, but it's clearly higher than the Bobcats are currently willing to offer up despite Henderson's strong finish last season. |

Thu Jul 11 2013 | 08:42 | Bobcats still prefer to keep Gerald Henderson |
Updating a previous item, the Bobcats still prefer to keep restricted free agent Gerald Henderson. |
Late Wednesday night Yahoo! reported that the Bobcats are exploring sign-and-trade possibilities due to Henderson and the team being at an "impasse" on contract negotiations. Henderson played well down the stretch last season, scoring in double figures for the last 24 games of the season, so he may believe he deserves a little extra money. Charlotte does have the room to sign him, so if Hendo ends up with another team, they may be back in on the Monta Ellis pursuit. |

Thu Jul 11 2013 | 00:05 | CHA talking Gerald Henderson sign and trade? |
The Bobcats are exploring sign-and-trade possibilities with multiple teams for restricted free agent Gerald Henderson, Adrian Wojnarowski reports. |
Charlotte and Henderson can't seem to come together on terms of a contract and are at an "impasse," according to Wojnarowski. Hendo turned in a terrific year last season, averaging 15.5 points per game on 44.7 percent shooting. He should receive plenty of interest from teams that are under the cap. |

Tue Jul 2 2013 | 09:19 | Bobcats 'motivated' to keep Gerald Henderson |
The Bobcats are reportedly "motivated" to retain restricted FA Gerald Henderson. |
Charlotte can match any offer for Henderson, and it seems that they will. Thus far he's been lost in the free agent shuffle, but things should heat up once a few bigger-name players verbal agree to contracts. |

Fri Jun 28 2013 | 13:43 | Gerald Henderson gets qualifying offer |
Gerald Henderson received a qualifying offer from the Bobcats on Friday, Rick Bonnell Reports. |
The Bobcats put a lot of responsibility on Hendo last season and he didn't disappoint. After the break, he averaged 18.9 points, 4.0 boards, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.4 3-pointers in 35.9 minutes per game. Charlotte didn't exactly get better on Thursday through the draft, so fantasy owners can probably expect late-mid round production from Henderson. |

Mon Apr 15 2013 | 21:59 | Gerald Henderson scores 27 points |
Gerald Henderson scored 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting with three boards, five assists, one block and one 3-pointer in 39 minutes on Monday. |
He entered tonight ranked 15th in total points since the All-Star break and he didn't slow down tonight. Hendo is very unlikely to be in such a featured role next year, so he's not going to be someone worth a high pick in next season's drafts. |

Sat Mar 30 2013 | 23:43 | Bobcats lose despite strong game from Hendo |
Gerald Henderson, who averaged 34.5 points in his previous two games, finished Saturday's defeat with 19 points on 8-of-18 shooting, three boards, seven assists, two steals and zero turnovers. |
At 17-56 the Bobcats easily have the worst record in the NBA. The only good news is that they'll have a very good chance of landing the No. 1 draft pick for 2013, and they have a talented group of young players who have shown varying degrees of improvement this year, foremost among them Kemba Walker, Henderson, Bismack Biyombo and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. |
