Thu Feb 6 2014 | 14:45 | Andrew Bynum unlikely to play until late Feb. |
Pacers coach Frank Vogel said that it's "unlikely" Andrew Bynum will play during the first week following the All-Star break. |
The Pacers want Bynum to be fully comfortable with their system before potentially disrupting the rotation by bringing him off the bench, even if it's only for short spurts in relief of Roy Hibbert. With a nebulous debut date and a limited role awaiting him, there's no reason to go near Bynum in average fantasy leagues. |

Thu Feb 6 2014 | 13:43 | Andrew Bynum not practicing Thursday |
Andrew Bynum did not participate in Thursday's practice. |
There is no word as to why Bynum didn't practice, but we're going to assume the reason is merely related to travel and acclimating to his new team until we hear otherwise. Coach Frank Vogel had suggested that Bynum won't see game action until he's practiced with the team for a few weeks, so every day he's not practicing is another day closer to being less valuable to fantasy owners at this point. Until we see Bynum back on the court and seeing consistent minutes, fantasy owners should stay away. |

Mon Feb 3 2014 | 10:11 | Andrew Bynum may not debut for weeks |
Pacers coach Frank Vogel suggested that Andrew Bynum won't make his debut until he's practiced with the team for a few weeks. |
Bynum isn't even expected to join the team until the middle of the week, and the Pacers are in no rush to wedge him into the rotation. His sheer size may be of use in the playoffs, and it's a relatively low-risk gamble for the Pacers, but fantasy owners should steer clear of Bynum. |

Sat Feb 1 2014 | 10:26 | Pacers sign Andrew Bynum for rest of season |
Pacers sign C Andrew Bynum. |
The deal is guaranteed for the rest of the season. "He gives us added size, he is a skilled big man and he has championship experience," said team president Larry Bird. "With the minutes he gets, he should be a valuable addition." Bynum will join Ian Mahinmi as backups for Roy Hibbert, and his addition has more real-world intrigue than fantasy implications. He averaged just 8.4 points on 42 percent shooting with Cleveland earlier this season, and he's not worth owning in standard leagues. |

Sat Feb 1 2014 | 09:15 | Report: Andrew Bynum to sign with Pacers |
Andrew Bynum will sign with the Pacers on Saturday "barring an unforeseen snag," according to Adrian Wojnarowski. |
Bynum met with Indiana on Friday night and was seen walking into Bankers Life Fieldhouse again on Saturday morning. He's drawn interest from at least four other teams, including the Heat, but it sounds like he'll help Ian Mahinmi back up Roy Hibbert as the Pacers march toward the playoffs. The impending signing has more real-world intrigue than fantasy implications, and after his poor play in Cleveland he's not worth owning in standard leagues. |

Thu Jan 16 2014 | 10:22 | Miami Heat interested in Andrew Bynum? |
Heat president Pat Reilly downplayed speculation that Miami might be interested in Bynum. |
"It's all speculation," Riley said. "That's all it is. There will be a tremendous amount of research (on free agents). There's nothing going at all. There's nothing happening at all with that situation." With Greg Oden looking good in his first game action of the season Wednesday, the Heat may not have a need for the former Laker/Sixer/Cavalier center. However, Oden isn't the most durable player in the league so there could be something to this rumor if the injury bug bites Oden again sometime soon. |

Sun Jan 12 2014 | 14:37 | Report: Pacers are interested in Andrew Bynum |
The Pacers are among the teams to express "exploratory interest" in free agent Andrew Bynum, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com |
The Clippers are also leaning away from the idea of signing Bynum. The Pacers having interest is a bit strange considering they have some of the best team chemistry in the NBA. Ian Mahinmi has missed a lot of rotations on defense, but he's been somewhat solid in post defense. If the Pacers bring him in it might just be on a 10-day deal. |

Sun Jan 12 2014 | 10:06 | Cuban: Mavs unlikely to get Andrew Bynum |
Mark Cuban downplayed the Mavericks' chances of signing Andrew Bynum since his team can't offer more than a minimum salary. |
"It's not to say we wouldn't consider him," said Cuban, whose teams currently sits at No. 8 in the Western Conference. He added that the "Bank of Cuban" is always open, "even on Saturdays and Sunday," but a splashy acquisition may not come until the summer when Dallas will have only $26 million guaranteed to seven players. |

Fri Jan 10 2014 | 12:46 | Report: Clippers have interest in Bynum |
According to the L.A. Times, the Clippers are interested in free agent C Andrew Bynum. |
Per beat writer Brad Turner, the Clippers "have gone back and forth" on whether to sign Bynum, and are having more internal discussions. Just about every team in the league could use a talented 7-footer, but Bynum is on the street because his declining play hasn't matched up with his off-court headaches. Even if he signs with the Clips, he'd be a bit big man behind DeAndre Jordan. |

Thu Jan 9 2014 | 19:21 | Free agent Andrew Bynum clears waivers |
Free agent Andrew Bynum cleared waivers Thursday evening. |
There are believed to be eight teams interested in signing Bynum, but it's a little hard to believe considering the lack of the market for him over the summer. All the tape on Bynum has been pretty sad and it's not a stretch to think he's not giving it his all. Any team taking a chance on him could jeopardize their team chemistry. |

Wed Jan 8 2014 | 12:10 | Mavs among eight teams eyeing Andrew Bynum |
The Mavericks are among eight teams interested in signing Andrew Bynum once he clears waivers, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. |
The Mavs can only offer Bynum a minimum contract, however, and money will reportedly be a "prime factor" when he decides where to sign. Fantasy owners should know to avoid him after he averaged 8.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 20 minutes per game with Cleveland this season, while shooting a career-low 41.9 percent from the field. |

Tue Jan 7 2014 | 15:22 | Bulls waive Andrew Bynum, avoid luxury tax |
Bulls waive C Andrew Bynum. |
Chicago made it official on Tuesday afternoon, hours before Bynum's contract would have become guaranteed for the season. The move gets them under the luxury-tax threshold. Bynum is sure to draw interest from contending teams looking to beef up their frontcourt, though no team is likely to pick up his contract off waivers. |

Tue Jan 7 2014 | 01:55 | Andrew Bynum sent to Bulls for Luol Deng |
Andrew Bynum and several draft picks were traded to the Bulls for Luol Deng early on Tuesday morning. |
Bynum is expected to quickly be waived so the Bulls won't have to pay his remaining $6.3 million 2013-14 salary and he'll become a free agent. His knees, attitude and passion for basketball (or reported lack thereof) leave his NBA future quite cloudy, but you can bet a contender will probably take a flier on him once the waivers process starts. |

Sun Jan 5 2014 | 23:19 | Lakers, Cavs still discussing Pau-for-Bynum |
The Lakers and Cavaliers have not found "common ground" in talks about a Pau Gasol-for-Andrew Bynum trade, but the teams are expected to continue discussions until Monday. |
The clock is ticking for any deal since the Lakers would require both players to clear physicals in time for Bynum to be waived before his deal is guaranteed for the rest of the season on Tuesday. The Lakers want to acquire young talent and/or draft picks in any Gasol deal, but the Cavs aren't willing to part with more than a second-round pick since Gasol could leave as a free agent this summer. Cleveland reportedly has two other potential deals, including one sending Bynum to the Jazz for Richard Jefferson, and either way a resolution is bound to be reached on Monday. |

Sat Jan 4 2014 | 22:41 | Cavs set Andrew Bynum deadline for Sunday |
The Cavs want to execute a trade for Andrew Bynum by Sunday. |
They'll want it to be processed before Tuesday's NBA deadline to save the Cavs six million dollars. The Cavs are also "making progress" on a deal that would involve Pau Gasol. This makes no sense for the Lakers from a business perspective and would hurt their brand a little bit for making a move that would suggest a rebuild is coming. Fantasy owners shouldn't be making any preemptive moves. |

Fri Jan 3 2014 | 20:27 | Cavs, Lakers in talks for Pau Gasol trade |
The Cavs and Lakers are still in talks for a trade involving Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum. |
Richard Jefferson's name has now also popped up for Bynum. Nothing appears to be imminent on either front and teams are not going to be offering the Cavs much because they have no leverage. The Jazz have been apprehensive in playing Enes Kanter because he slows down their tempo and can't defend inside, so the move doesn't make too much sense for them. Bynum might be cut on Jan. 7 and he can be left on the wire in almost all leagues. |

Tue Dec 31 2013 | 10:30 | Andrew Bynum on the trading block? |
Andrew Bynum (suspended) has come up in multiple trade rumors involving the Lakers and Bulls. |
One rumor has Bynum headed back to Los Angeles for Pau Gasol before reportedly being waived and another rumor has him headed to the windy city for Luol Deng (and again waived). Both moves would reportedly save the Lakers or Bulls over $20 million in salaries and luxury taxes, though neither deal seems to have legs as of yet. We'll be monitoring this situation closely as it's very possible that Bynum is with neither of the three teams in the near future. |

Mon Dec 30 2013 | 08:58 | Update: Cavs may hang onto Andrew Bynum |
Updating previous reports, the Cavaliers are still "considering holding onto [Andrew Bynum]" if they are unable to trade him before his contract becomes guaranteed on Jan. 7. |
Bynum will earn another $6 million this season if the Cavs hang onto him, but the second year of his contract won't be guaranteed until June 30. The Cavs might therefore be able to trade his 'expiring' contract for assets later in the year, but that seems like a shaky bet for Cleveland. The Clippers and Heat reportedly both have interest in adding Bynum for frontcourt depth, but no matter what happens this week Bynum's fantasy upside is severely limited. |

Sun Dec 29 2013 | 13:50 | Andrew Bynum excused from team activities |
Andrew Bynum's team-imposed suspension has ended but he's been excused from all activities with the Cavaliers, who are expected to waive him before Jan. 7. |
Bynum was suspended for 'conduct detrimental to the team' and the Cavs are cutting their losses by waiving him before his contract becomes guaranteed for the season. The Clippers and Heat are rumored to have interest in Bynum once he clears waivers. |
