Fri Dec 17 201023:00Kleiza starts, double-doubles in win
Linas Kleiza started for injured Sonny Weems (strained back) and had 18 points, 12 rebounds and three 3-pointers in Friday's win.
Kleiza is worth keeping an eye on and could be ready to reclaim his starting job from Weems.
Fri Dec 17 201019:12Kleiza starts, Weems to bench for Toronto
Linas Kleiza will start at SF for the Raptors on Friday, moving Sonny Weems to a backup role.
Kleiza isn't someone you need to add at all costs, but he's an intriguing fantasy option. Keep a close eye on him and feel free to make the move if you've got someone you've been looking for an excuse to cut.
Fri Dec 10 201023:20Kleiza has season-best night with 26 and 12
Linas Kleiza set season-bests in scoring and rebounding on Friday with 26 points on 11-of-16 shooting (including four threes), 12 rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 31 minutes off the bench.
Jose Calderon's (foot) absence created an opportunity for the bench to play heavy minutes, and Kleiza responded with his best game of the year. He hasn't done much lately, however, and with the crowded wing-situation in Toronto we wouldn't drop anybody of value to pick him up.
Mon Dec 6 201021:38Kleiza, Barbosa each score 12 in blowout loss
Linas Kleiza scored 12 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 5-of-12 shots from the field (including a three) with four rebounds, no assists, and no steals or blocks in 17 minutes of action.
We'd be weary of the production in a blowout loss if it hadn't come in such limited time, so we'll consider this a win for Kleiza, regardless. Whether it matters or not is another story.
Sun Dec 5 201016:51Kleiza sees just 10 minutes on Sunday
Linas Kleiza saw just 10 minutes of action on Sunday against the Knicks, failing to score after missing his only two field-goal attempts of the game.
Kleiza has seen his playing time reduced significantly since the first two weeks of the season, and his minutes have declined over each of the last five games. If you're going to own any Raptors bench player, it should be Jerryd Bayless or Leandro Barbosa, so cut bait on Kleiza if you haven't already.
Sun Nov 28 201015:55Kleiza plays 20 minutes, scores nine on Sun.
Linas Kleiza played 20 minutes off the bench on Sunday and scored nine points on 3-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, one three-pointer and one turnover.
For now, Kleiza will come off the bench while Reggie Evans recuperates from a fractured right foot. Also fighting for the minutes vacated by Evans are the more traditional power forwards in Joey Dorsey, who started and played 19 minutes, and Amir Johnson, who logged 20 minutes off the bench. This is a dicey situation, as Sunday's division of minutes between the three players suggest that head coach Jay Triano doesn't prefer any one over the other right now. Kleiza can be productive when given 30-plus minutes, but there's no telling how often he will have that opportunity. Because of that, his production will prove too inconsistent to be worth owning beyond deeper leagues.
Sat Nov 27 201001:45Kleiza, Amir, Peja in running for PF job
Linas Kleiza, Amir Johnson and Peja Stojakovic are all in the running for the starting power forward job now that Reggie Evans is out indefinitely with a broken right foot.
The Toronto Star's Doug Smith thinks Kleiza should get the job (see link), while Stojakovic has also been playing the four in his two games in Toronto. Then there's Johnson, who is the true PF of the group, but will likely struggle with foul trouble. Only Jay Triano knows which direction he's going to take, but early word is that Amir will start. All three players are sure to see a bump in minutes. Kleiza scored 18 points and had seven boards tonight, Amir had 11 points and six rebounds, while Peja had 13 points and three 3-pointers. All three players are worth a look on the waiver wire, and we'd rank them Amir, Kleiza and Peja as far as the waiver wire goes.

Sat Nov 27 201000:01Kleiza scores 18 in Friday's loss
Linas Kleiza hit 7-of-15 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds in Friday's loss to the Celtics.
Kleiza had scored a total of six points in his previous two games and is now locked into a nightly battle with Sonny Weems for production and minutes. And unfortunately, there's a good chance they will ruin each other's fantasy value, if they haven't already.
Wed Nov 24 201023:09Linas Kleiza disappears for Raptors
Linas Kleiza played just 13 minutes on Wednesday, finishing with four points in a win over the Sixers.
After a hot start he's scored eight or less points in six of his last nine games. The addition of Peja Stojakovic is probably not going to help matters and Kleiza can probably be dropped in most leagues. Yeah, we thought he had a ton of potential as a starter for the Raps this year, but he lost his job to Sonny Weems and appears to be losing confidence.
Fri Nov 19 201023:03Kleiza scores 17 off bench Friday
Linas Kleiza hit 7-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for 17 points and four rebounds in Friday's win.
He's coming off the bench behind Sonny Weems (13 points) who was in foul trouble early tonight. Weems has been hot and Kleiza is a good player, but as long as Weems is the one with the starting job, we think he's the one you want to own.
Wed Nov 17 201002:20Linas Kleiza returned to action on Tuesday November 16
Linas Kleiza returned to action on Tuesday November 16.
Tue Nov 16 201022:02Kleiza (Achilles) returns to action Tuesday
Linas Kleiza (Achilles) returned to action in Tuesday's game, scoring 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting with five rebounds and no assists in 20 minutes off the bench.
Sonny Weems replaced him in the starting lineup, scoring 16 points with three rebounds, two assists, and two treys in a pretty good showing, and it's anybody's guess how Jay Triano is going to handle them going forward. Kleiza's performance tonight at least keeps him on the radar.
Tue Nov 16 201017:52Linas Kleiza (Achilles) will play Tuesday
Linas Kleiza (Achilles) will return to action for the Raptors on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Reggie Evans remains a game-time decision.
Kleiza has the potential to explode on any given night, but Toronto has too many capable swingmen to rely on him in average fantasy leagues. Check back later to see how he fares.
Sat Nov 13 201019:03Kleiza (Achilles) out again Saturday
Raptors swingman Linas Kleiza (Achilles) will not play on Saturday.
Kleiza was a game-time decision so with any luck this will be the last game he sits out. The Raptors surprisingly defeated the Magic on Friday without him, but they'll need his firepower to significantly improve their current 2-7 record.

Sat Nov 13 201017:10Raptors still injured heading into Heat game
David Andersen (flu) and Linas Kleiza (sore right Achilles) are both questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Heat.
Consider them game-time decisions, but hopefully you're not relying on either of them. For the record, Ed Davis (right knee meniscus) and Leandro Barbosa (left shoulder strain) both remain sidelined.

Fri Nov 12 201011:32Kleiza out on Friday, Sonny Weems to start
Linas Kleiza (Achilles) will not play in the Raptors' game on Friday -- Sonny Weems will take his place in the starting lineup.
Until we get a firm timetable, consider Kleiza day-to-day. In other Raptors injury news, Jarrett Jack (thumb) will play, Reggie Evans is a game-time decision, Leandro Barbosa is out, and David Anderson is iffy with the flu.
Thu Nov 11 201013:45Kleiza listed as doubtful
Linas Kleiza (Achilles) is listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Magic.
Kleiza could only manage 17 ineffective minutes on Wednesday night. It doesn't sound like a serious ailment, but Achilles injuries often need rest. Look for Sonny Weems to get a start on Friday.

Wed Nov 10 201022:53Kleiza struggles through achilles injury
Linas Kleiza returned from an achilles injury but hit just 2-of-7 shots for four points in 17 minutes.
He's not fully healthy right now, but had 20 points, seven boards and two threes in his last one. It's too early to give up on him, unless you need to drop him for a big man (like Amir Johnson).
Tue Nov 9 201021:15Kleiza (Achilles) held from practice Tuesday
Linas Kleiza was held from practice on Tuesday due to soreness in his Achilles' tendon, but expects to play on Wednesday.
He said the Achilles' tendon responded to treatment, and we're not overly concerned about it, although we will be watching pregame reports to see if anything pops up. He had a nice 20-point, seven-rebound, four-assist outing on Monday, and we're still optimistic about him as a waiver wire pickup.

Tue Nov 9 201000:13Kleiza scores 20 points with seven boards
Linas Kleiza scored 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting (2-of-7 from downtown) with seven rebounds and four assists in 38 minutes on Monday against the Warriors.
He has been hit or miss lately, but we like his game and if he was dropped in your league this game probably means he's worth a pickup, depending on your roster.
