Sat May 28 201110:05Adelman wants front-office role w/ Portland
Rick Adelman, who was fired by the Rockets in April, said recently that he is interested in working for the Blazers in a front-office capacity.
It sounds like Adelman's coaching days might be over. "I'm looking to do something different, with not quite the stress the coaching aspect has," he said. "I have an affinity for Portland. Any way I could be involved, I would." Still, he interviewed for the Lakers' vacant job and clearly still has a passion for the game -- expect him to find employment very soon.

Fri May 27 201109:37Blazers want Brandon Roy to retire?
The Trail Blazers may ask Brandon Roy to retire this summer, one of a few options on the table as they contemplate the direction of the franchise.
The Blazers have $68 million invested in Roy through 2014-15, giving them a 'franchise' player with chronically deteriorating knees, an emotional hot streak, and a tendency toward momentum-killing isolation plays. Roy intends to spend the summer resting and rehabbing, to strengthen his knees, and it seems extremely unlikely that he'll consent to retire. We'll soon find out how this affects his relationship with the front office.

Wed May 25 201113:33Danny Ferry frontrunner for Blazers' GM gig
Danny Ferry has emerged as the top candidate to become the new GM of the Trail Blazers, according to Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio.
It came to light earlier this week that Rich Cho was no longer with the Blazers, and now it appears that the team has found his replacement. Director of Scouting Chad Buchanan is the acting GM in the meantime.

Mon May 23 201116:01Surprise: Blazers part ways with GM Rich Cho
General Manager Rich Cho, who took over the job in Portland last year, is no longer with the organization.
This news comes a couple days after we learned Cho wanted to suspend Brandon Roy for his Game 2 comments in Round 1, but was overruled by coach Nate McMillan and owner Paul Allen. Cho apparently wasn't a good fit, and you have to wonder if the Blazers miss Kevin Pritchard. Cho will be replaced by Director of Scouting Chad Buchanan for now.

Thu May 19 201118:40Report: GM Cho pushed for Roy suspension
According to John Canzano, Portland General Manager Rich Cho pushed for a suspension of Brandon Roy after his Game 2 comments in the first round of the postseason.
It's not surprising that the team was considering a suspension, but obviously it wound up being to their benefit that he was in the lineup for the following two games of the series. Roy's relationship is tenuous with the Blazers, but for now the two parties will have to co-exist.

Fri Apr 29 201118:10Brandon Roy hopes to start for Blazers
Brandon Roy intends to come back as a starter for the Trail Blazers next season.
This seems overly optimistic considering Roy has a chronic injury due to an irreparable loss of cartilage in his knees. "I'm going to want to push to be a starter and help this team win. The goal doesn't change," Roy said. We'll monitor his condition during the summer, but aren't expecting any miracles.

Mon Apr 25 201123:38Roy back to normal with just five points
Brandon Roy turned back into a pumpkin in Monday's Game 5 loss to the Mavs, scoring just five points on 2-of-7 shooting with three rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes.
We've been hard on Roy (and Nate McMillan for playing him), and after Saturday's storybook performance it was tempting to beg the question -- is he capable of a repeat performance? The answer tonight was 'don't count on it,' as Roy has emerged as a guy who can take what the defense gives him, and if the defense is solid -- then tonight's line is what you can expect.

Sat Apr 23 201119:56Roy, Blazers pull off incredible comeback
Brandon Roy hit 9-of-13 shots and two 3-pointers for 24 points, four rebounds and five assists in just 24 minutes as the Blazers closed out Saturday's game on a 43-18 run, overcoming a 23-point deficit to stun the Mavericks and tie the series at 2-2.
Roy hit a 3-pointer and made the free throw after being fouled on the shot to tie, and then hit what turned out to be the game-winner on a short bank shot. He was 8-of-9 in the fourth quarter, and scored 21 of his points in the last 12:01 of the game, leading the Blazers to the unthinkable comeback. LaMarcus Aldridge added 18 points, six boards, four steals and three blocks, and it will be interesting to see how Dallas bounces back from this one. But the one thing we now know? Roy still has the ability to take over a basketball game.

Fri Apr 22 201101:33Brandon Roy comes through in tough win
Brandon Roy had 16 points, four assists and a 3-pointer on 6-of-10 shooting in Thursday's win over the Mavericks, pulling the Blazers within a game of tying the series (2-1).
Roy voiced his displeasure with his limited playing time in the first two games, and played very well tonight. He'll likely have to play well again in Saturday's Game 4 if the Blazers are going to beat the Mavs.

Thu Apr 21 201110:03Roy will play his bench role again
Coach Nate McMillan confirmed that no minutes have been promised to Brandon Roy for Game 3.
McMillan has created a controversy by playing his ex-superstar just 7:59 as the last reserve off the bench in Game 2. Roy admitted to fighting back tears during the game. "He's going to play his role, which is coming off the bench. And we'll see," McMillan said. "All of our guys want to play minutes." It's a reminder of how devastating severe knee injuries can be.

Wed Apr 20 201109:35Brandon Roy frustrated with role
Brandon Roy admitted that he is "a little hurt, or disappointed" by his 7:59 of playing time in Game 2.
Roy has fallen behind Nic Batum, Rudy Fernandez and even Patty Mills in the Blazers' rotation. He admitted that he felt like crying at points last night out of frustration. It's a sad tale, but it's a reminder of just how bad Roy's knees are. The Blazers don't even trust him in their biggest games of the season.

Wed Apr 20 201100:30Roy plays just eight minutes in loss
Brandon Roy played just eight minutes in Tuesday's Game 2 loss, with just one turnover and one missed shot to show for his efforts.
Nate McMillan gave his former team leader a chance in Game 1, to the detriment of his team, and now it's time to try to win some ballgames. Roy's precipitous fall is among the most depressing we've seen in the NBA in some time.

Mon Apr 18 201116:37Nate McMillan fined $35,000 for complaining
Nate McMillan has been fined $35,000 for complaining about the officiating after a Game 1 loss to the Mavericks.
The officiating was shaky, but the simple fact remains that Jason Kidd and the Mavericks couldn't be stopped down the stretch.

Sun Apr 17 201100:26Roy gets the nod over Matthews, Camby
Brandon Roy was inexplicably played over both Wesley Matthews and Marcus Camby throughout Saturday's game, and responded with a typical 1-of-7 shooting night for two points, two rebounds, and three assists in 26 minutes off the bench.
Nate McMillan is going to catch heat for this, and it won't help that he selected the underconfident Roy to shoot a key technical foul late and Roy missed. We understand wanting to give Roy every opportunity to contribute after carrying the franchise, but doing so at the expense of the team and other players is a mistake that shouldn't have happened.

Thu Mar 31 201100:44Brandon Roy scores just five points in loss
Brandon Roy had just five points in 21 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Hornets.
He's been playing through back and knee issues, but is clearly not healthy. We have not be big supporters of starting him since the injuries kicked in and tonight is a good example of why. And you have to wonder when his next DNP will hit. He wasn't alone though, as Wesley Matthews and Nicolas Batum were also terrible tonight.

Tue Mar 29 201100:35Roy (back) plays 24 minutes on Monday
Brandon Roy was a game-time decision due to back spasms on Monday, and ended up playing 24 minutes on his way to 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting with four assists, five turnovers, and a steal.
He's back to providing fantasy leagues with the value reserved for 'no names' and bench filler types, which is that of the guy that clogs up the rotation, and has no value of his own. How the mighty have fallen.

Mon Mar 28 201108:26Brandon Roy listed as doubful for Monday
The Trail Blazers face the Spurs on Monday but may be without Brandon Roy who is listed as doubtful after suffering a lower back strain in Sunday's game against the Thunder.
Roy suffered the injury after running into Serge Ibaka at the end of the third quarter on Sunday. He did not play in the fourth quarter and finished the game with only four points. Roy's been a wounded warrior all season and is simply too injured to make any significant contributions.

Mon Mar 28 201100:03Roy struggles with back in loss
Brandon Roy suffered back spasms during Sunday's loss to the Thunder and had just four points in 12 minutes.
The good news is that Roy's knees weren't the reason he left the game. The bad news is that Roy has topped 20 minutes just once in his last six games. He's way off the fantasy radar.

Wed Mar 23 201100:28Roy goes hitless for one point vs. Wizards
Brandon Roy scored one point on a free throw on Tuesday, missing all six of his field goal attempts, with five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 20 minutes off the bench.
These are the breaks when you come off the bench for limited minutes, and yet another example of why we didn't want folks messing with him in the first place. He's waiver wire fodder.

Sun Mar 20 201103:43Roy held to six points in 17 minutes
Brandon Roy was held to six points in 17 minutes on Saturday, hitting 1-of-4 shots from the field (no threes) with four rebounds and two assists.
This is the elephant in the room for any discussion regarding Roy's fantasy value. He's not a playmaker anymore, and if the offense isn't getting created for him, he can get lost in the shuffle on any given night. There are better players to waste a roster spot on in a standard format.
