Sat Oct 13 201201:28Roy plays eight minutes on Friday vs. IND
Brandon Roy was slated to start and play in the first quarter of Friday's exhibition game, and he did just that playing eight minutes en route to six points and one assist.
Roy hit 2-of-3 shots and played about as much as his starting teammates, so it's pretty much impossible to glean anything from this outcome. The plan is to give him more minutes in Saturday's home game, and the plan for owners is to try and decipher the optimistic reports from anybody and everybody that is 'hoping' he can pull it back together. The fact is that he's still a Grade A risk due to his knees, and a decision to draft Roy late means you're banking on him handling 26-30 mpg and rediscovering the form he lost. It would be a miracle if he can do it.

Fri Oct 12 201218:27Brandon Roy to play first quarter Friday
Brandon Roy will start and not play more than the first quarter on Friday, and the same is probably true for most of tonight's starters.
This is the preseason's only back-to-back for the Wolves and the plan is to rest Roy tonight and play him more at home in Saturday's game. In other words, this should not be considered a setback.

Fri Oct 12 201215:06Brandon Roy practices in full on Thursday
Brandon Roy was a full participant in practice on Thursday after starting and playing well in Wednesday's preseason game.
This is more encouraging news for Roy, who is attempting a full comeback after retiring due to a chronic knee problem. As the good news keeps rolling in about Roy, his stock will rise, but keep in mind the season is 82 games long and we're only one game into the preseason. The best thing about drafting Roy this year is he's going late enough that the risk factor is virtually nonexistent.

Thu Oct 11 201212:47Vogel says Roy looks like his old self
Pacers coach Frank Vogel said after Wednesday's game that Wolves' starter Brandon Roy looks great.
"Yeah, it sure did," Vogel said when asked if Roy looked like the his old self. "It didn't look like he was limited at all." Roy is definitely a risky fantasy proposition this season, but every report we've seen has been glowing and it's a fact that he's starting for the Timberwolves. He's going late enough in drafts that the potential reward is outweighing the risk in taking him, and we're thinking he looks more sleeper than bust at this time. That's a change from where we've stood on Roy up to this point, but it's really starting to look like he might be able to pull of an amazing comeback story.

Wed Oct 10 201222:58Brandon Roy looks healthy in Minnesota debut
Brandon Roy saw 24 minutes of action on Wednesday that yielded 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, four boards and a steal.
His degenerative knee disease didn't look like a problem and he looked "great" in camp, according to coach Rick Adelman. While he could rejuvenate his career, chances are we'd rather let someone else reach for him in fantasy drafts.

Wed Oct 3 201210:35Adelman: T-Wolves will be cautious with Roy
Rick Adelman said that the Timberwolves will be "cautious" with Brandon Roy.
Adelman said that Roy looked "great" at the first day of workouts, while Roy simply said he felt "pretty good," but the two sides will have to manage Roy's workload throughout the year in order for his knee issues to remain firmly in the rear view mirror. Beat writer Jerry Zgoda notes that Roy "doesn't look like the same explosive player he once was."

Fri Sep 21 201209:47Roy, Adelman to map out plan for Roy's use
Brandon Roy and Rick Adelman will "communicate" before the season to map out a plan for Roy's return to basketball.
"The NBA season is long and my body isn't what it used to be," said Roy. "Right now, there's nothing holding me back." The key words from Roy in his quote are "right now," and we're still very skeptical that he'll make it through an entire 82-game season unscathed.

Wed Sep 19 201208:03Brandon Roy had offseason knee procedure
Brandon Roy (knees) confirmed that he underwent Regenecon treatment in the offseason.
Roy said that a doctor in Los Angeles performed the procedures and has been "feeling really good." Roy also revealed that he's not planning "to take a step back," but we're still skeptical that he'll remain healthy over a full 82-game season. He's worth a flier in the mid-to-late rounds, but we'd be very surprised to see the B-Roy of old.

Tue Sep 18 201215:08Brandon Roy's knees 'continue to feel good'
Brandon Roy reiterated on Tuesday that his knees "continue to feel good" after a few weeks of voluntary workouts in Minnesota.
These positive updates have become a broken record, but they don't mean much until he makes it through a full training camp without any setbacks (and even then, all bets are off during the grind of an 82-game season). Wolves fans can indulge in rosy optimism, but for fantasy owners skepticism is warranted.

Fri Sep 14 201208:48Brandon Roy: 'Best I've felt in a long time'
Brandon Roy, when asked about his knees, said that "this is the best I've felt in a long time.
"The reason why I say that is I'm able to improve," he said. "Where I felt that the last couple years in Portland I was just doing my best to maintain." Roy added that he "set a plan" for himself and has had no setbacks to date. We're still skeptical he'll hold up over a full 82-game season, but so far, so good for Roy and the T-Wolves.

Fri Sep 7 201208:58Brandon Roy working on his rhythm, timing
Brandon Roy is "working on his rhythm and timing."
Moving with and without the basketball, Roy continues to work himself back into game shape as he gears up for his incredible comeback. We're still in wait-and-see mode to determine whether or not Roy's knees can really hold up over a full 82-game season, and we wouldn't invest more than a mid-to-late round flier on him at this point.

Wed Aug 1 201208:05T-Wolves ready to give Brandon Roy big role?
The Timberwolves offered Brandon Roy "as big a role as Roy is physically able to handle."
This is noteworthy because it's clear that the T-Wolves want Roy to play a lot as long as he's healthy. However, the club is realistic, and assistant coach Bill Bayno said the explosion is still there, that quick first step," but added, "the big test will be over 82 games. Will the pain come back? How does the knee hold up? He's convinced he'll be fine." We still have reservations about his durability, but Roy said he would like to be around the 35-minute mark and that the blood therapy treatment he's undergone is reducing the swelling in his knees. He's going to have to prove to everyone that his knees will hold up.

Tue Jul 31 201213:40Brandon Roy officially signs with T-Wolves
Timberwolves sign G Brandon Roy.
Roy will recieve a two-year contract worth approximately $10 million. It's a gamble by GM David Kahn and the front office, but one that could potentially pay huge dividends. We're skeptical on his durability, but all reports on Roy's health have been positive since he was forced into early retirement. We should get a much better idea of both his role and how he really looks once training camp rolls around. Playing an 82-game season with the potential for playoffs is much different than dropping an impressive performance at a Pro-Am event or two.

Sun Jul 22 201209:40Brandon Roy scores 32 points in Pro-Am game
Brandon Roy scored 32 points during a Pro-Am game in Seattle on Saturday.
Roy didn't wear a brace and by all accounts he looked healthy, if a step slow, which is good news for the Wolves, who made a sizeable ($10.4 million) gamble on the health of his knees. We remain very skeptical about his durability, but this Pro-Am eruption follows multiple glowing reports from fellow players who have trained with and/or competed against Roy in recent months. Keep a close eye on him.

Tue Jul 17 201210:07Roy's deal with Timberwolves waiting on Batum
Brandon Roy's two-year deal with the Timberwolves is expected to be completed after the Nicolas Batum situation is resolved.
Roy's agent said that he's been in contact with David Kahn daily and the deal will "probably" get done "this week." The Timberwolves are also expected to turn their attention to other moves after the Batum offer sheet is matched by Portland. Alexey Shved has an agreement in principle with the team while the club has also expressed interest in Jordan Hill and Greg Stiemsma.

Tue Jul 10 201209:46Brandon Roy raves about health of his knees
Brandon Roy reiterated in an interview on Monday that his knees feel better than they have in years.
Roy praised Orthokine therapy, commonly known as platelet-rich plasma injections, saying, "It was five shots. It was on each of my knees. Ever since then, it feels great ... I was so excited about how I was feeling, it was like the first day of school for me." He hinted that he hopes to be a starter for the Wolves, adding, "I just plan to work hard and put coach in a position where he has to play me." For his career, Roy has averaged 19.0 points, 4.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds.

Thu Jul 5 201222:28Report: Brandon Roy verbally agrees with MIN
Jason Quick of the Oregonian reported Thursday that Brandon Roy has agreed to a two-year, $10.4 million deal with the Wolves.
If Roy's knee is miraculously rehabbed it will be a heart-warming story, but fans and fantasy owners alike should expect the worst and hope for the best. A 10-15 minute role off the bench is probably perfect, but this offer suggests that the Wolves think he can contribute much, much more. They may be completely crazy, but that's what they did. If we sense that he's going to be given a heavier load, we might give him more fantasy attention but for now he's hands off.

Wed Jul 4 201212:44Warriors hoping for second meeting w/ Roy
The Warriors are hoping to have a second meeting with free agent Brandon Roy this week.
They met on Monday and the Warriors appear to be very interested in Roy, whose former agent is Warriors GM Bob Myers. While it remains to be seen if Roy's knees are healthy enough to allow him to resume his career, it appears that several teams are willing to find out.

Tue Jul 3 201215:16Brandon Roy met w/ Warriors on Monday
Brandon Roy met with Warriors officials in the Bay Area on Monday, according to Yahoo! Sports.
We already knew the Warriors were on Roy's short-list, along with the Wolves, Bulls, Mavericks, Pacers, and possibly the Cavaliers and Lakers. Right now there's no real indication which way he's leaning.

Tue Jul 3 201210:21Report: Mavericks making 'big push' for Roy
The Mavericks are making a "big push" to sign Brandon Roy, a source tells Yahoo! Sports.
Both the Timberwolves and Cavs are also interested in adding Roy, and Marc Spears notes that the Lakers might be interested. However, ESPN Los Angeles previously reported that the Lakers did not have Roy on the radar. The Mavericks and Timberwolves have been the two times most consistently mentioned when discussing Roy's next landing spot.
