Green officially exercised his player option for the 2015-16 season, Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

The option will pay Green $9.2 million next season and keep him in Memphis, where he spent the second half of the 2014-15 campaign. Green averaged 13.1 points and 4.2 rebounds for the Grizzlies, and he's expected to again be one of the team's primary offensive contributors next season.

While this is somewhat speculative on Stein's part, he reports that the current, prevailing belief out of Memphis is that Green will return next season. The forward, who came over mid-season in a trade with Boston, failed to make the impact Memphis hoped, which may have diminished his potential value on the open market. That said, Green is represented by David Falk, who Stein notes is among the most aggressive agents when it comes to pursuing contracts, so Green's future is certainly far from set in stone at this point. Green averaged 13.1 points and 4.2 rebounds for the Grizzlies after averaging 17.6 points and 4.3 rebounds for Boston, where he was more of a primary fixture on the offensive end.

Green will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game 5 matchup with the Warriors now that Tony Allen (hamstring) has been ruled inactive, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Their was talk that the Grizzlies might put Green in the starting lineup either way in order to generate some offense that the team has recently been lacking, but with Allen sitting out, it only confirms he'll make the transition back to being a starter. Green is averaging just 9.0 points and 3.3 rebounds so far this series, but this move may bring him some added confidence and minutes. Look for his numbers to increase Wednesday.

The Grizzlies are seriously considering inserting Green into the starting lineup for Wednesday's Game 5, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

Looking to jumpstart a stagnant offense that mustered only 84 points in Game 4, coach Dave Joerger is apparently leaning toward giving Green the nod, presumably over Tony Allen. Allen, who is battling a hamstring injury, may end up being sidelined regardless, which likely makes the decision a bit easier for Joeger. Through the first four games of the series, Green is averaging 9.0 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting just under 43 percent from the floor.

Green is averaging 9.0 points (31.0 FG, 20.0 3Pt, 85.0 FT), 5.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.6 blocks in 26 minutes per game through seven postseason games.

After averaging 13.1 points (42.7 FG, 36.2 3Pt, 82.5 FT), 4.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.5 blocks in 30 minutes per game during 45 regular season games with the Grizzlies, his minutes have dropped in the postseason. Green started 37 of the 45 regular season games with the Grizzlies, but yielded his starting spot to defensive ace Tony Allen beginning in Game 2 versus the Blazers. Green's ability to play more than one position helps earn him decent playing time, but it appears that it might take foul trouble or an injury for him to take on a larger role in coach Dave Joerger's postseason rotation. The Grizzlies are back in action on Saturday as the series shifts back to Memphis for Game's 3 and 4.

Green is coming off the bench Wednesday against the Blazers, The Oregonian reports.

Green struggled from the field (3-for-11) Sunday, but was still able to post a solid line in the end. The Grizzlies could use more scoring from the veteran forward, who will have a chance to post a better game in Game 2.

With Green and Courtney Lee getting the starting nods, Tony Allen will serve as the Grizzlies' top wing off the bench. There's been no indication that Green's back injury is serious, as he played 34 minutes in Wednesday's season finale against the Pacers.

Green (back) is feeling better ahead of Sunday's Game 1 against Portland according to teammate Zach Randolph, Peter Fleischer of FOX Sports reports.

Green is dealing with some lower-back stiffness and is still officially considered questionable for Sunday's game but Randolph's comments are certainly a good indicator that Green may ultimately play. His status should officially be updated sometime before Sunday's tipoff.

It seems unlikely that Green would miss Game 1 of the Grizzlies' first round series considering he has not missed a game yet due to the ailment, and he played 34 minutes in the season finale against Indiana. Still, check back on his status closer to the start of Sunday's game.

Green is averaging 11.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists over the last five games and serves as a low-end fantasy option in standard leagues.

Of the three questionable Grizzlies, Green is the best bet to suit up.

Green was a game time decision heading into Saturday's game, so his whopping 41 minutes are quite surprising. He could still get rested in one of the Grizzlies' final couple of games, but he should be safe to use in fantasy, as long as he plays, going forward.

Green (back) was able to make the start Saturday against the Clippers.

The Grizzlies must have decided that he he was healthy enough to deploy as they weigh trying to get the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference and having a healthy team heading into the playoffs. Even though he is playing Saturday, Green could be scratched in one of the Grizzlies' final two games if his back flares up again or if Memphis gets locked into a certain seed.

Green (back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's contest versus the Clippers in Los Angeles, FOX Sports Tennessee reports.

Since leaving last Saturday's game due to back spasms, Green has played the last two contests, averaging 13.5 points (on 55 percent shooting), four rebounds, and two assists in 35 minutes. An absence would likely result in Vince Carter and JaMychal Green picking up more work than normal.

Green (back) provided 15 points (7-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt) with four rebounds in 33 minutes in the win over the Pelicans on Wednesday.

Green missed practice on Monday, but returned on Tuesday and was able to play. He has been a nice scorer for Memphis, but doesn't do much else. In his last five games, he has averaged 16.2 points on 55.4 percent from the field, but just 3.6 rebounds.

Green (back) didn't practice Monday but is expected to return in full Tuesday, FOX Sports Tennessee reports.

Green was removed from Saturday's game against the Wizards due to back spasms, but a full practice Tuesday should translate to active status Wednesday versus the Pelicans.
