Young (ankle) did some light running Friday but is still unable to cut like normal.
Young's availability for Sunday's game against the Knicks seems to be up in the air with this most recent news from coach Bryon Scott. If the small forward stays sidelined, Wayne Ellington has an opportunity for extended minutes against the Knicks.

Young (ankle) will miss a second straight game Thursday against the Bulls.
Young sprained his ankle earlier in the week during practice, and although he initially said he did not believe it was anything serious, he'll sit out a second game after missing Tuesday's game against the Wizards. In Young's absence, Wayne Ellington and Jordan Clarkson should continue to see bumps in minutes.
Wed Jan 28 201515:08Young (ankle) missed practice Wednesday
Young (ankle) missed practice Wednesday, Mark Media of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Young tweaked his ankle in practice earlier in the week, and he sat out Tuesday's loss to Washington. His absence from Wednesday's session is not encouraging, but the team is still considering him questionable for Thursday's matchup with the Bulls.
Tue Jan 27 201514:37Young (ankle) will not play Tuesday against Wizards
Young (ankle) will not play Tuesday against the Wizards, Bill Oram of the OC Register reports.
Young sprained his ankle during Monday's practice, and although he doesn't believe it's serious, he'll miss at least one game. Young is expected to accept a larger role offensively in the absence of Kobe Bryant (shoulder), but from a fantasy perspective he doesn't offer much outside of scoring. Consider Young questionable to play Thursday against the Bulls.
Mon Jan 26 201521:49Young sprained ankle during Monday's practice
Young sprained his ankle during Monday's practice, Bleacher Report reports.
While Young's status for Tuesday's game against the Wizards appears to be in jeopardy, the mercurial guard did not appear worried and said he'd "just wait and see" how he feels Tuesday morning. Look for an update following shootaround, but until further notice consider Young questionable. With Kobe Bryant (shoulder) done for the season, Young could be poised to step into a more significant role offensively.
Mon Jan 26 201500:19Young only logged eight minutes in Sunday's loss to Rockets
Young only logged eight minutes in Sunday's loss to the Rockets, and Lakers coach Byron Scott said after the game that it looked like Young didn't want to be there, ESPN's Baxter Holmes reports.
Young had a pretty miserable eight minutes, with zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3PT), three rebounds and three turnovers. He's highly unlikely to fall out of the rotation, but it's noteworthy that he's played 20 or fewer minutes in each of the past three games.

Young scored 17 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT) in 20 minutes off the bench Friday despite dealing with a sprained thumb.
Despite Kobe Bryant's absence, Young continues to come off the bench. He's not particularly valuable in categories leagues, because Swaggy P generally only puts up points in the box score. In January, he's averaging 14.0 points on 31.5 percent shooting with 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
Thu Jan 22 201518:46Young probable for Friday's game against Spurs with sprained rig...
Young is probable for Friday's game against the Spurs with a sprained right thumb, the Los Angeles Times reports.
This is the first news of Young's thumb injury, but a sprain isn't anything to be too concerned about. The team should confirm whether or not he is playing closer to the tipoff, but if he's unable to go, Wesley Johnson could be in line for even bigger minutes Friday.

Young (knee) played 20 minutes Friday in a win over the Magic, but shot just 2-of-13 from the floor (0-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT) for nine points and only added on one steal.
Young didn't practice Thursday but did come off the bench Friday, and struggled to get anything going. He's been a hit-or-miss fantasy option this season. In his 10 previous games, Young shot just 35.5 percent, but still averaged 14.2 points. If you're in need of points, Young could be an option, but his field-goal shooting is poor and he doesn't do much else on the stat sheet.
Fri Jan 9 201514:23Young (knee) will play in Friday's game against Magic
Young (knee) will play in Friday's game against the Magic.
Young sat out Thursday's practice with soreness in his right knee but managed to practice at full speed during Friday's morning shootaround. Considering the insignificance of the injury, he should be deployed as usual Friday.
Thu Jan 8 201515:40Young sat out Thursday's practice due to soreness in right knee
Young sat out Thursday's practice due to soreness in his right knee, Baxter Holmes of ESPN reports.
Little is known about Young's condition at this point, but the Lakers sent him to a team doctor for an evaluation, so more information should be available later Thursday afternoon. For now, consider Young questionable to play Friday against Orlando.

Young scored 21 points (7-15 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), to go along with two assists, and a rebound in 25 minutes on Sunday.
He didn't do much besides score the ball, however he seems to be bouncing back after his three point performance on Christmas Day. Young is a solid source of points and three's on a Lakers team that needs all the help it can get as they look for ways to win.

Young posted 26 points (7-14 FG, 8-8 FT, 4-9 3Pt) to go with five rebounds, one assist, and two steals in 30 minutes of action.
Young is now averaging 18.0 points and 3.0 three-pointers made over the last five games, and he's coming back to form after a slow start to the season. He's worth owning in 12-man leagues, though his standard league value is limited because of his lack of production in other categories.
Sun Dec 21 201418:07Young expected to play Sunday against Kings
Young is expected to play Sunday against the Kings.
Young was issued a flagrant-2 and ejected from Friday's game after hitting Steven Adams with an elbow, but the league has not handed down a suspension, so the Lakers expect to have the charismatic guard available off the bench Sunday. Young has scored at least 10 points in 11 of his last 12 games but offers little in terms of rebounds or assists.

Young was ejected in Friday's game for hitting the Thunder's Steven Adams in the throat with his elbow.
Young left the game with 10 points in 4-of-8 shooting. Adams actually missed his free-throws from the technical, but the Lakers clearly missed Young down the stretch, as they ended up letting a lead slip away in the fourth quarter.

Young dropped a season-high 29 points (9-14 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 5-5 FT), including a clutch three in overtime that ended up winning the game for the Lakers on Friday.
Swaggy P was the deciding factor in this game, making his most threes of the season. Young has now made three or more threes in four of his past seven games. He's also scored 20 or more points three times in that span. Young could be worth a pickup in some leagues given how many shows he's taking this season.
Wed Dec 10 201416:38Young scored 12 points (5-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and added four...
Young scored 12 points (5-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and added four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 22 minutes of work against the Kings on Tuesday.
Young continues to shoot poorly from the field as he was 5-13 from the field in the contest and only made one of his five three-point attempts. Young is shooting less than 40 percent from the field on the year, which will hurt owners in rotosserie leagues. He got another block in this game which gives him seven blocks in 12 games this year. It will be interesting to see whether this trend continues. Young blocked 20 shots in 82 games back in the 2008-2009 season and he is on pace to eclipse that this season.
Mon Dec 8 201418:15Young scored 13 points (3-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT) and added two ...
Young scored 13 points (3-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT) and added two rebounds, one assist and a block in 24 minutes of action against the Pelicans on Sunday.
He continues to get points, albeit at a poor rate as he is shooting 37 percent from the field over his last 10 games. He has shot 43 percent for his career, so you can expect an uptick in his shooting percentage. He gives you three-point field goals though, as he is average almost three a game over his last seven games. Oddly, he is also averaging almost one block per game over the same stretch, which is a nice throw in to his production but it shouldn't be expected.

Young scored 20 points (6-11 FG, 5-8 3P, 3-5 FT) with four rebounds in 31 minutes off the bench Sunday.
It's Young's best performance since returning to action from his thumb injury, and he's now scored in double-digits in three straight games. If you need to boost your three-point production, Young could be worth picking up.
Thu Nov 20 201400:13Young scored 16 points (6-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), with four reb...
Young scored 16 points (6-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), with four rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Rockets.
Swaggy P is back in business. The Lakers' reserve is getting solid minutes, and this seems to be a trend that won't be slowing down. He and Kobe Bryant are the prime scoring threats for this team, and Young should be a player to look at adding in most fantasy leagues if he's still out there.
