Thu Feb 17 201112:40Thornton aggravates finger injury
Al Thornton was unable to return to Wednesday's game after aggravating his finger injury three minutes in.
Thornton was just getting over a dislocated right middle finger when the same digit popped back out on him. With the Wizards expecting to be as healthy as they've been in ages after the break, Thornton is way off the fantasy radar anyway.

Wed Feb 16 201119:49Al Thornton leaves with finger injury
Al Thornton attempted to play through his right ring-finger injury on Wednesday but left early after dislocating again.
He's questionable to return, although we don't expect to see him since he's currently having it X-rayed.

Sun Feb 13 201117:20Al Thornton (finger) will play Sunday for Wiz
Al Thornton (finger) will be in the lineup for the Wizards on Sunday when they play against Cleveland.
With Rashard Lewis (knee) out, Thornton has opportunity to have a big game. His track record isn't promising but if you're a gambling person hoping to get a bit lucky, there are worse options out there.
Fri Feb 11 201113:36Al Thornton out again w/ finger injury
Al Thornton will miss another game vs. the Spurs on Saturday due to his finger injury.
The Wizards are already without Josh Howard (knee) and Rashard Lewis is iffy, which leaves plenty of minutes for guys like Yi Jianlian and Cartier Martin. Thornton remains day-to-day, however, so don't read too much into his absence.

Wed Feb 9 201112:56Al Thornton out Wednesday
Al Thornton (finger) will not play against the Bucks Wednesday.
Thornton has been playing sparingly of late anyway, averaging just 16.7 minutes per game over the last 10 contests. With Yi Jianlian (ankle) also out, Nick Young and Trevor Booker will see a bump in minutes at small forward.

Mon Feb 7 201113:04Al Thornton dislocates finger Monday
Al Thornton dislocated his right middle finger during Monday's practice but it doesn't sound like the injury will cost him any time.
Thornton popped the joint back into place and said afterward that he "should be good." Unfortunately he's not worth owning in fantasy leagues, having scored double-digit points just twice in the past 13 games.

Thu Jan 13 201123:24Al Thornton starts for Blatche, does little
Al Thornton started in place of Andray Blatche Tursday and scored 14 points in 26 minutes.
He split the minutes with Yi Jianlian. For now, Thornton is not worth owning even if Blatche or Rashard Lewis goes down for an extended period.
Tue Jan 11 201110:21Thornton to get back in rotation
Coach Flip Saunders mentioned Al Thornton as someone that will get more opportunities with Josh Howard (knee) sidelined.
Thanks to Howard coming back and the acquisition of Rashard Lewis, Thornton fell way back in the rotation. The former starter will now get a chance to be the first swingman off the bench, but he's still a poor bet for fantasy production. Even when Thornton was starting, he averaged a mere 10.7 points with poor defensive stats and a non-existent 3-point shot.

Wed Dec 29 201011:43Thornton finds his role slashed
Al Thornton has lost his starting job to Rashard Lewis.
In Lewis' first start Monday, Thornton played just seven minutes. Josh Howard's return from knee surgery certainly isn't helping Thornton's cause either. The swingman will need injuries to find a real role going forward after 22 mediocre starts earlier this year.

Thu Dec 16 201022:30Thornton starts, plays well
Al Thornton got the start in place of Andray Blatche on Thursday against the Nets, and responded with 18 points, five rebounds, and a steal.
Both Thornton and Trevor Booker (11 points, nine boards) played well tonight, but with Blatche day-to-day and Josh Howard (knee) coming back into the mix soon, neither player will be consistent enough to put into your lineup.
Fri Dec 10 201022:22Thornton terrible in Friday's game
Al Thornton played just 13 minutes in Friday's game, scoring two points on 1-of-5 shooting with three rebounds and one assist.
He had a nice 20-point outing in his last game on Wednesday, but foul trouble and general ineffectiveness limited him tonight. He hasn't been consistent enough to own and has Josh Howard (knee) returning to make things harder on him.
Thu Dec 9 201002:09Al Thornton drops 20 in loss to Kings
Al Thornton started again and hit 7-of-11 shots for 20 points and one rebound in 33 minutes on Wednesday.
He's worth a look if you need a starting warm body, but this is the first nice line he's posted since being injured a few weeks ago. And with Josh Howard due back next week, we're not expecting too much out of AT going forward.
Wed Dec 8 201002:43Thornton back into the starting lineup vs. LA
Al Thornton returned to the starting lineup after being sidelined with an ankle injury for the last week or so, and logged 15 minutes on his way to two points on 1-of-5 shooting with three rebounds and two assists.
His days as a fantasy asset are over and Josh Howard hasn't even returned yet. As a starter he'll keep our attention to some degree, but he won't be worth consideration until he shows us something.
Wed Dec 1 201022:42Al Thornton scoreless in return
Al Thornton returned from an ankle injury on Wednesday and was scoreless in six minutes.
He'll be relevant again, but will be worked back into the mix slowly. And once Josh Howard makes his season debut, Thorntons' value should disappear.
Wed Dec 1 201018:25Al Thornton to come off bench for Wiz
Al Thornton will return from a sprained ankle on Wednesday, but will come off the bench.
Thornton could emerge with some fantasy value again once fully healthy, but eventually Josh Howard will come back and put a damper on Thornton's potential.

Wed Dec 1 201010:04Thornton expected to play Wednesday
Al Thornton (ankle) practiced Tuesday and is expected to play against the Raptors Wednesday.
Thornton has missed the last three games after spraining his ankle. Thornton was locked in as a starter before going down, but his role now is unclear. Gilbert Arenas has been on fire and may stick in the lineup as part of a three-guard set. Thornton's lack of 3s, assists, blocks or steals makes him a low-end fantasy option anyway.

Tue Nov 30 201000:30Al Thornton does not play on Monday
Al Thornton (ankle) did not play on Monday and no return date has been set.
The Wizards are in no rush to get him back, and in the meantime guys like Kirk Hinrich, Alonzo Gee, and Nick Young will fight for the leftover minutes.
Mon Nov 29 201011:29Al Thornton still out w/ ankle injury
Al Thornton (ankle) remains sidelined for the Wizards, and his return date is unclear.
Thornton said that he won't rush back, since he already aggravated the injury and was sidelined by ankle problems during most of the preseason. Keep him on your bench until further notice.
Thu Nov 25 201013:01Al Thornton out a couple games
Al Thornton (ankle) is expected to miss at least two games.
Thornton won't play against the Hawks tonight and or the Magic on Saturday. Coach Flip Saunders wouldn't say who would start, but we suspect he'll trot out his three-guard lineup of John Wall, Kirk Hinrich and Gilbert Arenas. All are very viable fantasy plays tonight.

Tue Nov 23 201019:55Thornton leaves game on Tue vs. PHI
Al Thornton left Tuesday's game against the Sixers with a sprained left ankle and will not return.
Unless it's completely minor this pretty much eliminates his already waning fantasy value, and makes Kirk Hinrich an interesting candidate to either start in a three-guard lineup, or at least see consistent minutes if Thornton misses time. Hinrich is averaging 12 points, five assists, three boards, a steal, and a three per game in 37 minutes.
