Thu Feb 6 201401:10Brandan Wright starting to score on Wednesday
Brandan Wright scored 17 points with four boards and one assist on 6-of-8 from the field against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
It's not often the Grizzlies are beat up inside, but that's what happened tonight. All season long we've been waiting for Wright to come on strong and it might finally be happening with double-digit points in three straight games. On the other hand, the big negative during this streak is that he hasn't blocked any shots, which is why he would be a nice pickup. Wright has kept his fouls down and is helping the Mavs, but it still hasn't translated to fantasy value yet. He's not quite worthy of being owned in standard leagues.

Tue Feb 4 201402:28Wright goes for 14 and seven against Cavs
Brandan Wright scored 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting with seven rebounds and a steal in 22 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Wright hasn't been blocking the ball much since returning to action, and he didn't have one tonight, but maybe a game against the Cavs' soft interior will get him going. We need to see him separate from Samuel Dalembert (18 points, eight boards, two blocks) and DeJuan Blair (10 minutes) before advising a pickup in standard formats.

Sat Feb 1 201401:21Wright grabs season-high 10 rebounds
Brandan Wright grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds in Friday's win over the Kings, and also chipped in with 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting and a steal in 26 minutes.
Wright has always had the best upside potential among the three-headed center monster in Dallas, but forgive us if we don't send you guys running to the wire after one good night. We'll want to watch and see if Wright is coming around after missing a chunk of the year with his shoulder injury, but he can stay on the wire in standard formats unless you're feeling very lucky. DeJuan Blair (six points, three rebounds, one steal, 13 minutes) and Samuel Dalembert (six points, four rebounds, one block, 16 minutes) were non-existent tonight.

Sat Jan 25 201401:33Wright scores eight points and that's it
Brandan Wright scored eight points and that's it in 12 minutes off the bench on Friday.
It's well past time to move along on Wright in most formats, but owners will want to be ready if the dynamic changes with the three-headed center monster in Dallas.

Wed Jan 22 201423:05Brandan Wright best Mavs center in loss
Brandan Wright came off the bench for 13 points and three rebounds on 5-of-7 shooting in 25 minutes in Wednesday's loss.
Starter Samuel Dalembert had four points and seven rebounds in 17 minutes, and DeJuan Blair had eight points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes. This is an ugly three-headed monster and none of them are reliable enough to be counted on in fantasy leagues right now. Dalembert probably is the safest bet since he's starting, but that's not enough to make him a lock for your lineup, either. None of the big men managed a blocked shot tonight, and the Mavericks only had one for the entire game (Jae Crowder).

Mon Jan 20 201416:06Brandan Wright scores 10 points vs. Cavs
Brandan Wright scored 10 points with four boards and one assist against the Cavs on Monday.
The Mavs didn't really play him more with the injury to Samuel Dalembert (shoulder). Wright's blocks have really disappeared this month, failing to block a shot in eight of his 12 January games. He's not taking many chances on defense and has been joined at the hip on his man on the weak side, which might explain the drop. His upside isn't as intriguing, but he's a decent grab-and-hope guy with the injury to Dalembert as long as you're not cutting someone you're going to miss.

Thu Jan 16 201403:46Brandan Wright hits 6-of-7 shots in 13 min.
Brandan Wright hit 6-of-7 shots and finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and zero blocks in just 13 minutes of action on Wednesday.
Samuel Dalembert is starting and scored 20 points on Wednesday, and is the center to own in Dallas right now.

Tue Jan 14 201401:47Wright blocks two shots with six boards
Brandan Wright blocked two shots in Monday's game with six rebounds and that's about it, adding just two points on 1-of-5 shooting in 23 minutes.
At least owners got the meat and potatoes of what they're looking for with Wright, who still needs some sort of injury or demotion to Samuel Dalembert (two points, six boards, one block) or DeJuan Blair (six points, seven boards, 15 minutes) to be a must-own player in fantasy hoops. Wright has the ability to climb ranks quick with minutes, but this is a three-headed timeshare to avoid in 12-team formats.

Sun Jan 12 201401:34Brandan Wright finally shows up vs. NO
Brandan Wright had a long overdue productive game on Saturday night with eight points, four boards, three steals and two blocks in 25 minutes.
The Mavericks sat DeJuan Blair down for much of the night to allow Wright some extra minutes. He was really in a stat slump with no blocks in any of his last five games and this outburst came out of the blue. Wright has some very attractive upside in blocks and field goal percentage, but we'd like to see him do it again after his disappearing act to start 2014. Monday vs. Orlando is a nice matchup for him.

Sat Jan 11 201400:53Brandan Wright is still a no-show for Dallas
Brandan Wright was quiet in 15 minutes of action against the Pelicans on Friday with five points and six boards.
After an eye-catching start to his season, Wright has disappeared. He's averaged just 8.2 points, 4.2 boards and 1.0 assists without a single blocks in his last five. Wright could get it turned around at some point, but there's enough of a sample size to let him loose in most formats.

Wed Jan 8 201421:46Brandan Wright scores nine points vs. Spurs
Brandan Wright scored nine points in 20 minutes against the Spurs, adding two rebounds, one steal and three fouls.
This was his sixth consecutive game without a block, which is even worse considering he has 4.0 fouls per game over his last four. Wright has cooled off quite a bit and has really only been a one-category player for his field goal percentage, so fantasy owners can start entertaining the idea of looking elsewhere.

Sat Jan 4 201401:49Wright goes for 12 and five with no blocks
Brandan Wright scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting with five rebounds, one assist and no steals or blocks in 23 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Wright is already a mid-round value on the season due to his ultra-efficient fantasy game, averaging 11.4 points with 4.0 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 1.1 blocks, 75 percent field goal shooting and 68.4 free throw shooting. That means he should be owned in all standard formats.

Wed Jan 1 201420:36Brandan Wright plays 18 minutes
Brandan Wright played 18 minutes off the bench against the Wizards on Wednesday with 10 points, three boards, one assist and two steals on 5-of-7 shooting.
He showed much more range tonight with three of his shot attempts coming from outside of eight feet. Wright had taken 64.4 percent of his shots from within three feet of the basket, which explains his superb 75.6 percent from the field on the season. He hasn't blocked a shot in his last two games, but he looks a little better than his stat lines are suggesting and he should be owned in all standard leagues.

Mon Dec 30 201323:09Brandan Wright scores 14 points with 3 boards
Brandan Wright shot 6-of-8 from the field for 14 points with three boards and one steal in 18 minutes.
Wright's offensive efficiency has been superb this season and was just a shade below his season shooting of 75.7 percent. Things are certainly looking up for Wright and he has the makings of being a four-category player for points, boards, blocks and field goal percentage with just a few turnovers.

Sat Dec 28 201323:55Brandan Wright comes off bench Saturday
Brandan Wright scored six points with two rebounds, two steals and a block on 3-of-3 shooting off the bench on Saturday.
Samuel Dalembert started and had two points, five rebounds, a steal and a block in 24 minutes, as Wright is dealing with a flu bug right now. Starting or not, Wright is still the better fantasy option for now.

Sat Dec 28 201312:41Brandan Wright will play Saturday
According to coach Rick Carlisle, Brandan Wright (illness) went through the morning shootaround and will play Saturday against the Bulls.
Wright missed Thursday's game and Friday's practice but appears to have recovered. Hopefully the missed time doesn't derail what was a nice start to the season for Wright. Since making his season debut two weeks ago, Wright has posted a player efficiency rating of 28.9 in an admittedly minuscule sample size of five games.

Thu Dec 26 201318:58Brandon Wright (illness) out on Thursday
Brandan Wright (illness) is not with the Mavericks for Thursday's game.
He stayed home to recuperate and prevent spreading the illness in the Mavs' locker room, so Dallas will have to make do with DeJuan Blair, Bernard James and whatever they can get out of Samuel Dalembert, who is also under the weather.

Thu Dec 26 201311:56Brandan Wright questionable for Thursday
Brandan Wright (illness) missed shootaround and is questionable for Thursday's game against the Spurs.
Wright is mired in a playing time long-jam with Samuel Dalembert and DeJuan Blair and is going to be a pain to own unless he is able to establish himself as a rotation mainstay. If he is unable to suit up against the Spurs on Thursday, DeJuan Blair and Samuel Dalembert (who also missed shootaround with an illness) would inherit more playing time.

Tue Dec 24 201301:59Wright quiet in 19 minutes on Monday
Brandan Wright was quiet in 19 minutes on Monday, scoring six points on 3-of-3 shooting with three rebounds and two steals.
Owning Wright isn't going to be a cake walk unless he can legitimately create separation between himself, Samuel Dalembert (eight points, seven boards, three steals, 29 minutes), and DeJuan Blair (DNP). But he still has proper upside to be held in most formats.
