Fri Dec 23 201100:12Maggette (back) plays in Thursday's game
Corey Maggette (back) played in the Bobcats' final preseason game on Thursday, scoring 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds and one assist in just 25 minutes.
He also hit 7-of-10 freebies and owners can expect similar, if not increased production for as long as he is healthy. The Bobcats are relying on Maggette for scoring and they are still lacking in that area. Maggette posted fifth and seventh round value (8/9 cat) in his last season in Golden State when he averaged 20 ppg, and owners should knock multiple rounds off this year due to his massive injury risk.

Tue Dec 20 201112:32Corey Maggette participates in practice fully
Corey Maggette (back) practiced in full on Tuesday.
Maggette had been bothered by back spasms but appears to be over that injury for now. He is constantly battling a variety of nagging injuries and it would not be surprising to see him miss some time during the regular season.

Mon Dec 19 201117:52Corey Maggette out with back spasms
Corey Maggette will miss Monday's preseason game with his lingering back spasms.
Yes, the Cats want him to score 20 ppg, but his back, as well as the rest of his body, could make him day-to-day for much of the season.

Sat Dec 17 201117:32Corey Maggette sidelined by back spasms
Corey Maggette is sidelined again on Saturday by back spasms.
This should subside in a few days, but it's a good reminder for fantasy owners that Maggette is a constant threat for DNP. He's expected to take on a major offensive role in Charlotte, however, and could return good value if he stays on the court.

Fri Dec 16 201113:34Corey Maggette remains sidelined by bad back
Corey Maggette (back) was limited again in practice on Friday.
Maggette didn't seem concerned about the issue, but it's lingered for a couple of days now. Owners need to keep a careful eye on this situation and monitor any developments of his status before the season.

Thu Dec 15 201119:00Maggette misses practice for Bobcats
Corey Maggette missed practice on Thursday with lower back spasms and is being called day-to-day.
New team, same issues with Maggette, as he has had issues staying healthy his entire career. Maggette is set to be one of the main scorers on the Bobcats this season, so don't go dropping him down your draft boards just yet, but keep an eye on the situation and hope it gets better soon.

Thu Dec 15 201113:27Corey Maggette experiencing back problems
Corey Maggette has had some lower back pain recently.
Here we go again with Maggette. His back is a constant concern, although this time, the issue is muscular and the forward doesn't expect it to be a big deal. If he can stay healthy (which is a big if), Maggette could be a sneaky target for owners looking for a solid source of points and free throw percentage.

Thu Dec 1 201114:35Silas: Maggette has to carry the load
Bobcats coach Paul Silas said that Corey Maggette will have to shoulder the offensive load.
The Bobcats were desperate for offense last season, and Maggette will have to contribute in a big way for the team to find any success. If he can stay healthy, Maggette has some sleeper appeal as a solid source of points and a good free throw shooter, but he's struggled to stay on the court in recent seasons and is now 32 years old.

Sat Sep 3 201112:25Corey Maggette flies to Greece, meets PAOK
Corey Maggette recently traveled to Greece to meet with team officials from the team PAOK.
Maggette toured the team's facilities, met members of the organization, and was welcomed by a mob of fans who chanted his name and set off fireworks. He's still trying to insure his contract, but the deal in Greece sounds ripe -- he'll make roughly $415,000 per month, while receiving a portion of jersey and memorabilia sales.

Fri Aug 12 201116:53Corey Maggette in talks with Greek team PAOK
Corey Maggette is reportedly engaged in "serious discussions" with the Greek team PAOK.
Maggette has been sending out feelers to teams in Italy and Turkey, but reports out of Europe indicate that PAOK has made him a contract offer. Whether he accepts this deal or not, it sounds like he's determined to play overseas during the lockout -- as an under-contract NBA player, he'll need to have an 'NBA-out' clause for whenever the lockout ends.

Wed Aug 10 201113:19Report: Maggette shopping for teams overseas?
Corey Maggette's agent has reportedly made overtures to the Italian team Virtus Bologna and the Turkish team Besiktas -- neither club sounds interested.
Virtus Bologna reportedly dismissed Maggette's agent because they don't want to risk losing a high-priced player in the middle of the season. The veteran swingman is likely to start at SF for Charlotte next season, though his lengthy history of injuries should still make fantasy owners wary.

Tue Jun 28 201113:25Corey Maggette told he will start next season
Coach Paul Silas has already told Corey Maggette that the newly acquired small forward will start next season.
Maggette won't even be forced to fight for the job. This also confirms that the Bobcats are sticking with Boris Diaw at the power forward spot, which is bad news for Tyrus Thomas and Bismack Biyombo. As the starting small forward on a team devoid of scorers, we're expecting Maggette to get a ton of shots up next season. He'll be an asset for owners in need of points and free-throw shooting.

Fri Jun 24 201109:58Corey Maggette may be asked to score more
Corey Maggette may be asked to carry a heavy offensive load for the Bobcats next season -- their returning roster averaged just 62.4 ppg in the NBA last season.
This doesn't include any scoring from rookies, of course, but then again nobody expects Bismack Biyombo and Kemba Walker to be lighting up the scoreboard. Give a small by-default fantasy boost to guys like Tyrus Thomas, D.J. Augustin, Maggette, and Gerald Henderson.

Fri Jun 24 201102:24Corey Maggette heads to Charlotte in trade
Corey Maggette was traded to the Bobcats along with No. 7 pick Bismack Biyombo in a 3-team deal agreed upon prior to the draft on Thursday.
Bobcats fans can argue the merit of whether or not $21 million over the next two years is worth it for a 32-year old with injury issues, but after the departure of Stephen Jackson his scoring will be sorely needed. Should the roster stay configured like this, Maggette could possibly be undervalued after last year's disaster.

Wed Jun 22 201123:03Bucks willing to move Maggette
The Bucks are open to moving Corey Maggette in a trade, according to ESPN.com.
The Bucks are reportedly trying to move out of the No. 10 spot, but someone would likely have to take Maggette's contract off their hands. The oft-injured swingman is owed about $21.1 million over the final two years of his deal. That's a tough pill to swallow considering Maggette is entering his age-32 season.

Sun Apr 10 201100:56Maggette plays eight minutes vs. Cavaliers
Corey Maggette played just eight minutes on Saturday, scoring four points on free throws (0-for-3 from the field) with one rebound and one assist.
The decision to acquire Maggette at about $10 million per year and sit him on the bench all year, is either an indictment of Scott Skiles or general manager John Hammond, and any way you slice it he is a sunk cost right now. That said, while you can't in good faith add Maggette, it wouldn't be surprising to see Skiles unleash him randomly.

Thu Apr 7 201100:15Maggette posts low-end line off the bench
Corey Maggette scored 14 points off the bench in Wednesday's loss to the Heat, hitting 4-of-7 shots from the field with four rebounds and three assists in 20 minutes.
Like the rest of the bunch in Milwaukee, he could end up being useful, but he's near impossible to count on right now. Just keep an eye on him now that the Bucks are out of the playoffs.

Sun Apr 3 201101:12Maggette starts, plays 22 minutes
Corey Maggette started for injured Carlos Delfino (ribs) on Saturday, scoring eight points on 2-of-6 shooting with five rebounds in 22 minutes.
He got an identical 22 minutes on Friday, and with his recent complaints about not playing we're pretty sure it's not his knee that's holding him back. Whatever the case may be, until we see him produce, there's no real reason to consider adding Maggette at this time.

Fri Apr 1 201122:45Maggette finally gets minutes for Bucks
Corey Maggette had 13 points and four rebounds in 22 minutes on Friday.
He got run over Carlos Delfino tonight, who failed to score on 0-for-4 shooting. We doubt Maggette is worth owning in fantasy, but it's possible Scott Skiles is about ready to shake up his lineup and rotation again. Keep an eye on him.
