Mon Mar 19 201210:58Maggette out, Reggie Williams likely to start
Corey Maggette (back, illness) will not play in Monday's game against the Sixers.
Maggette has a long history of back issues and the Bobcats have three full days off after Monday. Sitting him down is a no-brainer. Reggie Williams is expected to start at small forward and Kemba Walker will see a boost in minutes as well. Williams has averaged 12.0 points and 1.6 3-pointers in 11 starts this season.

Sun Mar 18 201213:37Corey Maggette (back) unlikely to play Monday
Corey Maggette (back) is a "real long shot" to play in Monday's game, according to Rick Bonnell.
Maggette came into Saturday's game with a nagging back problem, and during the game he hurt his back again when he landed on stairs while trying to keep a ball inbounds. His injury history is well known to fantasy owners, and with only three games next week he's not a good option in most leagues.

Sat Mar 17 201223:06Corey Maggette finishes w/ 'very sore' back
Corey Maggette finished Saturday's game with a "very sore back" after landing on a flight of stairs while chasing down a loose ball.
Maggette has a history of back issues and recently had an injury scare related to his back, so this isn't encouraging. He finished out the fourth quarter of Saturday's game and was still effective, however, so for now we're calling him probable vs. the Sixers on Monday.

Sat Mar 17 201222:11Maggette shoots 14-of-14 from the FT line
Corey Maggette had 21 points, four rebounds and three assists on Saturday, shooting a perfect 14-of-14 from the charity stripe.
Despite his 3-of-11 shooting, this exemplifies 'good' Maggette -- he was aggressive, got to the FT line repeatedly, and probably won the FT percentage category for many owners. His back injury was a false alarm, so congrats if you kept him locked into your lineups.

Fri Mar 16 201200:01Maggette scores 21 points against the Mavs
Corey Maggette got back on track on Thursday against the Mavs, scoring 21 points on 5-of-15 shooting (2-of-4 from deep, 9-of-10 from the line) with two rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 31 minutes.
Owners that rolled the dice on Maggette this week will be glad to see this after a back injury derailed his week. If he has been dropped give him a look as an injury-prone, but often productive scorer.

Wed Mar 14 201223:24Maggette struggles through sore back
Corey Maggette played on Wednesday despite a back injury, but hit just 3-of-9 shots for 10 points and two 3-pointers in a bad loss to the Rockets.
Give Maggette credit for fighting through the injury and look for him to bounce back in his next one as long as he's healthy. He had scored between 19 and 29 points in his previous five games before suffering the injury on Monday. Reggie Williams added 10 points, four rebounds and four assists off the bench, but only deserves a look if Maggette is going to miss games.

Wed Mar 14 201219:10Corey Maggette to play on Wednesday
Corey Maggette is expected to try to play through his back injury on Wednesday against the Rockets.
Maggette lasted just eight minutes on Monday before "wrenching" his back, but had been on a tear entering that game. Consider him a high-risk, high-reward play tonight, and start him at your own discretion.

Wed Mar 14 201213:36Corey Maggette listed as game-time decision
Corey Maggette (back) is listed as a game-time decision against the Rockets on Wednesday.
Maggette left Monday's game with back spasms and did not return, but clearly the injury isn't as bad as some had expected. If Maggette is forced to miss time, Reggie Williams should draw the start at small forward and has averaged 12.0 points and 1.6 treys in nine starts this year.

Tue Mar 13 201215:05Corey Maggette says he'll recover quickly
Corey Maggette (back) claimed he should recover quickly.
Maggette was going for a steal on Monday night when he "wrenched" his back. "I felt something bad," he admitted. The oft-injured Maggette was unable to come back in the game and is listed as day-to-day. Reggie Williams projects as the starting small forward for as long as the slow-healing Maggette is out. Williams has averaged 12.0 points and 1.6 3-pointers in his nine starts this season.

Mon Mar 12 201221:22Maggette leaves w/ back spasms, won't return
Corey Maggette left Monday's game with back spasms and will not return.
He played just eight minutes and this is obviously disastrous news for his owners. However, it also should not come as a surprise to anyone, as nearly every blurb we've posted about him this year mentions how fragile he is. Maggette is day-to-day for now and Reggie Williams started for him in the second half.

Wed Mar 7 201222:42Maggette scores 25 in loss to Jazz
Corey Maggette had 25 points and seven rebounds on 6-of-12 shooting in Wednesday's loss.
He had 29 & 7 in his last one and is basically going for a similar line every night, and hitting his free throws. He was 13-of-14 from the line tonight, and should be owned in all fantasy leagues until he suffers another injury.

Tue Mar 6 201221:48Corey Maggette scores 29 to lead CHA to win
Corey Maggette had a season-high 29 points to go along with seven rebounds and a 3-pointer on 9-of-17 shooting in Tuesday's unlikely win over the Magic.
The Bobcats hope to develop their young guys going forward, but Maggette is logging heavy minutes, averaging 21 points, 4.4 rebounds and a 3-pointer per game over his last five. He also hit 10-of-11 free throws and owners should plan on riding him until he breaks.

Sun Mar 4 201220:52Bobcats lose fifth consecutive game on Sunday
The Bobcats lost their fifth straight game on Sunday, despite Corey Maggette's season-high 25 points on 4-of-12 FGs and 15-of-16 FTs.
The high FT attempts (and makes) are vintage Maggette, and his aggression is a great sign, but we're getting tired of citing his horrible FG percentage. He's mired at 35 percent on the season and shows no signs of improvement -- until his shots start falling, he's hard to justify starting in average leagues.

Thu Mar 1 201203:01Maggette scores 17 despite sore knee
Corey Maggette played through a sore knee on Wednesday, finishing with 17 points, five boards and a 3-pointer in 29 minutes.
The Bobcats were awful in this one as Paul Silas divided minutes up between 13 players. Maggette made it through tonight's game and should continue to play solid minutes, but at some point you have to think he's going to shut it down early for the league's worth team. Think about moving him before it happens.

Tue Feb 28 201215:13Maggette, Henderson both ready for Bobcats
Corey Maggette (knee) and Gerald Henderson (hamstring) both practiced in full Tuesday.
Maggette had a scare over the All-Star break as he was originally diagnosed with a torn meniscus. A second opinion said otherwise and he's been cleared to play, even though he'll likely need a cleanup procedure after the season. Maggette projects as a starter Wednesday while Henderson will come off the bench behind Reggie Williams for at least one game.

Mon Feb 27 201220:57Maggette sits out Monday w/ knee inflammation
Corey Maggette did not practice on Monday due to right knee inflammation.
Maggette plans to practice on Tuesday and hopes to play on Wednesday, but it's hard to imagine a less ominous development heading into the second half of the year. Owners should be looking at anything Maggette provides as house money, and backup Reggie Williams is a guy that owners will want to keep tabs on.

Sun Feb 19 201220:31Corey Maggette's FG struggles continue
Corey Maggette had another rough outing vs. the Pacers on Sunday, scoring 10 points on 4-of-14 FGs and 2-of-4 FTs.
Maggette added just two rebounds and one turnover in 20 minutes. He is shooting 40 percent in February, which is actually an improvement from his season average of 34.6 percent.

Thu Feb 16 201202:55Maggette scores 18 points in loss to MIN
Corey Maggette scored 18 points on 6-of-17 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and a steal in 32 minutes on Wednesday.
Maggette could come up against a minute-crunch when Gerald Henderson (hamstring) returns, but owners are probably pretty safe in assuming his minutes and production are going to be there -- until he gets hurt. Maggette should be owned in all 12-team formats for his expected production, but anybody making long-term plans here is fooling themselves.

Mon Feb 13 201223:56Maggette scores 22 points in loss to Sixers
Corey Maggette scored 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting (no threes, 6-of-8 from the foul line) with two rebounds and three steals in 32 minutes on Monday.
Maggette also drew some scrutiny from announcers that questioned if he tweaked his fragile hamstring, but owners could easily just call that a given every night. He should be added because of his expected production, but owners just need to consider him day-to-day in terms of health.
