Tue Jul 24 2012 | 17:01 | Report: Grizzlies hope to re-sign Haddadi |
Having traded away backup big man Dante Cunningham, the Grizzlies will "look to re-sign [Hamed] Haddadi," according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal. |
The Grizzlies hope to retain Haddadi for "close to the minimum." He's done very little of interest in his four-year NBA career, averaging 2.1 points and 2.2 rebounds in 121 games, but at 7'2", 270 lbs he's a nice insurance policy behind Marc Gasol. |

Mon Mar 26 2012 | 01:13 | Hamed Haddadi racks up 10 points on Sunday |
Backup center Hamed Haddadi was clutch for the Grizzlies on Sunday, racking up 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks in a mere 13 minutes of action. |
This was a season-high in playing time for Haddadi, who helped Memphis body up to the Lakers' frontcourt. He gives them useful depth and will likely be a factor in the playoffs, but he's not on fantasy radars. |

Grizzlies center Hamed Haddadi is still waiting for the appropriate paperwork to clear before he can begin playing. |

Hamed Haddadi (personal) did not play on Thursday and we're calling him out 'indefinitely' until a report emerges that he will play. |

Fri Jan 6 2012 | 21:20 | Haddadi out Friday for personal reasons |
Hamed Haddadi (personal) did not play on Friday against the Jazz. |
Haddadi is a bit more interesting with Zach Randolph (knee) out, but not interesting enough to crack him open in anything but a 30-team league. |

Sat Dec 31 2011 | 14:47 | Grizzlies re-sign center Hamed Haddadi |
As expected, the Grizzlies have signed center Hamed Haddadi. |
The deal, which is reportedly for one year, gives Memphis a legitimate 7'0" bruiser to support Marc Gasol. Haddadi doesn't have fantasy appeal unless Gasol goes down -- he's averaged under seven minutes per game in each of his three seasons with the Grizzlies. |

Sat Dec 31 2011 | 09:32 | Grizzlies on the verge of re-signing Haddadi |
The Grizzlies are "on the verge" of re-signing backup center Hamed Haddadi to a one-year contract. |
Haddadi attended Friday's game after arriving in Memphis from Dubai earlier in the day. The Grizzlies decided not to give him a $2 million qualifying offer, so we don't expect them to give him much more than the veterans' minimum. |

Fri Dec 30 2011 | 08:44 | Grizzlies bringing back Hamed Haddadi? |
The Grizzlies are reportedly prepared to bring back Hamed Haddadi. |
Haddadi had his qualifying contract offer rescinded just before the start of the season. He's expected to arrive in Memphis in the next two days with a tourism visa, and if signed, Haddadi will look to land a work visa. Unless Marc Gasol is forced to miss extended time, Hadaddi is not worth consideration for owners. |

Thu Dec 22 2011 | 17:45 | Grizzlies rescind Haddadi qualifying offer |
The Memphis Grizzlies have rescinded their $2 million qualifying offer for center Hamed Haddadi, who is still in Dubai. |
This may not necessarily mean that the Grizzlies don't want the Haddadi back on the team. They could be mulling over a multi-year deal for the big man as well. Stay tuned to see what Memphis does with their backup center. |

Thu Dec 15 2011 | 15:49 | Hamed Haddadi trying to get back to Memphis |
C Hamed Haddadi is trying to workout a buyout with his team in Iran and is expected to re-join the Grizzlies at some point. |
He's dealing with continuing legal troubles stemming from a domestic violence arrest and there is a concern that the Grizz may not want to honor his $2 million qualifying offer. If they do, he'll back up Marc Gasol, but have very limited fantasy value once he returns. |

Sat Sep 24 2011 | 15:16 | Haddadi criticized after Asian Championships |
Hamed Haddadi incurred the wrath of his teammates after a series of fourth-quarter mistakes led to Iran's defeat in the quarter-finals of the Asian Championships. |
The loss (to underdog Jordan) denied Iran a spot in the 2012 Olympics. It didn't help that Haddadi had been bragging prior to the tournament -- he called himself the best Asian center other than Yao Ming, and proclaimed, "[Iran] will be champions, our biggest opponent is China, but we can beat them." After losing to Jordan, they never got the chance. |

Sat Jul 30 2011 | 16:26 | Hamed Haddadi offered $200k a month in China |
Hamed Haddadi has reportedly been offered $200,000 per month to play for the Foshan Dralions in China. |
Haddadi is a restricted free agent with the Grizzlies and would have an 'out' clause for whenever the lockout is resolved. As an Iraqi citizen, Haddadi is considered Asian and would be a potent weapon in the CBA, as explained by NiuBBall.com: "CBA rules allow for one Asian import player to be signed by each of the four teams who finished with the worst record the previous season ... Unlike every team's two American imports, who are not allowed to play on the court together for more than two quarters per game, Asian imports are not subjected to on-court restrictions." |

Fri Jul 29 2011 | 14:33 | Hamed Haddadi in talks to play in China |
Hamed Haddadi is "in talks" to play in China during the lockout, according to his agent. |
Haddadi has been vocal about his displeasure with his role in Memphis, and would relish the opportunity to earn a paycheck while developing as a player. One interesting footnote -- since he's from Iraq he is considered Asian by FIBA, which gives Chinese teams more flexibility to add him to their roster. |

Tue Jun 28 2011 | 18:36 | Grizzlies extend qualifying offer to Haddadi |
The Memphis Grizzlies have extended a qualifying contract offer to center Hamed Hadaddi, officially making him a restricted free agent. |
Haddadi could very well accept the offer considering that he isn't likely to garner major interest on the open market. The 7'2" Iranian center averaged 2.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in 31 games for the Grizzlies last season. |

Wed Jun 22 2011 | 10:09 | Grizz still discussing plans for Haddadi |
The Grizzlies are still discussing whether to extend backup C Hamed Haddadi a $2 million qualifying offer. |
The Grizz have until June 30 to make a decision. If they are confident they can retain restricted free agent Marc Gasol, then bringing back Haddadi may not be possible. They can likely acquire his talent level for the minimum. |
