Thu Apr 7 201111:06Beaubois not ready to play PG yet
Beat writer Tim MacMahon notes that Roddy Beaubois "isn't ready to run a team."
Beaubois started last night in place of Jason Kidd (rest) but flopped badly. He has not played much point guard at all in his career and proved that he is nowhere close to being able to do so. With all the Mavs' depth, Beaubois isn't guaranteed minutes even when guys like Kidd sit.

Thu Apr 7 201100:37Beaubois struggles in start with Kidd out
Roddy Beaubois struggled in his start for Jason Kidd (rest) on Wednesday, scoring six points on 2-of-7 shooting with one rebound, one assist, one steal, and four turnovers in 20 minutes.
He's the proof that experience matters for most players in the league, and after such a serious injury, it's wishful thinking to expect him to simply explode upon takeoff. Even if he has a good night down the stretch, he'll be a risky option no matter how you slice it.

Sun Apr 3 201123:40Roddy B gets crunch time points
Roddy Beaubois took advantage of garbage time Sunday night, ending up with 18 points and four assists in 24 minutes.
Don't read too much into Roddy B's line tonight. When the game was close, he struggled badly with foul trouble and was a non-factor. Beaubois is a good bet for something closer to 15 minutes next time out -- unless Jason Kidd decides to rest.

Sun Apr 3 201102:00Beaubois plays nine minutes vs. Warriors
Roddy Beaubois played just nine minutes on Saturday against the Warriors, scoring two points on 1-of-5 shooting to go with two rebounds and no assists.
J.J. Barea had a huge night (13 points, five rebounds, 11 assists) and made it easy for Rick Carlisle to look away from Roddy, but the fact is that he cannot be trusted to play within the team concept just yet and is rusty on offense. While his fantasy prognosis is bleak, keep an eye on him in case the Mavs decide to rest Jason Kidd, as they may use the time to ramp Beaubois up for the playoffs.

Wed Mar 30 201115:18Roddy Beaubois has added 10-15 lbs of muscle
In an attempt to be tougher on the defensive end, Roddy Beaubois has added 10-15 pounds of muscle mass to his scrawny frame.
His speed and scoring ability are unquestioned but his small size has made him a defensive target. If he can more effectively hold his position, he may become a more rounded player.

Mon Mar 28 201101:20Roddy Beaubois struggles with fouls
Roddy Beaubois struggled with foul trouble Sunday, logging just 13 minutes in a win over the Suns.
Beaubois scored 10 points and made two treys in his meager time on the court, but he got abused defensively by Steve Nash. He hasn't topped 20 minutes in any of his last three games and is too inconsistent to trust right now.

Fri Mar 25 201100:51Roddy B takes a step back Thursday
Roddy Beaubois started again for Dallas on Thursday, but disappeared early and was benched, finishing with three points and one assist.
He is electric when he is on, and can look like this when he is not. He can be a turnover-machine who drive Coach Rick Carlisle crazy, not to mention anyone who ran him in their own lineup. He may be worth having for back-to-back's if Jason Kidd sits one out, but usually he is far too inconsistent to use.

Sun Mar 20 201122:47Roddy Beaubois has another nice game
Roddy Beaubois had 15 points, four assists, four rebounds, two steals and a trey in Sunday's win over the Warriors.
It's all about how many minutes Beaubois will get on a given night. He played 27 tonight and has now played 27 or more in three straight games. It's certainly enough to make the explosive Beaubois usable in deeper fantasy formats. His per-minute numbers are scary.

Thu Mar 17 201102:31Beaubois plays 37 minutes in win over GSW
Roddy Beaubois played a season-high 37 minutes on Wednesday, torching the Warriors for 18 points, two rebounds, four assists, four steals and a 3-pointer in the win.
He hit 7-of-11 shots and while his minutes are not easily explainable, it's possible he earned coach Rick Carlisle's trust tonight. He had 16 points on Tuesday, and could be ready to start seeing more than 15 minutes per game. He played a season-high 22 in the last one before getting 37 tonight, so it looks like it's time to pick him up. The Mavs play three games next week, and four in the following stanza.

Wed Mar 16 201100:50Beaubois plays well on Tuesday
Roddy Beaubois finally played like a starter on Tuesday, hitting 6-of-8 shots and four 3-pointers for 16 points, two rebounds, four assists and a steal in Tuesday's loss.
Beaubois has been highly disappointing as a starter for Dallas, but finally woke up tonight. Jason Kiss was invisible, but we need to see Roddy B do this again before being sold on him as a somewhat reliable fantasy player.

Sun Mar 13 201103:06Beaubois scores two points in 14 minutes
Roddy Beaubois scored just two points on 1-of-7 shooting with six rebounds in 14 minutes on Saturday.
It's not this performance, but the fact that he missed the entire season and plays in a crowded situation that has us down on Roddy Buckets. If you haven't moved on already, the time to do so is now.

Tue Mar 8 201100:52Roddy Buckets posts decent line on Monday
Roddy Beaubois scored nine points on 4-of-10 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and four assists in just 17 minutes on Monday.
We aren't that optimistic about his ability to carve out minutes in Dallas' logjam, but if he is going to earn minutes as Rick Carlisle has said he must do, this is an active line to head into the right direction. Regardless, he should be planted firmly on the waiver wire until further notice.

Thu Mar 3 201111:09Beaubois must earn his minutes
Coach Rick Carlisle said that Roddy Beaubois must earn more minutes.
Beaubois is averaging just 17.2 minutes per game through his first six games of the season and logged just 12.6 on Tuesday night. With J.J. Barea and Jason Terry playing well, Beaubois is an afterthought even though he is starting. "If his play warrants more minutes," Carlisle said, "he'll play more minutes." Owners should move on.

Wed Mar 2 201101:30Beaubois not getting it done for owners
Roddy Beaubois scored six points on 3-of-6 shooting (no threes) with no rebounds and one assist in 13 minutes on Tuesday.
He is the starter, but he's nowhere near ready to be relied upon by fantasy owners. Drop him for a hot free agent, and we'll let you know if he starts to heat up.

Sun Feb 27 201121:06Beaubois very quiet again on Sunday
Rodrigue Beaubois was invisible on Sunday -- he started but had just five points and one assist in 15 minutes.
Beaubois is still finding his rhythm after a prolonged absence, but fantasy owners don't have time to wait for him to figure things out. If you own him, feel free to cut him for a hot free agent.
Sat Feb 26 201123:06Roddy Beaubois only gets 13 minutes in win
Roddy Beaubois played just 13 minutes and had two points, three rebounds and three assists on 1-of-7 shooting Saturday.
Rick Carlisle is up to his old tricks again, as the Mavericks are just too deep in the backcourt. As long as Roddy B is starting, he's probably worth owning, but is not yet a must-start fantasy player. And if you want to cut him for a hot free agent like Chase Budinger or Gerald Henderson, go for it.
Fri Feb 18 201112:49Beaubois locked in as starter
ESPN Dallas confirms that Roddy Beaubois will stick in the starting lineup going forward.
It's obvious that Beaubois is a better player than DeShawn Stevenson and the Mavs like playing Beaubois next to Kidd. He projects to start every game for the rest of the year. However, getting up to true starter's minutes is another matter. Beaubois only played 19 on Thursday night even with J.J. Barea (flu) out. Foul trouble was an issue, but we'd look for Beaubois to settle in around 26-29 minutes nightly.

Fri Feb 18 201101:40Beaubois starts, limited by fouls
In just his second game since returning from a foot injury, Roddy Beaubois started but was limited to just 19 minutes due to foul trouble, finishing with nine points and two assists.
Even though he started tonight, don't get too excited just yet. Jose Juan Barea was out with the flu Thursday, and Roddy B. will compete with Barea for minutes behind Jason Kidd and Jason Terry. Stash him if you have an open roster spot, but wait until he gets comfortable before running him.
Thu Feb 17 201123:00Roddy B & Peja make surprise start for Mavs
Roddy Beaubois and Peja Stojakovic made surprise starts for the Mavs Thursday against the Suns.
Both may be worth a look if this lineup sticks, but the Mavs have a deep rotation and it's hard to forecast their impact. The Mavericks definitely need some consistent scoring besides Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry, so watch the boxscores and see how it plays out.
Thu Feb 17 201111:37Beaubois only plays next to Kidd
Roddy Beaubois played exclusively at the shooting guard spot next to Jason Kidd in his season debut Wednesday.
DeShawn Stevenson started at the "two," but coach Rick Carlisle subbed Beaubois in just two minutes and seven seconds into the game. And it was immediately apparent why the Mavs are so high on the 6-foot Frenchman. Beaubois had 13 points, six assists and three steals in just 20.9 minutes while playing in his first game since last season. Look for Roddy B to start soon and push for 26-29 minutes.
