Thu Mar 29 201222:43Beaubois goes scoreless on Thursday
Roddy Beaubois went scoreless on Thursday against the Heat.
Buckets went 0-for-2 from the field in 15 minutes, adding one assist and one steal to go with his two turnovers. Delonte West (finger) returned tonight, playing eight minutes, but we're guessing that Rick Carlisle didn't trust Beaubois as much in a big game. Regardless, owners would have to have more faith than us to hang onto him after this result.

Wed Mar 28 201200:25Roddy Beaubois fill stat sheet in win
Roddy Beaubois came off the bench for 14 points, three rebounds, five assists, a steal and a 3-pointer on 5-of-9 shooting in 27 minutes Tuesday.
He's averaging close to 10 points, three rebounds, five assists, a steal and a 3-pointer over his last five games, making him worth a look in many fantasy leagues. And with the Mavs finishing up with a 4-4-4 weekly schedule, Beaubois should continue to put up comparable numbers the rest of the way.

Sat Mar 24 201223:41Roddy B returns to bench role, VC starts
Roddy Beaubois moved back to a reserve role vs. the Rockets on Saturday, scoring just six points in 26 minutes.
The Mavs seem determined to keep his minutes in check so that he doesn't burn out before the playoffs even start, but a steady 30-minute role (whether he's starting or coming off the bench) should be enough for him to hold value in eight- and nine-cat leagues. It's not as though Vince Carter (four points in 22 minutes) is demanding more playing time, so just keep an eye on Roddy going forward.

Sat Mar 24 201220:01Roddy Beaubois benched, Vince Carter starts
Roddy Beaubois will come off the Mavs' bench on Saturday behind Vince Carter.
Beaubois' playing time has been a point of concern for Rick Carlisle, and this isn't a good sign for his fantasy owners. Check back after the game to see how he fares.

Sat Mar 24 201204:10Roddy Beaubois starts on Friday vs. Spurs
Roddy Beaubois started with Shawn Marion (knee) back in the starting lineup on Friday, and scored 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, five assists, and a steal in 28 minutes.
Vince Carter (three points, 24 minutes) is scuffling and there is still no update on Delonte West (finger) other than that he is cleared for "light" workouts. We're not sold on Beaubois' future consistency, but if he's going to maintain the starting job (and he might) then there's enough upside to warrant being owned in 12-team formats. He has been producing at a mid-round level over the last two weeks.

Tue Mar 20 201201:32Beaubois scores 14 points vs. Nuggets
Roddy Beaubois started again with Shawn Marion (knee) out, and scored 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, six assists, and a steal in 36 minutes.
Beaubois has been fairly productive with the minutes he has received, but that's the key issue going forward when Marion and Delonte West (finger) returns.

Mon Mar 19 201210:46Carlisle expressed concern over Roddy's mins
Coach Rick Carlisle once again expressed concern over Roddy Beaubois' workload.
Beaubois has played 25 minutes or more in five straight games and racked up 35 on Saturday thanks in part to Shawn Marion's knee injury. "One of the downsides to starting him is his minutes get run way up," Carlisle said. "He's not used to playing 35, 36 minutes a game. We got to be mindful of it because of the frequency of games." Beaubois is a 24-year-old athletic beast, so this looks like an excuse out of Carlisle. Once the Mavs' roster gets healthy, we can expect an inconsistency in minutes.

Sat Mar 17 201223:40Roddy Beaubois impresses in another start
Roddy Beaubois started at SG for the Mavericks on Saturday, with Shawn Marion (knee) out of commission, and wound up with 16 points on 8-of-16 shooting, eight rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Roddy B continually teases fantasy owners with his across-the-board potential, only to slip back into a nearly irrelevant role off the Mavs' bench. He was controlled and effective in 35 minutes tonight, but given that his start came due to a teammates' injury, we're not reading much into this line.

Fri Mar 16 201200:17Beaubois scores 14 points off the bench
Roddy Beaubois scored 14 points off the bench on Thursday against the Bobcats, hitting 7-of-9 shots from the field with four rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 25 minutes.
Beaubois is posting mid-to-late round value over his last nine games, averaging 12.2 points, 1.0 threes, 2.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.3 blocks in 25 minutes while shooting 50 percent from the field. The lack of counting stats is a bit of a bummer and the shooting line is artificially high, but he's building a base of low-end production to give owners something to hang onto while chasing the upside.

Wed Mar 14 201202:36Beaubois posts 19-6-4 line off the bench
Roddy Beaubois scored 19 points and played the entire fourth quarter on Tuesday, hitting 8-of-14 shots (no threes) with six rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block in 28 minutes off the bench.
Jason Terry also played the entire fourth quarter, scoring 24 points on 10-of-20 shooting with four rebounds, two threes, and a steal, and the key here is that the Mavs were playing the Wizards. We wouldn't adjust outlooks much, if at all, here.

Sun Mar 11 201201:20Roddy Beaubois plays 34 minutes off bench
Roddy Beaubois came off the bench in Saturday's ugly loss to the Warriors, but he logged 34 minutes and had 12 points, two 3-pointers, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
This was a fine game from Roddy B, but he got heavy playing time because Jason Kidd was resting as a precaution. He remains an unreliable fantasy option, sadly, especially with the Mavs' unfavorable weekly schedules for the rest of March.

Sat Mar 10 201203:58Beaubois not impressive in limited minutes
Roddy Beaubois scored five points on 1-of-6 shooting with four rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 25 minutes off the bench on Friday.
The Mavs got handled pretty well here by the Kings, making the game an outlier, but if Beaubois was more established he certainly would have gotten more run with the team playing their ninth game in 12 nights. He also attempted a between the legs pass near the end of the game that resulted in a turnover, which isn't going to win him any favor with the coach. He can be dropped for a hot free agent, but keep an eye on him in case he picks it back up.

Tue Mar 6 201223:56Roddy Beaubois scores 18 off bench
Roddy Beaubois hit 6-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers on his way to 18 points, two rebounds, one assist and a steal off the bench in Tuesday's win.
Beaubois was a hot pickup this week with five games and came through tonight. We'd like him better if he was starting, but Vince Carter continues to hold down the starting shooting guard job on most nights. The Mavs play just three games per week in two of the next three, meaning Beaubois might be better served on waivers in place of a guy who will be more productive in four or five games.

Tue Mar 6 201201:45Roddy scores nine pts w/ three stls, two blks
Roddy Beaubois scored nine points in 21 minutes off the bench against the Mavs, hitting 3-of-9 shots from the field (including a three) with one rebound, one assist, three steals, and two blocks.
The steals and blocks highlight some of his upside, and if owners didn't drop him after his three-point outing on Saturday this will give them some food for thought. If Rick Carlisle wasn't just providing cover when he said that he was concerned about Bucket's workload, it might be worth holding to see where this all goes. Vince Carter didn't exactly light it up with zero points, one rebound, and one assist in 10 minutes, either.

Mon Mar 5 201209:21Carlisle sends Roddy back to bench
Coach Rick Carlisle cited workload concerns when asked why Roddy Beaubois went back to the bench Saturday night.
On Friday, Beaubois started at shooting guard and scored 25 points in 31 minutes. On Saturday, he came off the bench for three points in 20 minutes. "I was concerned tonight about the minutes that he ran up last night and the fact that this is the fourth game in five nights and he's coming off basically a week off where he didn't do much," Carlisle said Saturday. Beaubois figures to be a reserve most nights, but he is back in the regular rotation and averaging 28.2 minutes over his last four games.

Sat Mar 3 201223:43Roddy Beaubois vanishes back into Mavs' bench
Roddy Beaubois shifted back to a reserve role vs. the Jazz on Saturday, and he had just three points and two assists in 20 minutes.
This is a major letdown after Roddy's 25-point outburst in a start on Friday. The upside is there, but with Vince Carter starting and Delonte West due back in a week or two, we can't blame you for cutting Roddy as quickly as you picked him up.

Sat Mar 3 201202:19Beaubois starts, scores season-high 25 points
Roddy Beaubois was moved into the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Hornets, scoring a season-high 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds, three assists, four steals, and just one turnover in 31 minutes.
Beat writer Eddie Sefko mentioned in passing that Beaubois might have earned more time as the starter and we certainly agree. On one hand, the Mavs desperately need his penetration for a largely lifeless attack, but Delonte West (finger) will return in 1-2 weeks and help address that. In the meantime, Beaubois will play a hybrid PG/SG role, taking the ball in isolation after Jason Kidd pushes in transition and ultimately spots up. Beaubois' upside should be no surprise to anybody, and we're fully on board with adding him in 12-team formats.

Fri Mar 2 201220:01Beaubois to start Friday; Carter to bench
Roddy Beaubois will start Friday's game against the Hornets, sending Vince Carter to the bench.
This is surely going to send fantasy owners into a frenzy, and he's likely to be grabbed in many 12-team formats regardless of whether or not it's a good idea. If he does well, expect him to be gone by the end of the game. This could be any number of things for Rick Carlisle, including a chance to let Beaubois roll against a beatable Hornets team -- but it might also be a sign that he believes Lamar Odom can't help them and they need Buckets to step up. We know the type of upside Beaubois has, so he deserves consideration as a risky, speculative add in 12-team formats. Delonte West returns in the next 1-2 weeks to clutter things up.

Thu Mar 1 201200:28Roddy Beaubois logs nearly 38 minutes
Roddy Beaubois logged 37 minutes off the bench Wednesday, scoring 16 points to go with three assists and one steal.
Dirk Nowitzki left after nine minutes with a sore back, Delonte West (finger) remains out and Lamar Odom (personal) is day-to-day. In other words, there were a lot of extra minutes for the highly-talented Beaubois to soak up. Still, it's clear that Beaubois is out of coach Rick Carlisle's doghouse as he got 24 minutes on Tuesday. We know there's upside here thanks to Roddy B's explosive offensive ability.

Wed Feb 29 201200:40Roddy Beaubois plays well in return
Roddy Beaubois returned from a personal leave and had 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals on 3-of-10 shooting in 24 minutes.
He'll be too inconsistent coming off the bench on most night, but he got more run than Vince Carter tonight. Deep leaguers should take notice, but Beaubois is still not a must-own player in most leagues.
