Mon Feb 27 201217:47Roddy Beaubois back with team
Roddy Beaubois (personal) returned to practice Monday.
Beaubois will be ready to serve a backup guard role in Tuesday's game against the Nets. He was picking up DNP-CDs once Jason Kidd got healthy in mid-February, but that might change with Delonte West (finger) out.

Tue Feb 21 201217:03Roddy Beaubois on the trade block?
Roddy Beaubois is a candidate to be traded by the March 15 deadline, sources tell ESPN's Chris Broussard.
Even when Jason Kidd was hurt, Beaubois lost the starting point guard job to the likes of Delonte West. According to Broussard, the Mavs are "about ready to move on" despite Roddy B's massive talent. He'll be a name for fantasy owners to watch at the deadline.

Tue Feb 21 201212:01Roddy Beaubois to return after All-Star break
Roddy Beaubois (personal) will return after the All-Star break.
Beaubois will remain with his family through the break and will be ready to play after the break. Since Jason Kidd has been back out on the floor, Beaubois has been a complete non-factor and is not someone who holds value in standard sized leagues right now.

Fri Feb 17 201210:18Roddy Beaubois likely out through break
Mavs guard Roddy Beaubois isn't likely to play again before the All-Star break due to the death of his father.
Roddy B, Jason Terry and Delonte West are out for the Mavs right now, meaning more run for Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Dominique Jones. Terry could make his return on Sunday from a personal leave, but the other two will be out longer.

Wed Feb 15 201219:19Beaubois (personal) out on Wednesday
Roddy Beaubois will not play on Wednesday against the Nuggets due to the death of his father.
Our condolences go out to Beaubois and his family. With Jason Terry (quad) also out the Mavs backcourt just got a little bit thinner. Give Vince Carter and Delonte West consideration for a spot-play, particularly in deeper formats.

Mon Feb 13 201211:15Roddy Beaubois not playing with Kidd back
Roddy Beaubois has been a DNP-CD in each of the last two games.
With Jason Kidd back, Beaubois has slid all the way to the end of the bench. It's remarkable how such a talented player can get buried, but coach Rick Carlisle clearly doesn't trust Roddy B. An injury or a change of scenery is the only way he gets back on the radar.

Sat Feb 4 201222:53Roddy Beaubois unimpressive in bench role
Sliding into a bench role on Saturday, Rodrigue Beaubois was scoreless with five assists, two steals and one block.
Roddy played 20 minutes but his arrow is pointing down, especially since he hasn't even mustered reliable numbers with Jason Kidd injured.

Thu Feb 2 201201:14Roddy Beaubois quiet in another loss
Roddy Beaubois hit just 3-of-13 shots for nine points, four rebounds and four assists in Wednesday's loss.
Roddy Buckets is going to continue to get run all season with Jason Kidd injured (and old), but whether Kidd ever hands the reins to Beaubois remains to be seen. He's at least worth hanging onto for as long as Kidd is out.

Tue Jan 31 201203:12Beaubois gets upstaged by West in start
Roddy Beaubois started at point guard for injured Jason Kidd (calf) on Monday, scoring eight points on 4-of-8 shooting with two rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one block in 24 minutes.
Beaubois was upstaged by Delonte West's 9-of-12 shooting night, and both are worth a look as short-term pickups with Kidd being out for at least this week. The question on everybody's mind is whether or not the Mavs will ever pass the torch to Beaubois and make Kidd a less featured player, but owners need to go down that road knowing full-well that it's not favored to happen and might be a long shot.

Mon Jan 30 201215:03Carlisle ready to roll with Roddy Beaubois
Coach Rick Carlisle confirmed that he plans on riding Roddy Beaubois at point guard with Jason Kidd (calf) sidelined.
Unlike previous stints, it looks like Beaubois has a long leash this time. "This is where you learn a lot in a short period of time," Carlisle said. Beaubois is a special offensive talent that once scored 40 points in a 2010 game and also has 10 blocks in his last three games. He'll start and play at 32-plus minutes for at least the next week.

Sun Jan 29 201222:25Roddy Beaubois plays well, blocking shots
Roddy Beaubois started at point guard on Sunday and had 14 points, three rebounds, seven assists and three more blocks on 7-of-16 shooting in Sunday's OT win over the Spurs.
With news that Jason Kidd could be out for a week or more with his calf injury, Beaubois looks like an automatic pick and play for Week 6, if you have point guard needs, or someone to cut. But the most interesting thing about Roddy B is the fact he's racked up 15 blocks in his last six games.

Sat Jan 28 201202:14Roddy Beaubois has big night for Mavs
Roddy Beaubois started at shooting guard Friday and had a season-high 22 points along with six rebounds, seven assists, a steals, four blocks and three 3-pointers as the Mavs handled the Jazz on Friday.
Beaubois started at shooting guard and then took over at point guard when Jason Kidd left after two minutes with a right calf injury. If Kidd is going to miss time with his injury, Roddy B will be worth using as a short-term pick up in many leagues, and was fantastic on Friday.

Fri Jan 27 201220:34Beaubois starting for injured Delonte West
Roddy Beaubois will start for injured Delonte West (hamstring) on Friday.
Vince Carter is coming back off a foot injury and there's a decent chance that Beaubois eclipses 25 minutes tonight. If he has a big game we'll figure out where he lands on the fantasy spectrum, but even in a best-case scenario we'd be concerned about the log-jam at shooting guard.

Fri Jan 20 201201:20Roddy Buckets scores season-high 17 points
Roddy Beaubois scored a season-high 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 18 minutes on Thursday against the Jazz.
Let the hype begin, though owners should know that Buckets can't be trusted just yet. He scored 15 points on January 13, but has games of six, zero, and two points since then prior to tonight. Yes, Vince Carter (foot) is out and Jason Kidd is old, but this smells like a hot-hand situation between he and Delonte West. We're taking a wait-and-see approach for now in most formats.

Sat Jan 14 201201:51Roddy Buckets scores season-high 15 pts
Roddy Beaubois scored a season-high 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes of garbage time on Friday.
Jason Kidd is coming back soon and there is no real chance of fantasy value here. You can bank on Dallas beat writers blowing it up if there is any indication that Buckets is gaining Rick Carlisle's trust, and that hasn't happened yet. We'll let you know if it does.

Sun Jan 8 201200:22Beaubois, West to handle point guard duties
Roddy Beaubois came off the bench for 11 points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in just 16 minutes on Saturday.
Delonte West started at point guard as Jason Kidd will miss a couple more games with a back injury. That means Beaubois could be relevant again on Tuesday and Wednesday at Detroit and Boston. But once Kidd is healthy the Mavs should go back to having a bit of a logjam in the backcourt.

Thu Jan 5 201223:34Beaubois starts second half w/ mixed results
Roddy Beaubois started the second half of Thursday's game due to Jason Kidd's (back) exit, and finished with four points on 1-of-8 shooting with five rebounds, one assist, one steal, and three blocks.
Beaubois has great athleticism and rode a wave of hype that never panned out, and he has struggled this year. Buckets was passed over for backup PG duties by Delonte West, and tonight had the feel of a tryout for him. In a blowout between tired teams, we're hesitant to get excited about the result. Unless Rick Carlisle announces that Beaubois will start and Kidd is out for a while, we're passing in 12-team leagues.

Thu Jan 5 201222:09Beaubois starts second half for Kidd (back)
Roddy Beaubois started the second half for Jason Kidd (back) on Thursday.
Kidd is unlikely to return and the Mavs are down by a lot, though we don't know how much the latter factored into Rick Carlisle's decision-making. Delonte West had the backup PG job before sliding over to starting SG, and after the injury occurred Jason Terry handled most of the PG duties. Our guess is that this is a tryout for Roddy B, who has not played well this year and is 1-of-7 so far tonight. Neither Beaubois nor West are must-add players until we know Kidd's status.

Sun Jan 1 201214:56Beaubois focusing on consistency for Mavs
Rodrigue Beaubois is averaging 14 minutes per game this season in a backup PG role.
"We need to give [Jason Kidd] as much rest as we can possibly give him," said Beaubois. He's focused on being more consistent when he steps on the court, but thus far he's shooting just 33% from the field with as many turnovers as assists (five each).

Tue Dec 27 201105:01Beaubois gets some quick buckets for DAL
Roddy Beaubois scored 10 quick points in Monday's blowout loss, hitting 3-of-5 shots (including two threes) to go with two rebounds, one assist, and two steals in 15 minutes off the bench.
An inconsistent, playground type of player like Beaubois is probably the last thing the Mavs need to right their ship, but sometimes throwing a monkey wrench into things is what is needed. We're not saying it's going to happen, and the log-jam at guard will keep Roddy's value down, but don't be surprised if he gets a longer look by Rick Carlisle if the Mavs keep losing.
