Mon Jan 7 201322:47Price (hand) returns to action vs. Thunder
A.J. Price returned to action after a 15-game absence due to a right (shooting) hand injury on Monday, scoring four points on 2-of-6 shooting with five rebounds, five assists, and one steal in 16 minutes.
Price and Garrett Temple (nine points, 3-of-8 FGs, four boards, three assists, one steal, one block) will compete for minutes in a timeshare, limiting their fantasy appeal to deeper formats.

Mon Jan 7 201317:41A.J. Price could return Tuesday vs. Thunder
A.J. Price (hand) is listed as probable for Monday's game in the Wizards' official game notes.
He's also listed as 'out' on the Wizards.com game preview, however, and even if he does return he's unlikely to provide much fantasy value. He could overtake Garrett Temple for the starting PG job, but with John Wall nearing a return this second-tier position battle will soon be irrelevant.

Mon Dec 31 201210:10Price has hard cast removed, now in soft cast
A.J. Price (hand) had his hard cast removed, but he'll be in a soft cast and still needs "at least another week" before ramping up basketball-related activities.
Price remains out indefinitely simply because his clearance to ramp up activities is not an indicator of his readiness to return to live action. When he is ready to return, both Shelvin Mack and Garrett Temple are candidates to be waived.

Sat Dec 8 201222:02A.J. Price fractures right hand on Saturday
A.J. Price fractured his right hand on Saturday and will be sidelined indefinitely.
Bradley Beal handed out six assists in 40 minutes with Price unavailable, Jordan Crawford dropped eight dimes off the bench, and Shaun Livingston wound up playing 14 minutes. Randy Wittman will patch together PG play for however long Price is sidelined, which will likely be measured in weeks, and John Wall's absence is more painful than ever for the 2-15 Wizards.

Sat Dec 8 201219:43A.J. Price doubtful to return w/ hand injury
A.J. Price left Saturday's game with a right hand injury, and he's doubtful to return.
We'll post more information as it becomes available -- with John Wall still out indefinitely, any games missed by Price would mean extra playing time for Bradley Beal, Jordan Crawford and Shaun Livingston.

Sat Dec 1 201203:07Price scores eight points in start at PG
A.J. Price scored eight points on 3-of-7 shooting (including two threes) with four rebounds and two assists over 25 minutes in Friday's loss to the Knicks.
Price appears to be in a timeshare with Shaun Livingston (17 minutes), though we wouldn't be surprised if the status of that changes from night to night. If you were relying on Price in a 12-14 team league, feel free to move onto a hot free agent.

Wed Nov 28 201222:23A.J. Price struggles in Wizards win
A.J. Price hit just 1-of-7 shots for three points, three rebounds, six assists and a 3-pointer in Wednesday's win over the Blazers.
It's probably not a coincidence that Shaun Livingston was back in action, while it's also important to note that Price had to deal with Damian Lillard all night. Price is still clinging to some fantasy value but that should dry up once John Wall is ready to debut after his knee injury.

Mon Nov 26 201222:27Price posts 11-5-7 line vs. Spurs
A.J. Price started at point guard and scored 11 points on Monday against the Spurs, hitting 4-of-8 shots (including a three) with five rebounds, seven assists, and one steal in 33 minutes.
Shaun Livingston was "banged up" according Randy Wittman, so Price may not be in the clear just yet. If you're thin at point guard and are willing to take a chance, Price has some upside if he can somehow fend off Livingston. John Wall still doesn't have a timetable for return.

Thu Nov 22 201201:23A.J. Price still produces off bench
A.J. Price came off the bench on Wednesday and had 14 points, three rebounds, seven assists and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes against the Hawks.
The Price was correct on Wednesday and tonight was his second-best line of the year. His value is likely to trend down with Shaun Livingston (21 minutes and two points) eating into his playing time. Plus, John Wall (knee) will put Price's value to bed once he can come back.

Tue Nov 20 201201:01Price may have wandered into a timeshare
A.J. Price scored eight points on 2-of-8 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds, zero assists, and one steal over 24 minutes in the Wizards' 96-89 loss to the Pacers on Monday.
Price may have wandered into a timeshare with Shaun Livingston (10 points, four assists, 24 minutes), though owners may want to see how things go down in Wednesday's game before they cut him. We wouldn't do it at the expense of a better-than-average free agent, though. Jordan Crawford also struggled on Monday, hitting 2-of-12 shots (0-of-4 3PTs, 7-of-7 FTs) for 11 points.

Fri Nov 16 201213:25A.J. Price says ankle fine after practicing
A.J. Price (ankle) practiced Friday and believes the injury will hold up OK.
Price left Wednesday's game with the injury but was reportedly available to return to the game. No official word on his status for Saturday, but we'll let you know as soon as we know more.

Thu Nov 15 201207:41Price (ankle) was available to return on Wed
A.J. Price (ankle) was available to return after leaving Wednesday's game against the Mavs.
We'd like to see more detail in the report, especially after Price was helped off the floor, but writer Mike Prada knows his way around the Wizards scene and we're confident this is what the team told him. This puts a dent in the short-term fantasy prospects of Jordan Crawford, and to a lesser degree Bradley Beal. A waiver wire add of Crawford based on the chance he plays PG and breaks out is essentially a vote to say the Wizards were misreporting Price's availability.

Wed Nov 14 201221:58A.J. Price taken to locker room w/ ankle
A.J. Price was helped to the Wizards locker room after spraining his ankle.
This doesn't sound great and Jordan Crawford is now running the point for the Wizards. If Price is going to miss time, Crawford will be worth grabbing in most leagues, while Shelvin Mack would also see a boost in minutes.

Sat Nov 10 201221:27A.J. Price double-doubles w/ 12 pts, 14 ast
A.J. Price double-doubled in another start on Saturday, scoring 12 points and handing out a career-high 14 assists, without turning the ball over in 37 minutes.
Price drained two 3-pointers and chipped in three rebounds as he continues to settle into the starting PG job while John Wall (knee) rests for at least a few more weeks. If you're in need of 3-pointers and assists, Price is a nice short-term pickup.

Fri Nov 9 201223:47Price puts up numbers against the Bucks
A.J. Price scored 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds, and nine assists in the Wizards' 101-91 loss to the Bucks on Friday.
Price has been productive for two games in a row now and should be owned in all formats until John Wall (knee) returns in the next few weeks.

Wed Nov 7 201223:18A.J. Price plays well against Rondo
A.J. Price had 15 points, five rebounds, seven assists, a steal, three 3-pointers and six turnovers in another start at point guard on Wednesday.
Price has been hit or miss while starting for John Wall, but should continue to start for several more games. If you can figure out which nights to start him on, he has some value, but it's akin to playing the lottery.

Tue Oct 30 201221:38A.J. Price struggles in start for Wiz
A.J. Price started at point guard and played 29 minutes, but hit just 2-of-13 shots for seven points and six assists.
Both of his makes were 3-pointers and the fact he shot it 13 times is encouraging, as were the 29 minutes. He should be locked in as the starter until John Wall is back, and while tonight's game was not great, he's still worth a deep-league look as long as he's getting minutes and shots.
