Mon Apr 11 201118:26Tracy McGrady likely shut down for season
Tracy McGrady will not be playing in Monday's game against Cleveland and is not expected to play in the season finale on Wednesday either.
At this point there isn't a reported injury or a designated reason...but we should be used to that from John Kuester's rotations by now.

Mon Apr 11 201100:35McGrady was simply benched Sunday?
The Associated Press suggests that Tracy McGrady did not suffer an injury Sunday despite playing just seven minutes.
It looks like we can chalk this up to the latest episode of John Kuester messing with his rotation. The bottom line is that we can't trust McGrady at this point and Rodney Stuckey is headed for more major minutes. Stuckey -- not McGrady -- started the second half Sunday.

Sun Apr 10 201120:54McGrady hurt in Sunday's loss?
Tracy McGrady played just seven minutes in Sunday's win over the Bobcats.
McGrady did not play at all in the second half, and we suspect it has to do with his balky knees or back. No word yet from the Pistons, but owners should not be chasing T-Mac at this point in the season.

Fri Apr 8 201123:54T-Mac starts, doesn't score for Pistons
Tracy McGrady started for the Pistons on Friday after missing Wednesday's game for a coach's decision (or tired legs) and failed to score in just 14 minutes.
Why Rodney Stuckey is not finishing out the season as the starter makes no sense, as T-Mac is obviously done. John Kuester is obviously trying to anger/annoy/confuse as many people as he can before he is let go in Detroit.

Fri Apr 8 201118:34Tracy McGrady to start at PG on Friday
Tracy McGrady will start at point guard for the Pistons on Friday.
T-Mac was a DNP-CD on Wednesday and there's no telling what John Kuester will do next. If you own McGrady go ahead and start him, but he recently tweaked his right wrist and we're none too confident about his role on a nightly basis.

Wed Apr 6 201123:18McGrady a DNP-CD on Wednesday
Tracy McGrady did not play on Wednesday due to coach's decision.
It's particularly telling because Will Bynum suffered a calf injury and did not play in the second half, and for fantasy purposes, unless there's a report that he's starting -- there's no way he should be near your lineup.

Tue Apr 5 201123:02McGrady tweaks wrist during nice outing
Tracy McGrady scored 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting (no threes) with five rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one block in 29 minutes off the bench on Tuesday.
He tweaked his right wrist and had to leave the game after shooting two free throws left-handed, but returned to start the second half and finish the game. Obviously, aside from the injury, he is subject to the whims of John Kuester and is only for the Lloyd Christmas crowd out there.

Sun Apr 3 201120:48McGrady returns for just 17 minutes
Tracy McGrady returned from a back injury Sunday and scored two points in 17 minutes.
McGrady came off the bench behind Will Bynum and was not aggressive at all. He took just one shot and recorded just two assists. Predicting John Kuester's rotation is impossible, so we'd leave T-Mac on waivers for now. If he starts any of the final games, owners can make their move then.

Fri Apr 1 201118:20T-Mac out w/ sore back, Bynum starts at PG
Tracy McGrady will not play on Friday due to his sore back, thrusting Will Bynum into the starting lineup.
Bynum is an intriguing pick-and-play, as he usually plays very well (at least offensively) when given enough minutes. Rodney Stuckey has been playing well despite T-Mac lately and was actually given the option to start, but decided to keep his reserve role. T-Mac has been hurting for a while now and it wouldn't be shocking if the veteran is shut down in the near future, so don't sleep on Detroit's backcourt.

Thu Mar 31 201102:52T-Mac plays just 12 minutes with sore back
Tracy McGrady, who was iffy coming into Wednesday after missing time with a back injury, returned but lasted just 12 minutes for two points and zero assists.
Rodney Stuckey had a big line and looks like a much better option than T-Mac down the stretch. Then again, so do most of the free agents on your league's waiver wire.

Mon Mar 28 201112:29McGrady, Wilcox both participants in practice
Tracy McGrady (back) and Chris Wilcox (knee) were both participants in team practice on Monday.
Their next game is Wednesday and both stand a good chance to play though neither are particularly appealing options.

Sat Mar 26 201118:19T-Mac (back) hoping to return on Wednesday
Tracy McGrady's back has improved and he expects to play Wednesday at Indiana.
T-Mac won't play on Saturday, in other words, after which Detroit doesn't play until they face the Pacers. T-Mac has been reasonably durable and effective this season, but we don't recommend picking him up.

Sat Mar 26 201102:04McGrady held to two points in 21 minutes
Tracy McGrady started again at PG and was held to two points on 1-of-5 shooting with one rebound, three assists, and two steals in 21 minutes on Friday.
While starting and flashing occasional value, it is long past the time in which he should have been dropped in most formats. Aside from being a question mark from day to day, the production simply isn't there.

Sun Mar 20 201117:10McGrady held to four points, 25% shooting
Tracy McGrady was held to four points and shot 25% from the floor on Sunday against the Hawks.
It remains to be seen what the Pistons intend to do with McGrady swinging him from point guard to power forward and everything in between. The Pistons rotation is a mess and we wouldn't blame anyone who decided to stay away from it altogether.

Wed Mar 16 201122:48T-Mac quiet in start at point guard
Tracy McGrady was back at point guard on Wednesday, but hit just 3-of-7 shots for seven points, one rebound, four assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 30 minutes.
T-Mac filled the stat sheet tonight, while Rodney Stuckey came off the bench and handed out a career-high 14 assists while on a shooting strike. T-Mac is worth owning as long as he's starting, but John Kuester changes his starting lineup like you change underwear.

Wed Mar 16 201111:39T-Mac to start at the four again?
The Detroit News says that Tracy McGrady could start at power forward again against the Raptors Wednesday.
We're not sure why anyone is bothering to project Pistons' lineups/rotations, but at least McGrady could match up with Ed Davis or Andrea Bargnani. Regardless, we wouldn't trust a single Pistons player to log 30 minutes tonight.

Sun Mar 13 201103:28McGrady starts again on Saturday vs. Nuggets
Tracy McGrady drew a start in a what could arguably be called a four-wing plus Greg Monroe lineup that was fielded against the Nuggets on Saturday, and played 22 minutes on his way to eight points on 4-of-10 shooting (no threes) with five rebounds, five assists, and one steal.
He had 11 points, nine rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a three in Friday's start, and there's some real opportunity to grab a player that many owners can't afford to take a risk on. He is exactly that -- a risk -- but if you need an impact player in desperate times, there's enough upside here to make a dent.

Fri Mar 11 201112:31T-Mac will again start over Stuckey at PG
Tracy McGrady will again start at PG for the Pistons on Friday, while Rodney Stuckey comes off the bench.
T-Mac nearly triple-doubled on Wednesday (after five DNPs) and appears to have regained coach John Kuester's trust and good will. Who knows how long this will keep up, but you might as well plug him into your lineups while he's hot.

Thu Mar 10 201111:11Kuester has high praise for T-Mac
Coach John Kuester had high praise for Tracy McGrady following Wednesday's loss to the Spurs.
After five straight DNP-CDs, McGrady started Wednesday and racked up 15 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. "I thought Tracy was outstanding [last night], his leadership and ability to control the game," Kuester said. It sounds like T-Mac is headed for another start ahead of Rodney Stuckey Friday, but nothing is certain with Kuester.
