Tue Nov 26 201320:41Shelvin Mack suffers ankle sprain
Shelvin Mack suffered a left ankle sprain in the first half of Tuesday's game and is questionable to return.
He had leapfrogged rookie Dennis Schroder and was backing up Jeff Teague before the injury. Teague will handle most of the point guard duties and it should be interesting to see if Schroder gets some playing time tonight.

Thu Nov 21 201310:53Shelvin Mack stepping into backup PG role
Shelvin Mack has been the first point guard off the bench in the Hawks' last three games.
With Dennis Schr”der apparently falling out of favor with two DNP-CD's in his last three games, Shelvin Mack seems to have assumed the backup point guard role behind Jeff Teague. Coach Mike Budenholzer was non-committal in his remarks, but did shower praise on the Butler alum, "I think that Shelvin has played well, obviously the last couple games but also earlier when he's had opportunities." Even though Mack has averaged 22 minutes per game over his last three contests, his stats still don't justify a pickup in anything but the deepest fantasy leagues just yet.

Thu Nov 7 201316:35Shelvin Mack to play backup PG on Thursday
Shelvin Mack will assume backup PG duties with Dennis Schr”der suspended for Thursday's game.
"[Jeff Teague] has been playing pretty big minutes," said coach Mike Budenholzer. "Could he play a couple more? Sure ... [But we] feel good about Shelvin and feel good about our group. I don't think I want to run Jeff into the ground this early in the season." Teague is averaging a career-high 34 minutes through four games, which is a nice sustainable number for fantasy purposes.

Sun Aug 4 201309:35Olimpia Milano interested in PG Shelvin Mack
The Hawks may waive PG Shelvin Mack, whose 2013-14 contract is fully unguaranteed, and he's already drawing interest from Olimpia Milano.
Atlanta could decide to keep Mack as a third PG but he'd be unlikely to earn many minutes with Jeff Teague and rookie Dennis Schroeder in uniform. He averaged 4.6 points and 2.2 assists in 31 appearances with the Wizards, Sixers and Hawks last year, while shooting a career-best 36.7 percent from downtown.

Fri Mar 29 201322:46Mack goes for 12 and nine off the bench
Shelvin Mack scored 12 points with nine assists in 27 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Mack added three rebounds, a steal and a trey on 5-of-9 shooting, as Larry Drew ran with the second unit late in a close game yet again. Mack is somebody to watch on a Hawks team with depth issues, but adding him based on one good game isn't advisable yet.

Fri Mar 15 201318:12Report: 'Good chance' Hawks keep Shelvin Mack
There is a "good chance" the Hawks will sign Shelvin Mack to a second 10-day contract, reports Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Mack's original 10-day deal is set to expire Sunday. It makes sense the Hawks will keep him in the fold considering how banged up Atlanta is in the backcourt. Mack has averaged 2.0 points, 1.0 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game in four appearances with the Hawks.

Fri Dec 28 201223:01Mack scores four points in start at PG
Shelvin Mack (groin) started at point guard on Friday against the Magic, scoring four points on 2-of-7 shooting with two rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes.
Mack did not start the second half and by the minute total it's possible he aggravated his injury, so we'll be keeping an eye out for reports. Garrett Temple played 35 minutes and scored 13 points with six rebounds, six assists, and two steals, and took over the top spot in the position battle tonight.

Fri Dec 28 201217:48Shelvin Mack set to start again Friday night
Shelvin Mack (groin) is good to go and will start Friday night against the Magic.
Randy Wittman said he's sticking with Mack as the starter because he liked what saw from Jordan Crawford off the bench Wednesday. For what it's worth, Crawford still managed to score 17 points in 27 minutes. It appears that Mack is the starting PG for the time being, although we'd still advise more patience before nabbing him in all but the deepest leagues.
