Thu Dec 27 201214:37Shelvin Mack goes through full practice
Shelvin Mack practiced fully Thursday despite suffering a groin injury at the end of Wednesday's game against the Cavs.
There were no complications and it appeared the injury was as minor as they come. Mack had six points, six rebounds, seven assists and two 3-pointers as a starter Wednesday, while Jordan Crawford came off the bench to score 17 points in 27 minutes. We're still not certain who will start at PG against the Magic on Friday, but it bears watching, particularly for Crawford owners. We'll let you know as soon as we hear more.

Wed Dec 26 201222:31Shelvin Mack starts in first game of season
Newly acquired point guard Shelvin Mack started Wednesday, in part due to a disciplinary benching for Jordan Crawford, and had six points, six rebounds, seven assists, a steal and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
It remains to be seen if Crawford will return to the starting lineup in the next one, but he still came through with 17 points off the bench in 27 minutes. Mack is worth keeping an eye on in all leagues, and might be worth a deep-league pickup, but we'll have to see how much he plays over the next week before fully analyzing his potential fantasy value. He also suffered some sort of leg injury during the game, but it didn't appear to be serious.

Wed Dec 26 201221:11Shelvin Mack leaves game with leg injury
Shelvin Mack left Wednesday's game in the fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury.
It didn't look serious, but he called for the trainer while the Cleveland was bringing the ball up the court. He was playing well, but now newly-signed Garrett Temple will get his shot. Mack could have been an intriguing pickup in deeper leagues and we'll update his status once the information is available.

Wed Dec 26 201217:47Wizards will start Shelvin Mack at PG
The Wizards will start Shelvin Mack on Wednesday after signing the PG on Tuesday.
Mack is starting in place of Jordan Crawford, who is coming off the bench Wednesday for violating a team rule. Randy Wittman has said Mack, along with recently signed Garrett Temple, will play "significant roles" for the severely banged-up Wizards. Keep an eye on Mack in case he holds onto the starting job, but don't go adding him just yet.

Wed Dec 26 201210:41Mack, Temple to play 'significant roles'
Shelvin Mack and Garrett Temple, who were just signed on Tuesday, are expected to play "significant roles."
Both players were brought in to provide help at point guard, and Randy Wittman is likely to go with his 11th different starting lineup on Wednesday. Each guy practiced with the team already, and Randy Wittman said "we're going to throw them to the wolves right away, see what they can handle, what they can do." Mack is expected to have the "initial advantage" ahead of Temple.

Wed Dec 26 201207:43Wizards sign G Shelvin Mack, Garrett Temple
Wizards sign G Shelvin Mack and G Garrett Temple.
Both players were expected to be signed, but the Wizards made it official on Tuesday. Each will look to bring some help at the point guard position, where the production has been putrid without John Wall on the court.

Sun Dec 23 201210:46Wizards sign Shelvin Mack out of D-League
The Wizards will sign Shelvin Mack out of the D-League on Sunday.
Washington waived two players, including Shaun Livingston, to clear room for PGs who can relieve Jordan Crawford of some playmaking duties. Mack has been thriving in the D-League, averaging 19.7 points, 2.2 threes, 5.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 41 minutes per game with the Maine Red Claws. He could step into a sizeable role right away, and he's at least worth keeping an eye on while John Wall (knee) and A.J. Price (hand) are on the mend.

Sun Oct 28 201219:54Wizards waive Shelvin Mack
Wizards waive G Shelvin Mack.
A.J. Price locked down the starting PG job (in John Wall's absence) with a strong preseason, and the Wizards obviously prefer Jannero Pargo as their third PG.

Wed May 16 201209:03Shelvin Mack to work on his shooting
Shelvin Mack plans to work on improving his shooting during the offseason.
"The statistics aren't very good," he said. Mack averaged just 3.6 points on 40 percent shooting during his rookie season, and he'll look to improve on both of those marks moving forward. We expect the Wizards to target a veteran point guard who can help Mack develop while also serving as a mentor.

Wed Feb 1 201222:24Shelvin Mack scores career-high 12 points
Rookie guard Shelvin Mack played just 16 minutes but had a career-high 12 points with four assists and two 3-pointers in Wednesday's loss.
John Wall couldn't get going in this one, but Mack's minutes were still limited. He looked good tonight, but should be left on waivers in most fantasy leagues for now.

Thu Dec 15 201108:45Shelden Mack needs to improve his shooting
Flip Saunders said that rookie Shelvin Mack needs to improve his shooting.
This is not a surprise, as Mack was known to have some concerns in that area. He is a good defender and can backup both guard positions, but Mack should serve as John Wall's primary backup at point guard this year.
