Sat Feb 22 201400:32Shelvin Mack scores career-high 21 points
Shelvin Mack scored a career-high 21 points against the Pistons on Friday with four boards, six assists and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes.
For those wanting to make a case on Mack playing better than Jeff Teague (ankle) over the past couple months, this would likely be exhibit A. He was terrific at getting in the lane and breaking down the defense. The Hawks still owe a lot of money to Teague, so Mack will be pushed back to the bench once Teague's ankle heals. JT has a decent chance to play on Saturday vs. the Knicks.

Fri Feb 21 201419:16Shelvin Mack will start on Friday night
Shelvin Mack will start against the Pistons on Friday night.
It'll be his third start of the season and his first two games weren't his best games, averaging 12.0 points, 5.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.0 triples. Those are still solid numbers and he's worth starting in most formats. Jeff Teague is only day-to-day.

Wed Feb 19 201422:30Shelvin Mack scores six points in 17 minutes
Shelvin Mack played 17 minutes and had six points, two rebounds and three assists in Wednesday's loss.
The news here is Jeff Teague turned an ankle late in the game and could miss time. If it happens, Mack will be the guy to pick up, and he had 11 points, six rebounds, eight assists, a steal and a 3-pointer on Tuesday - when Teague was healthy and playing.

Tue Feb 18 201422:04Shelvin Mack fills stat sheet off bench
Shelvin Mack hit 5-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer for 11 points, six rebounds, eight assists and a steal in 26 minutes off the Hawks bench on Tuesday.
He easily outplayed starter Jeff Teague, which isn't all that hard to do right now. While Teague's struggles are a big concern for his owners and the Hawks, it's also hard to imagine Mack becoming a regular fantasy player. Just keep an eye on him in case this becomes a trend, or in case Teague is traded out of Atlanta.

Fri Jan 31 201423:21Mack plays 12 minutes against the Sixers
Shelvin Mack played just 12 minutes in Friday's blowout win, scoring eight points on 4-of-6 shooting with four assists and a steal.
The line isn't bad for the minutes but owners in weekly leagues have to be feeling pretty screwed by the postponed game and now this unlucky outcome. Mack has low-end value in standard 12-team leagues as a standalone player and though Jeff Teague returned tonight, he has been playing well and the Hawks aren't exactly deep in the backcourt. Don't pass on a hot free agent but Mack is worth a look.

Mon Jan 27 201423:51Shelvin Mack scores 15 points in start
Shelvin Mack drew his second start of the season on Monday, scoring 15 points with four boards, seven assists and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes.
The Hawks have been on both ends of a blowout in the past two games, so tonight was the first time Mack saw a full complement of minutes. Jeff Teague (ankle) could miss Wednesday's game, which would make Mack worthy of starting in most formats against the Pistons.

Sun Jan 26 201400:00Shelvin Mack scores nine in start vs. Bucks
Shlevin Mack played 24 minutes in his first start of the season on Saturday, scoring nine points with one board, four assists, two steals and one 3-pointer.
The Hawks had this game in the bag in the middle of the third quarter, so Mack didn't need to in the fourth quarter for the second night in a row after the Hawks were blown out by San Antonio on Friday. Jeff Teague (ankle) won't play on Monday, so Mack should have a better game vs. OKC.

Sat Jan 25 201413:57Shelvin Mack starting w/ Teague (ankle) out
Shelvin Mack is listed as the Hawks' starting PG on Saturday.
Jeff Teague won't play on Saturday or Monday due to his sprained ankle, leaving Mack and backup Dennis Schroeder to handle the PG position. Lou Williams will also see an uptick in playmaking duties and Mack is worth a look if you need a short-term boost in scoring, 3-pointers and assists.

Fri Jan 24 201423:05Shelvin Mack plays 22 minutes in loss
Shelvin Mack played just 22 minutes in Friday's 105-79 loss to the Spurs, scoring four points with one board, three assists, one steal and one block.
He didn't play the last eight minutes of this game due the score being 90-61 at the time of his final departure in the fourth quarter. Mack has been used in several spots for the Hawks and he's likely going to pick up some extra minutes with Jeff Teague (ankle) out for at least two games. He's worth a look for any owner seeking a high-upside point guard.

Mon Jan 20 201423:22Shelvin Mack plays well, scores 13 in win
Shelvin Mack took over the majority of point guard duties on Monday with 13 points, three rebounds, seven assists and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.
Jeff Teague had a tough night against the Heat and is in a slump, which allowed some extra minutes for Mack. The Hawks are still going to give Teague plenty of leash, so Mack is only a deep-league pickup. For what it's worth, he is playing better than almost anyone expected.

Thu Jan 16 201417:34Shelvin Mack solid in 21 minutes vs. Brooklyn
Shelvin Mack was a bright spot on an otherwise dreary evening in London for the Hawks, as he came off the bench for 17 points, three 3-pointers, seven assists and two steals.
Mack's steady contributions have been a theme in recent weeks, but he only played 22 minutes vs. Brooklyn and will need increased minutes to have reliable fantasy value.

Sat Jan 4 201401:04Mack scores 15 points with four assists
Shelvin Mack scored 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting (including a three) with zero rebounds, four assists and three steals in 26 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Mack has now played at a late round level over the last two weeks, averaging 8.7 points, 1.3 treys, 3.7 boards, 4.8 assists, 1.7 steals and he has done that despite hitting just 36 percent of his shots. The bottom line is that he has played well as a reserve for the Hawks and Mike Budenholzer appears to trust him, and owners in standard leagues should give him a hard look as a solid, but not spectacular end-of-the-bench guy.

Sun Dec 29 201321:02Shelvin Mack gets hot off Hawks' bench
Shelvin Mack got hot late on Sunday, finishing with 14 points, four 3-pointers, four rebounds, three assists and two steals, but it wasn't enough for the short-handed Hawks to earn a win in Orlando.
In the Hawks' past three contests he's averaging 9.3 points, 2.0 triples, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 steals. The backcourt rotation will tighten up once DeMarre Carroll (thumb) returns to action, but fantasy owners should keep an eye on Mack in case his role continues to grow.

Thu Dec 26 201323:02Shelvin Mack plays 36 mins., post solid line
Shelvin Mack played 36 minutes against the Cavs on Thursday with 10 points, seven boards, five assists, three steals and one 3-pointer on 3-of-9 shooting.
He checked in after DeMarre Carroll's thumb injury and only checked out for one possession in the double-overtime win. Mack has been used at shooting guard before and he looks to be a short-term fix for the Hawks while Carroll is out. He can shoot the three and has a respectable 46 percent from the field this year, so he's worth a look in deep leagues on a speculative basis.

Sat Dec 14 201323:12Shelvin Mack plays well in relief of Teague
Shelvin Mack hit 4-of-5 shots and two 3-pointers for 10 points, five rebounds and two assists in Saturday's loss to the Knicks.
He played 20 minutes and helped make up for Friday's 1-of-9 shooting performance, while Jeff Teague watched from the bench for much of the second half. Teague is still clearly the starting point guard in Atlanta, but Mack is his primary back up and is playing well. Mack is averaging 9.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.0 3-pointers over his last five games, meaning owners in very deep leagues need to put him on the radar.

Wed Dec 11 201300:42Shelvin Mack scores career-high 17
Shelvin Mack hit 7-of-9 shots and three 3-pointers for a career-high 17 points and six assists in Tuesday's loss to the Thunder.
He caught fire late and helped lead a late Hawks charge, but it wasn't enough as the Thunder held them off. Mack's been playing well as the backup point guard, but unless you're in a 20-team league or deeper, there's no reason to pick him up.

Sat Nov 30 201302:00Mack (ankle) returns to action on Friday
Shelvin Mack (ankle) returned to action on Friday, scoring three points with one rebound and one steal in 21 minutes.
Even when playing significant minutes he is not going to produce with Jeff Teague and Lou Williams around to handle the rock. Mack can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

Fri Nov 29 201312:13Shelvin Mack active Friday vs. Mavs
Shelvin Mack will return to action Friday versus the Mavs.
Shelvin will serve as Jeff Teague's primary backup, but doesn't offer much value in his reserve role. Leave him on the wire.

Wed Nov 27 201313:42Shelvin Mack out Wed. w/ sprained ankle
Shelvin Mack won't play on Wednesday after spraining his ankle during Tuesday's game.
He will stay in Atlanta while the team travels, as will Kyle Korver (ribs) and Lou Williams (knee), which leaves Jeff Teague and Shelvin Mack as the team's only active PGs. He is day-to-day and could return as soon as Friday's game vs. Dallas.
