Greg Smith injured his right pinkie during Wednesday's game against the Hornets.
It didn't look good at all and there's a very good chance he tore ligaments or even broke one of his fingers. He was just getting back into the rotation after suffering a foot injury earlier this year.

Smith just returned from a foot injury and could stick in the rotation ahead of Cole Aldrich. He's proving to be a more than serviceable backup center for the Rockets, but he's strictly hands-off in fantasy leagues.

He will not return. It looked like he turned it pretty bad, so this may cause him to miss time. Houston is already extremely thin at power forward and center with Patrick Patterson also banged up. Omer Asik is going to have to play big minutes.

Rockets rookie center Greg Smith had two points, three rebounds and four blocks in his debut on Sunday, though he also racked up five personal fouls in 12 minutes.
"We always need physical play, and that's what Greg brings," said Kevin McHale. "He'll body up bigs, he'll rebound, he's quick off his feet, and he's got good hands. Greg is just real young." It sounds like Houston is ready to make him part of the rotation, which is more bad news for Sameul Dalembert.
