Wed Jan 1 201423:39Tony Wroten quiet in win over Nuggets
Tony Wroten had just seven points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes of Wednesday's win over Denver.
Wroten scored 22 points on Saturday when Evan Turner was out, but has scored just seven or eight points in three of his last four games. He's still getting decent minutes, but as long as Michael Carter-Williams and Turner are healthy, Wroten won't be consistent enough to start in fantasy. MCW had 16 points, nine rebounds and six dimes tonight, while Turner came through with 23 points and a full stat line in the win.

Sun Dec 29 201302:00Tony Wroten scores 22 off Sixers bench
Tony Wroten played 30 minutes off the bench and hit 7-of-17 shots and two 3-pointers on his way to 22 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals Saturday.
Evan Turner was out with a sore knee, so Wroten saw some extra minutes. Despite coming off the bench, Wroten is still averaging 16.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 3-pointers over his last five games, making him worth a look in most leagues.

Sat Dec 21 201323:59Tony Wroten scored just eight points
Tony Wroten cooled off against the Bucks on Saturday with eight points, five boards, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 20 minutes.
His 19-point game on Friday was a bit of a shock because he's more or less going to serve as a backup point guard. Wroten hasn't been playing with Michael Carter-Williams much, so it'll be tough for him to really flourish unless coach Brett Brown comes around and cuts down minutes for James Anderson and Hollis Thompson. Standard league owners should be able to do better than Wroten at this point.

Sat Dec 21 201302:09Tony Wroten scores 19 points off the bench
Tony Wroten scored 19 points off the bench on Friday with three boards, three assists and two 3-pointers on 8-of-17 shooting.
He and Michael Carter-Williams didn't see the court together until the third quarter, but Wroten was still able to pick up 24 minutes in the win. He attempted eight shots from downtown and could be able to sneak some low-end value in standard leagues despite his deficiencies in percentages. To be clear, his owners should not be expecting Friday's production on a regular basis.

Fri Dec 20 201317:31Tony Wroten will come off the bench
Tony Wroten will come off the bench on Friday.
With Michael Carter-Williams back in the lineup, Wroten's role is a little unclear. Coach Brett Brown said he will bring Wroten off the bench "sooner than later," but the two haven't been a successful tandem to date. The former Memphis player will take a big hit, so it's not a bad idea to cut him for a hot free agent. His value shouldn't completely fall apart, though.

Tue Dec 17 201311:27Tony Wroten issued warning for flopping
Tony Wroten has been issued a warning for flopping in a game vs. the Raptors.
Wroten pulled up for an uncontested 3-point shot, and then fell to the ground. He certainly deserved the warning, and next time he will be fined. Check out the link below if you'd like to see the flop for yourself.

Sun Dec 15 201323:5676ers coach envisions MCW/Wroten backcourt
76ers coach Brett Brown envisions a backcourt featuring Michael Carter-Williams at PG and Tony Wroten at SG.
"A couple games ago, Coach [Brown] came and brought me and Mike together and told us we needed to figure out how we're going to do playing together, because that's what he wants to do," Wroten said. "Brett's not saying we're both going to start, but he's just saying to keep it in mind and talk it over." Brown is somewhat concerned that Wroten's focus will wander once the ball isn't in his hands on every offensive possession, but the prospect of a shared backcourt is a clear-cut victory for Wroten's rest-of-season outlook.

Sun Dec 15 201301:34Wroten continues to put up explosive lines
Tony Wroten put up another explosive line in just 24 minutes of action, scoring 18 points on 5-of-15 shooting (2-of-4 3PTs, 6-of-10 FTs) with six rebounds, seven assists and a block in Saturday's blowout loss to the Blazers.
Wroten can't seem to do anything half speed, as he's going to put up big numbers in the Sixers' jackpot system and at the same time put big dents into owners' shooting percentages. He's worth owning while Michael Carter-Williams (knee) is out with a day-to-day injury that may have been better classified as week-to-week when it first showed its face about two weeks ago.

Fri Dec 13 201322:17Tony Wroten stays hot as MCW sits again
Tony Wroten hit 8-of-17 shots and five 3-pointers for 23 points, three rebounds, five assists and a steal in Friday's loss.
Michael Carter-Williams missed another game with his knee infection tonight and any time MCW is out, Wroten becomes a must-start player. More assists would have been nice, but we doubt his owners are complaining about this line.

Thu Dec 12 201300:20Tony Wroten rebounds in loss to Wolves
Tony Wroten shot 8-of-13 from the field for 20 points with three rebounds, four assists, one steal, one lock and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.
He fouled out in this game and the foul trouble kept his minutes down tonight. Michael Carter-Williams (knee) should be back soon, but Wroten is worth starting in all leagues even with his sub-par 56 percent shooting from the free throw line as long as he's starting. His value will take a big hit once MCW is back, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Mon Dec 9 201322:55Tony Wroten flirts with triple-double again
Tony Wroten flirted with a triple-double again on Monday vs. the Clippers with nine points, 10 boards, seven assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes.
He shot just 2-of-12 from the field in what turned out to be his worst start of the season. Chris Paul has shut down players a lot better than Wroten, so this isn't a surprise. Michael-Carter Williams (knee) wasn't ruled out until just a couple hours before the game, so there's a chance that the rookie can return to the lineup on Wednesday. Wroten should remain owned in all leagues until Carter-Williams can show he's back to 100 percent health.

Sat Dec 7 201321:45Tony Wroten does it again w/ 20 pts in loss
Tony Wroten made another start at PG on Saturday, scoring 20 points with five rebounds, one assist and one block, while making 10-of-20 field goals in 33 minutes.
Philly's fantastic fill-in continues to impress, and has become an automatic start whenever Michael Carter-Williams misses games -- MCW was out again tonight due to a bacterial infection in the skin of his right knee, but he's considered day-to-day. Keep an eye on the Sixers' injury report for Monday's home game vs. the Clippers.

Fri Dec 6 201322:43Tony Wroten flirts with triple-double in loss
Tony Wroten flirted with a triple-double against the Bobcats on Friday with 21 points, eight boards, nine assists, one steal, one block and two turnovers in 35 minutes.
He shot 10-of-22 from the field and was blowing by Kemba Walker most of the night for some easy buckets at the rim. Wroten entered tonight with terrific numbers as a starter this season, averaging 19.5 points, 4.0 boards, 5.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.5 triples in four games. Michael Carter-Williams is unlikely for Saturday, so Wroten makes for a great spot start vs. Denver on Saturday.

Fri Dec 6 201317:46Sixers exploring the Wroten-MCW backcourt
Coach Brett Brown said he will try to identify if Michael Carter-Williams and Tony Wroten can play alongside each other.
Since Carter-Williams returned from his foot injury on Nov. 20, Wroten has played in just 87 due to partially to a lower back strain. Of those 87 minutes, 31 minutes have been next to Michael Carter-Williams. When the two are on the court together in that aforementioned span, the Sixers allowed 51.6 percent from the field to their opponents compared to 48.3 percent when Wroten is on the bench. On offense, they are worse with Wroten at 41.8 percent vs. 45.7 without him. It looks like the Wroten-MCW lineup might be in trouble on the surface, but there is more to the story than just shooting. In the meantime, Wroten is a nice spot start with Carter-Williams out with a knee injury.

Tue Dec 3 201323:22Tony Wroten falling off in Philly
Tony Wroten played just 13 minutes in a double-overtime win over the Magic, scoring two points with two boards and one assist.
The move of Hollis Thompson into the starting lineup has bumped James Anderson to the bench as the sixth man, which subsequently costs Wroten some minutes. He was barely holding value with some ugly shooting numbers, so owners in deeper leagues shouldn't be as enthusiastic about keeping Wroten on their rosters.

Fri Nov 29 201318:34Tony Wroten will play on Friday
Tony Wroten (back) will play against the Pelicans on Friday.
He missed two games with a lower back strain and it's unclear how many minutes he'll see with Michael Carter-Williams healthy at point guard. Coach Brett Brown did play Wroten at shooting guard while MCW was active last week, so he might be able to keep up some form of value in deep leagues. His ugly percentages do make him a bit of a liability, though.

Wed Nov 27 201312:08Tony Wroten (back) out again Wednesday
Tony Wroten (strained lower back) will not play on Wednesday.
He was expected to suit up but must have felt worse than anticipated during shootaround. His absence leaves copious minutes for Michael Carter-Williams, while Lorenzo Brown mops up reserve minutes.

Tue Nov 26 201313:50Tony Wroten (back) expected to play Wednesday
Tony Wroten (sore back) is expected to play on Wednesday.
Wroten had solid value while Michael Carter-Williams was injured, and he still played 28 minutes behind MCW last Wednesday. We'll keep an eye on him in the coming weeks, in case he sustains value in a backup role, though his poor shooting percentages do him no favors.

Mon Nov 25 201313:10Tony Wroten sits out of practice on Monday
Tony Wroten (strained lower back) did not practice on Monday.
He missed Saturday's game after suffering the injury in Friday's game. Even with Michael Carter-Williams back, Wroten played 28 minutes in Wednesday's game against the Raptors, so he'll still be in the rotation. Although, shooting 41.2 percent from the field and 56.6 percent from the line isn't going to help his case for fantasy value. If he can't play Wednesday, Elliot Williams and Lorenzo Brown could see some more playing time.
