Wed Jan 16 201313:10Alexey Shved sick, doesn't practice
Alexey Shved (illness) did not practice on Wednesday.
Shved should be ready to play on Thursday against the Clippers, but he'll be questionable until we get another update. If he's forced to sit out, Luke Ridnour and J.J. Barea would get more minutes at shooting guard.

Sun Jan 13 201321:26Alexey Shved's awful shooting continues
Alexey Shved disappeared vs. the Spurs, scoring just two points on 0-of-7 shooting, with five assists, two steals and one block.
His ability to contribute across the board helps keep him afloat in fantasy leagues, but his shooting percentage (39.5 percent, and even worse in January) remains a heavy burden in category leagues.

Thu Jan 10 201300:10Alexey Shved scored 18 points in 39 minutes
Alexey Shved shot 6-of-13 from the field for 18 points with one rebound, three assists, two steals, two 3-pointers and a career-high seven turnovers.
His turnovers have spiked lately with an average of 3.6 per game over his last eight contests. Shved's only other knock is that he's struggling connecting on field goals, making just 40 percent from the field on the season. On the other hand, he's doing enough for owners in the scoring, assist and 3-point departments to be owned in all leagues.

Wed Jan 9 201301:02Alexey Shved posts full stat line vs. Hawks
Alexey Shved played a whopping 42 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Hawks, finishing with 15 points, two rebounds, seven assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers on 6-of-15 shooting.
Shved's great rookie season continues, and he's averaging nearly 12 points, 3.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.2 3-pointers over his last five games, despite a 2-point performance on 1-of-11 shooting on Saturday. If he was dropped in your league, it looks like his job is safe, so think about picking him up if you have someone to cut.

Sat Jan 5 201323:21Alexey Shved shoots 1-of-11 in home defeat
Alexey Shved missed 10 of his 11 field goal attempts on Saturday, finishing with just two points in a five-point loss to the visiting Blazers.
The rookie did have three rebounds, seven assists and one block, and with a 40.7 percent shooting average his owners should be aware of the drag he'll have on FG percentage. He has plenty of upside with Kevin Love (hand) unavailable to jack up double-digit shots and Ricky Rubio (back) still working his way into game shape.

Thu Jan 3 201323:49Alexey Shved scores 17 points in 34 minutes
Alexey Shved shot 7-of-13 from the field and made both of his free throws for 17 points to go with four boards, five assists and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday.
His minutes have been holding steady at 34.1 per game in his 10 games prior to Thursday and he's taking 5.4 attempts from beyond the arc in his nine starts. Once Ricky Rubio (back, knee) gets healthy, Shved could lose some value, but we'd recommend sticking with him until he falls off.

Sat Dec 29 201222:57Alexey Shved posts 12 & 10 in four-point win
The Wolves pulled out a four-point win vs. the Suns on Saturday, aided by Alexey Shved's 12 points, four rebounds and 10 assists.
Shved picked up the slack with Ricky Rubio sidelined by back spasms, and he's been terrific over his past four games. Brandon Roy now seems like he may retire, and owners should just keep trotting Shved out there until he cools off.

Sun Dec 23 201219:59Alexey Shved has another nice all-around game
Alexey Shved started at SF for the short-handed Wolves on Sunday, where he scored 18 points with four 3-pointers, five rebounds, four assists, one steal and five turnovers.
Shved missed a potentially game-tying heave at the buzzer, but the Wolves were only within striking distance because of a clutch steal and 3-pointer he made moments earlier. His playmaking, range and basketball IQ have endeared him to coach Rick Adelman, and he's worth holding as we watch how his role changes with Ricky Rubio ramping up his minutes.

Thu Dec 20 201221:58Alexey Shved double-doubles on Thursday
Alexey Shved shot 5-of-10 from the field for 12 points with seven rebounds, 12 assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in against the Thunder on Thursday.
His 12 assists and seven rebounds were both career highs. He shot just 2-of-15 in his last two games on Monday and Tuesday and dropped his December field goal percentage to 38.9 percent before tonight, so he needed a nice game like this one. He's very likely to hold the starting shooting guard spot all year and owners should ride him until the wheels fall off.

Tue Dec 18 201223:32Alexey Shved struggles again in loss
Alexey Shved back up his 1-of-8 shooting night on Monday with 1-of-7 hits for two points, seven assists and three turnovers in Tuesday's loss to the Heat.
He had his hands full with J.J. Redick on Monday and Dwyane Wade on Tuesday, so things will hopefully turn around for him on Thursday against the Thunder, where he won't be subjected to James Harden. Shved is starting at shooting guard and could stay there for the rest of the season, although the fact he's hit 2-of-15 shots over his last two games is a serious concern. Bench him if you have options.

Mon Dec 17 201221:36Shved has an off night on Monday
Alexey Shved shot 1-of-8 from the field for three points with five assists and one 3-pointer against the Magic on Monday.
Shved has been a nice asset in fantasy leagues due to his 2.0 triples and 1.5 steals in 31.8 minutes per game over his last six contests. Ricky Rubio's return isn't going to help Shved, but we still like his upside enough to give him some leash in most cases.

Sat Dec 15 201223:35Shved scores 18 pts in Wolves' victory
The Wolves knocked off the Mavericks in OT on Saturday, as Alexey Shved scored 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting, with three 3-pointers, six assists and two steals in 44 minutes.
Shved is returning 13th round value this season, which has dipped to the 14th round in the past two weeks. He got a boost tonight due to the absence of Josh Howard (knee), Malcolm Lee (knee) and Brandon Roy (knee), not to mention Kevin Love's absence due to illness and Ricky Rubio's strict playing-time limit. It's worth noting that he jumps to ninth-round value if you punt his awful FT shooting (54 percent), but his season-long value is shaky.

Sat Dec 15 201203:26Shved scores 13 points with eight assists
Alexey Shved started at shooting guard in Friday's win over the Hornets, scoring 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting (including three treys) with two rebounds, eight assists, and two steals in 35 minutes.
The Wolves are banged up right now with knee injuries hitting both Malcolm Lee and Josh Howard, but they will see Ricky Rubio return as soon as Saturday and eventually Brandon Roy 'might' get on the court. All of this said, we love Shved's upside and he could easily have the inside track on starter's minutes next to Luke Ridnour and J.J. Barea. At a minimum, he is the healthiest of an injury-prone bunch and has the skill to do damage in fantasy leagues.

Fri Dec 14 201213:37Alexey Shved will start at SG on Friday
Alexey Shved will start at shooting guard on Friday against the Hornets.
Malcolm Lee (knee) didn't make the road trip, and after Shved started the second half of the previous game, he'll get the nod from the get go on Friday. He hasn't started a game yet this season, but e's averaging 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 3-pointers in four December games, so there's definite upside here. Josh Howard (illness) will play and come off the bench.

Thu Dec 13 201202:38Alexey Shved starts second half for Wolves
Alexey Shved replaced Malcolm Lee in the starting unit for the second half on Wednesday's win, finishing with eight points, two rebounds, five assists and two steals on 3-of-10 shooting in 31 minutes.
Keep an eye on him in case he moves into the first unit going forward. If he doesn't, he'll take another hit once Brandon Roy and Ricky Rubio return to the mix, which could happen this weekend.

Sat Dec 8 201201:22Shved posts very low-end line vs. Cavs
Alexey Shved hit 3-of-8 shots (no threes) for seven points on Friday against the Cavs, and also added four rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 24 minutes.
It was a messy game for Shved, who also had five turnovers in the Wolves' blowout win. We're most excited about Shved's long-term prospects this season, and so far he has been more than serviceable up until tonight. Owners should hold in most formats until it's clear he has morphed into a stash only.

Tue Dec 4 201222:42Alexey Shved scores 17 points again
Alexey Shved came off the bench and caught fire for the Wolves on Tuesday, hitting 5-of-8 shots and four 3-pointers for 17 points, three rebounds, four assists and a block in 29 minutes.
Shved is averaging nearly 17 points and four 3-pointers over his last three games, and while he will take a hit once Andrei Kirilenko and Ricky Rubio are back in action, he is carving out a niche for himself in the rotation. And it would not be at all surprising to see him stay relevant, with Luke Ridnour taking the hit, once Rubio returns to action.

Tue Dec 4 201209:15Alexey Shved won't be moving to starting five
Alexey Shved will not be moved into the starting lineup because Rick Adelman likes his presence off the bench.
"He's a guy we really rely on off the bench," Adelman said. The coach went on to praise Shved's abilities when he's got the ball in his hands, but the real news here is that he'll continue to come off the bench right now. He's played over 30 minutes in each of his last two games, averaging 16.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.5 treys over that span.

Sat Dec 1 201200:57Shved scores 16 points with four triples
Alexey Shved scored 16 points and hit a career-high four 3-point shots in Friday's win over the Bucks, and also added three rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 32 minutes off the bench.
Shved hit 5-of-9 shots on the night and benefited from Andrei Kirilenko's (back) absence, but it's clear he can play and that the Wolves love his talent. Things are going to get tight when Ricky Rubio returns soon, but he's well worth a stash in standard formats for the forward-looking owner.
