Wed Nov 12 201413:23Shved missed practice again Wednesday with lower-back soreness
Shved missed practice again Wednesday with lower-back soreness, the Bucks County Courier Times' Tom Moore reports.
He has now sat out practice the past two days with the ailing back, and should be considered questionable for Thursday's game.
Tue Nov 11 201414:23Shved missed Tuesday's practice due to lower-back soreness
Shved missed Tuesday's practice due to lower-back soreness, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The severity of the soreness is unknown at this time, so consider Shved questionable for Thursday's matchup with the Mavericks. The third-year guard is averaging 9.7 points per game this season but is shooting only 33.3 percent from the floor.

Shved scored 18 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3P, 5-6 FT) with five assists and three rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 103-91 loss to the Pacers.
He led the Sixers' bench in minutes, and Shved could continue to see enough minutes as the club's third guard to be a useful fantasy asset even after Michael Carter-Williams (shoulder) gets back in the lineup.

Shved is now the unrivaled 3rd string point guard after the 76ers traded away Casper Ware in exchange for Marquis Teague, who they cut days later.
The news that the 76ers waived Teague seems to be a statement of their confidence in Shved. Shved is a combo guard who will probably see the majority of his minutes as shooting guard, but any additional responsibilities improve his chances at earning valuable court time. With starter Michael Carter-Williams (shoulder) sidelined for at least the first week, Shved holds interesting short-term potential even in standard sized leagues. Deep league managers should seriously consider using Shved as a temporary fill-in while they wait for better options to emerge off the waiver wire.

Shved (back) scored 11 points (4-7 FG, 0-3 3P, 3-5 FT) with four rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes during Wednesday's preseason game against the Hornets.
It was a decent showing, especially considering the lower back soreness that slowed him down earlier in the week, but he could have a tough time holding off Caspar Ware for a bench spot with the Sixers.

Shved (back) is a game-time decision for Monday's exhibition against the Celtics, the Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey reports.
He is dealing with lower-back soreness, but the fact that he could play Monday bodes well for his status for the start of the regular season.
Sat Oct 4 201415:02Shved (sore lower back) did not practice Saturday
Shved (sore lower back) did not practice Saturday, NBA.com's Max Rappaport reports.
This is the first we've heard of a back issue with Shved, but it doesn't sound very serious, and he should be back on the practice floor in short order.

Shved is getting some opportunities at point guard during training camp, the The Intelligencer's Tom Moore reports.
The T-Wolves dabbled with Shved as a backup point guard at times, but he always appeared to be more of a scorer than a distributor. Michael Carter-Williams has a firm hold on the majority of the minutes at the one, but Shved could be used at both guard positions off the bench.
Sat Aug 23 201413:14Shved officially traded to Sixers on Saturday
Shved was officially traded to the Sixers on Saturday, Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press reports.
Shved is essentially a throw-in in the three-team blockbuster that sends Andrew Wiggins to Minnesota and Kevin Love to Cleveland. The Russia native endured a tough 2013-14 season, shooting an unsightly 32.1 percent from the floor in 63 games. However, the Sixers have little depth in the backcourt, so the trade could be a new start for the 25-year-old, who will likely be given a chance to be a regular rotation player.

Shved will be traded to the 76ers on Saturday as part of the Cavaliers-Wolves trade involving Kevin Love, the Star Tribune reports.
With this move, Shved may have a better opportunity to see time on the court than last season (10.5 minutes per game). He'll join a cast of young unproven players in Philadelphia and could quite possibly rise in the ranks and prove to be one of their better players. That isn't necessarily saying much, but time on the court translates to fantasy value, even if the 76ers are shaping up to be one of the worst teams yet again next season.

Shved has a groin injury that is keeping him out of Russia's qualifying matches for Eurobasket. He did not play in Sunday's 79-77 loss to Switzerland.
The extent of Shved's injury is unknown. Russia generally has a good team. Timofey Mozgov and Sergey Karasev are both on their roster at the moment. It appears that the team believes Shved will be healthy enough to play when the actual tournament begins August 30.
Tue Jul 15 201416:35Alexey Shved sidelined by groin tightness
Alexey Shved will sit out the Wolves' Summer League game on Tuesday due to right groin tightness.
It's Summer League so it makes sense for Minnesota to be extra cautious, and this sounds like a minor day-to-day ailment. Shved shot 32.1 percent from the field last year and the Wolves want him to play more point guard this season, so hopefully he can quickly get back on the court with his teammates.

Tue Jul 8 201413:15Alexey Shved ready to accept point guard role
Alexey Shved said he is ready to accept his role on the Timberwolves as a point guard.
Shved saw his numbers drop across the board in his sophomore season and Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders thinks a permanent move to point guard will help restore his confidence. "The thing that I like about him is defensively," Saunders said. "He is pretty long and lanky and stays in front of his guy and probably led us in rebounding in the scrimmage." Shved won't return much value in standard fantasy leagues, but he sounds like he's ready to accept his new role with open arms. "It doesn't matter - point guard, shooting guard," said Shved. "I just want to play."

Wed Mar 26 201413:43Alexey Shved struggling with off-guard role
Wolves coach Rick Adelman said that Alexey Shved needs to learn to move without the ball.
"He has been struggling with what to do: Do I finish? Do I pass the ball?," said Adelman. "When you're not getting the minutes, it's hard ... He has to get us into things [playing backup point guard while J.J. Barea is out], and he has to have a nice balance to what he's doing." Barea is questionable for Wednesday's game, but even if he sits there's no reason to gamble on Shved in typical fantasy leagues.

Sat Feb 22 201415:07Alexey Shved will lose his mask on Saturday
Alexey Shved will not play with a mask on Saturday night.
He said he was happy about losing the mask, but it's not likely going to improve his play. Shved has regressed this year and is more trouble than he's worth in fantasy leagues.

Tue Feb 11 201400:11Alexey Shved scores 11 points in 19 minutes
Alexey Shved played 19 minutes on Monday with 11 points, one board, one assist, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers on 4-of-10 shooting.
He was hot to start, but fizzled out and missed his last four shots. Shved really can't score and is often out of control while he's attacking the basket, so it's hard to imagine him ever being consistent. He can be left on the wire despite how he could clear the 20-minutes plateau, but there is just no upside here.

Alexey Shved (nose) played with a mask on Friday, scoring seven points on 2-of-5 shooting with three rebounds and one steal in 14 minutes.
Shved is back into his backup role and has no real fantasy value.

Fri Jan 24 201421:03Alexey Shved is playing for Wolves
Alexey Shved (nose) will play against the Warriors on Friday.
He broke his nose on Tuesday and should be ready to go. Shved is sporting a larger than average mask on his face, but it probably won't hurt his production. He doesn't shoot the ball well enough to be owned in standard leagues.

Tue Jan 21 201422:35Alexey Shved breaks nose on Tuesday
Alexey Shved suffered a broken nose on Tuesday in the second quarter and will not return to the game.
Expect to see him wearing a face mask the next time he's on the court, and consider him day-to-day for now. Chase Budinger will see a boost in minutes if he's going to miss time.
