Kelly (hamstring), who has played just three preseason contests, has been ruled out of Tuesday's season opener against the Rocket, Mike Bresnahan reports.
Kelly (hamstring) saw no more than 12 minutes per game in his three preseason games and appears buried on the depth chart, regardless of his injury. When he does return, he'll be stuck behind Carlos Boozer and Julius Randle and with coach Byron Scott's aversion to three-pointers, it seems hard to rely on Kelly in fantasy leagues unless you play an extremely deep format.

Kelly (hamstring) was not able to play in Friday's preseason finale against the Kings as he continues to deal with his injury.
Kelly is still sidelined with a sore right hamstring, although the Lakers want to give him as much rest as possible before the regular season starts, so his injury isn't likely serious. The 23-year-old will be a game-time decision ahead of Tuesday's regular season opener against the Rockets and will provide relief off the bench if he ultimately is able to play.
Sun Oct 19 201416:16Kelly (hamstring) will not play against Jazz on Sunday
Kelly (hamstring) will not play against the Jazz on Sunday.
Kelly has been dealing with a sore right hamstring for the past two weeks but is apparently close to a return. Looking ahead, the second-year player may ultimately have trouble reaching the 22.2 minutes per game that he averaged last season when considering that Carlos Boozer, Julius Randle, and Ed Davis are all viable options at power forward.
Tue Oct 14 201417:05Kelly (hamstring) limited in Tuesday's practice
Kelly (hamstring) was limited in Tuesday's practice.
Kelly practiced lightly for the second straight day, and coach Byron Scott said he's unlikely to play Thursday against Utah. However, Scott indicated Sunday's rematch with the Jazz is more realistic.

Kelly (hamstring) participated lightly in Monday's practice.
Kelly has not been able to practice in full during training camp, but he's getting closer since returning to the practice floor late last week. While he's without a timetable, the reserve forward figures to be ready when the regular season opens.

Kelly (hamstring) is expected back in practice Thursday after missing all of training camp so far, InsideSoCal.com reports.
While it's good news that Kelly's hamstring injury seems fully healed, the opportunity for minutes in a crowded Lakers' frontcourt seem limited. Kelly will need to battle veterans Carlos Boozer and Ed Davis as well as lottery pick Julius Randle for minutes and is buried on the depth chart at this stage. He can be ignored in all but the deepest fantasy leagues.

Kelly (hamstring) did not play in Monday's preseason opener as expected.
Kelly should return to practice after Thursday, but his fantasy value is limited due to being stuck behind Carlos Boozer and rookie Julius Randle on the depth chart.

Kelly has been improving after straining his left hamstring at the beginning of the month and is targeting a return to practice after the Lakers' exhibition game Thursday night, the L.A. Times reports.
Kelly, who was a mild surprise last season as a second round draft choice, appears buried on the depth chart behind new acquisitions Carlos Boozer, Julius Randle, and Ed Davis and will struggle to replicate his rookie season's output, averaging 8.0 points, 0.8 three-pointers, and 3.7 rebounds per game in 22 minutes. This hamstring injury only adds to the difficulty he will face and his fantasy value is limited to deep leagues only at this stage.

Kelly suffered a moderate left hamstring strain and has now been ruled out indefinitely.
Kelly's start to his second NBA season will be put on hold while the sweet shooting big man nurses a hamstring injury. Although he's been ruled out indefinitely, the recovery time from hamstring injuries is usually tricky to project. As a result, Kelly's status will likely be revisited in a couple of weeks, at which time a more definitive timetable for his return could surface. Once healthy, Kelly will hope to earn reserve minutes at power forward, even though the presence of players like Carlos Boozer, rookie first-rounder Julius Randle, and Ed Davis could make the Lakers' frontcourt rotation difficult for Kelly to crack.
Mon Jul 21 201418:04Lakers officially sign Ryan Kelly
The Lakers officially signed Ryan Kelly on Monday.
"[Kelly] did everything we asked of him as a rookie and showed great promise and potential," said GM Mitch Kupchak. Kelly had some nice stretches for the Lakers last season, but with Carlos Boozer, Julius Randle, and Ed Davis all in town, it will be very difficult for Kelly to crack the rotation. Owners can safely ignore Kelly on draft day.

Sat Jul 19 201409:23Lakers to re-sign Ryan Kelly
The Lakers will re-sign Ryan Kelly.
It's expected to be a two-year deal and it's likely at the veteran minimum because it wouldn't affect the salary cap. The Lakers waived Kendall Marshall's contract and they may have a tough time getting him back. They likely did this so they can bid on Carlos Boozer, who would be a strange fit on the Lakers. Kelly is likely going to start the season out of the rotation.

Tue Jul 1 201410:06Jazz interested in Ryan Kelly
The Jazz have interest in restricted free agent Ryan Kelly.
There are always some curious players to pop up early in free agency and Kelly is one of them. The Jazz would be one of a handful of teams who would put Kelly in their rotation considering their lack of depth up front and how they could use a guy to stretch the floor. He's unlikely to get a deal early on unless it's below his market value.

Mon Jun 30 201401:05Lakers' SF Ryan Kelly now a restricted FA
Ryan Kelly will become a restricted free agent after receiving a $1 million qualifying offer from the Lakers.
L.A. declined to give Kent Bazemore a $1.1 million qualifying offer but they'll retain the right to match all bids for Kelly, who averaged 8.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.1 blocks in 25 minutes per game after the All-Star break as a rookie. He also made 0.9 threes per game, but it's his defensive stats which are truly eye-catching from a fantasy perspective.

Fri May 2 201414:52Ryan Kelly thinks he can perform sans Mike D.
Ryan Kelly said he still thinks he can thrive outside of coach Mike D'Antoni's system.
Perhaps no player takes a bigger hit than Kelly on paper with D'Antoni resigning this week."I think I can play in multiple styles of offenses," Kelly said. "Obviously Coach D'Antoni's is more spread out and that's what I'm going to be, more of a stretch four. But I showed the ability to handle the ball and put the ball on the floor." Even if Kelly does fit into the new coach's scheme, the Lakers getting healthy to start the year will likely push him out of the rotation to start the season.

Sat Apr 12 201402:50Ryan Kelly starts, posts solid line vs. GSW
Ryan Kelly started on Friday against the Warriors, scoring 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting with 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and two threes in 37 minutes.
There was some last minute lineup shuffling between he and Robert Sacre (four points, seven rebounds, one block, 19 minutes), but ultimately Kelly was given the nod to start and he came through like owners have pictured he might. Unfortunately, Mike D'Antoni doesn't always cooperate and Kelly is often content to let the other guys get theirs, but in this system this is the type of upside he has on any given night.

Wed Apr 9 201401:28Ryan Kelly scores 18 points in ugly loss
Ryan Kelly hit 5-of-11 shots for 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in Tuesday's blowout loss to the Rockets.
Kelly hit just 3-of11 shots on Sunday, but was much better tonight, as he got to the line and made 8-of-11 free throws. He's starting at small forward and should continue to do so until the season mercifully comes to an end.

Sun Apr 6 201414:20Marshall, Meeks, Bazemore, Kelly, Hill start
The Lakers will start Kendall Marshall, Jodie Meeks, Kent Bazemore, Ryan Kelly and Jordan Hill against the Clippers on Sunday.
In a surprising twist, this is the same lineup the Lakers used on Friday night. They only have nine active players tonight and they're really going to have a tough time putting points on the board. We'll let you know how they do following the game.

Thu Apr 3 201401:57Kelly blocks two shots on quiet night
Ryan Kelly scored just six points on 2-of-6 shooting (no threes) with five rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 28 minutes on Wednesday.
Kelly played better than the numbers suggest but watched as teammates took turns hoisting up shots in rapid fire manner. It's possible that he gets heavy run for the Lakers down the stretch, but those are the famous last words of anybody relying on unproven fantasy assets from L.A. right now.

Wed Apr 2 201420:38Ryan Kelly will start vs. the Kings
Ryan Kelly will start vs. the Kings on Wednesday.
Pau Gasol (vertigo) and Chris Kaman (calf) won't play tonight and Kelly could get some serious run. On top of the scoring chances, he's been an effective passer, which should help considering Steve Nash (ankle) is out.

Wed Apr 2 201401:37Ryan Kelly plays 30 minutes off bench
Ryan Kelly played 20 minutes off the bench against the Blazers on Tuesday with nine points, nine boards, two assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer.
It makes sense to keep Kelly in the rotation to help develop him for next season, but 20 minutes certainly isn't going to make fantasy owners run to the wire. With Pau Gasol back, we'd like to see Kelly turn in another productive game against the Kings on Wednesday.
