Wed Mar 16 202220:11Andrew Wiggins Questionable For Wednesday's Game
Golden State Warriors guard/forward Andrew Wiggins (illness) is listed as questionable ahead of Wednesday's game against the Boston Celtics due to a non-COVID illness. The illness prevented him from playing in the team's previous game against the Washington Wizards on Monday. In that game, Jonathan Kuminga and Jordan Poole were part of the starting five and both players turned in solid games. Draymond Green also returned to action in a bench role on Monday and had a good all-around performance over 20 minutes. All three of those players are worthy starters in fantasy if Wiggins remains out. If Wiggins plays, Poole is likely to take the biggest hit of the bunch.

Mon Mar 14 202221:15Andrew Wiggins Out With Illness On Monday
Golden State Warriors small forward Andrew Wiggins (illness) has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Washington Wizards due to an illness. As a result, rookie Jonathan Kuminga will join the starting five for the game. Kuminga is a strong DFS and streaming option on Monday. However, Draymond Green (back) is returning from a two-month absence in a bench role for the game. Green will be on a minutes limit of 20-to-23 minutes for the game, but he'll cut into Kuminga's minutes a bit. We'll see if Wiggins is able to get back onto the court for Wednesday's game against the Boston Celtics.

Mon Mar 14 202215:07Andrew Wiggins Earns Questionable Tag For Monday’s Game
Golden State Warriors small forward Andrew Wiggins (illness) has been deemed questionable to suit up for Monday's contest against the Wizards as he battles an illness. Wiggins has reached a recent offensive plateau, enduring a 14-game stretch without having reached the 20-point mark. With Draymond Green returning Monday, Otto Porter Jr. and Jonathan Kuminga are in line for slightly decreased minutes going forward, although the duo would benefit on the DFS slate from a Wiggins absence. Although Wiggins is on pace to shoot a career-best 40.1 percent from behind the arc this year, there is no defense in the league that yields fewer made threes on a nightly basis than Washington (10.5).

Sun Mar 6 202223:11Andrew Wiggins Ruled Out For Monday's Game Versus Denver
Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins (foot) is out for Monday's contest in Denver. Stephen Curry (hand), Gary Payton II (knee), and Klay Thompson (knee) also won't play, although these absences may have more to do with the Dubs playing its first of back-to-back outings. Nevertheless, without those guys on the floor, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Otto Porter Jr., Jordan Poole, and Jonathan Kuminga will be the favorites to pick things up on the offensive end.

Wed Feb 2 202218:02Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins Will Return Thursday
Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry (toe) and small forward Andrew Wiggins (knee) have been removed from the team's injury report ahead of Thursday's contest vs. Sacramento. Both players were sidelined for Tuesday's win over San Antonio, with their returns corralling the substantial DFS upside of Jordan Poole, Moses Moody, and Damion Lee. Curry has thrived in two prior meetings with the Kings this year, dropping 30 points on Dec. 20 and notching a double-double on Oct. 24. Wiggins will return looking to continue his stretch of 47 straight games having scored in double figures as he matches up with a Kings unit that boasts the second-worst defensive efficiency (111.9) in the league.

Tue Feb 1 202214:52Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins Will Miss Tuesday’s Contest
Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry (toe) and small forward Andrew Wiggins (knee) have been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Spurs, putting the team down four starters. The decision to hold both players out comes on the second leg of a back-to-back, after Curry dropped 40 points Monday and Wiggins scored in double figures for the 47th consecutive outing. Without either in the mix, Jordan Poole and Damion Lee vault into near must-roster territory for DFS contests. Gary Payton II and Moses Moody should see some added appeal as well, with the next chance for Curry or Wiggins to return coming Thursday vs. Sacramento.

Wed Dec 29 202108:44Andrew Wiggins Returns With 21 Points, Eight Rebounds
Golden State Warriors small forward Andrew Wiggins was back from health and safety protocols on Tuesday, notching 21 points with eight rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in a narrow loss to Denver. He shot 8-for-20 from the field and 3-for-6 from downtown. Wiggins hadn't played since Dec. 17 and he missed four games. It was a strong effort from him and he can try to replicate the performance against the Nuggets again on Thursday. Denver was an elite defensive side at the start of the season, but their defensive efficiency has slipped to 21st in the league, which makes this a nice matchup for Wiggins.

Sat Dec 18 202109:48Andrew Wiggins Scores 27 Points In Friday's Win
Golden State Warriors small forward Andrew Wiggins had a nice outing against Boston on Friday, shooting 11-for-20 from the field and 5-for-7 from downtown to finish a 111-107 victory with 27 points. He added six rebounds and two assists to his tally with one steal and one block in 36 minutes. Wiggins heated up here, but the team has sadly announced that he'll sit out Saturday's matchup against Toronto with knee soreness. Stephen Curry will be out as well for rest purposes, so DFS managers should have their eyes on Golden State's bench players who are set to carry a heavier load.

Sun Nov 14 202123:46Andrew Wiggins Scores Game-High 28 Points On Sunday
Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins scored a game-high 28 points during a 106-102 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday. The 2014-15 rookie of the year shot 12-for-19 from the field, including 3-for-7 from three-point range, and 1-for-3 from the free-throw line. Wiggins also chipped in with six boards and two assists. The 26-year-old has now scored 28 or more points in two out of the past three contests while shooting 58% from the field. Wiggins is a steady source of points, rebounds, and field goal percentage, but offers limited upside in other categories.

Sat Nov 13 202107:24Andrew Wiggins Fills Stat Sheet In Friday's Win
Golden State Warriors small forward Andrew Wiggins had a busy night against the Bulls on Friday, racking up 15 points with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in a 119-93 win. The all-around performance compensated for his poor shooting, with Wiggins finishing 0-for-4 from downtown and 5-for-15 from the field. Wiggins has been a streaky shooter all season, so getting peripheral stats out of him is always a big bonus. He closes the week with a nice matchup against the Hornets, who sit near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency. They are also ranked second in pace, which should make this one an up-tempo game.

Thu Nov 11 202113:57Andrew Wiggins Records Season-High In Points
Golden State Warriors guard Andrew Wiggins delivered a strong performance in Wednesday's win over the Timberwolves. Wiggins scored a season-high 35 points on 14-for-19 shooting from the field and 3 of 6 shooting from deep. The Kansas product knocked down both of his free throws while chipping in four rebounds and a pair of steals. Wiggins has taken a backseat to both Stephen Curry and Jordan Poole this season- as this was just his second game with 20-plus points. He'll get a middling matchup on Friday against the Bulls, so hopefully he can build on his lucrative scoring effort.

Tue Oct 26 202123:31Andrew Wiggins Records New Season-High With 21 Points
Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins hadn't cracked 17 points this season, but that changed on Tuesday in a 106-98 win over the Thunder. Wiggins saw 31 minutes and recorded a season-high 21 points with four rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a block. The 26-year old went 9-for-17 from the field but was 0-for-5 from three. It was the first time all game he didn't drain multiple deep balls, but he's still hitting 43.8 percent of his three-point attempts on the year. He averaged 19.4 and 18.6 points in his first two years with the Warriors, so this should be the start of Wiggins' slight bounce back in the scoring department. He'll look to continue it against the Grizzlies and Thunder (again) to wrap up Week 2.

Fri Oct 8 202118:28Andrew Wiggins Dealing With Knee Soreness
Golden State Warriors shooting guard/small forward Andrew Wiggins (knee) will not play in Friday's preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers. He is dealing with left knee soreness. Wiggins played in each of the team's first two preseason games. He dropped 13 points in just 16 minutes in Game 1, but shot just 1-for-4 in the same amount of minutes in Game 2. The Warriors will also be without small forward Jonathan Kuminga (patella) on Friday. Expect to see a good amount of Jordan Poole, Moses Moody and Chris Chiozza in Friday's game. Poole has been letting it fly from outside with 47 total points over the team's two preseason games.

Tue Aug 3 202109:00Fantasy Basketball Second Round Rookie Sleepers
It's funny that every year at the NBA Draft, once the end of the guaranteed money and live appearances arrives at the end of the first round, everybody tunes out and refers to the 60th pick as "Mr.Irrelevant". That's not very accurate though, is it? Speaking historically, the title of "Mr.Irrelevant" could just as easily be applied to each pick in the draft, as organizations differ greatly in their evaluation of talent and their own needs, particularly in a year without the NCAA tournament. The nickname just doesn't reflect how basketball works anymore. Executives strategically stockpile second-round draft picks for the less burdensome financial obligations, and organizations in down years get super creative to field a team on a budget. With the right situation, the right under-the-radar player can be an immediate breakout. The last few seasons alone have seen scores of second-rounders and UDFAs who wasted no time in making a name for themselves, and the increasing prominence of the G-League and other alternative paths to the pros should only keep this trending upward. We are going to discuss a handful of 2021 second-round picks and undrafted free agent signees who, given their individual skill set and circumstances, should be on the radar of Fantasy Basketball Managers heading into the season, starting today with the second-round picks.

Herbert Jones (SF, NOP, 35th Overall)

As a two-time member of the SEC All-Defensive team and the 2020-2021 SEC Defensive and straight-up POY, Herbert Jones was custom-built to take on time early with this New Orleans Pelicans squad. The 6'8, 210-lb. forward didn't even see ample PT until his final two seasons at Alabama, a time in which he consistently excelled on defense but needed plenty of work on the other end. In his last season for the prominent Crimson Tide, Jones played 27.3 minutes per game, and in that time he averaged 11.2 points, 6.6 boards, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.1 blocks, while also hitting 71.3% from the line and converting on 20 of 57 three-point attempts (35.1%).Every single figure just listed is a career-high mark for Jones, who shot just 14 of 61 from three (22.9%) and 141 of 257 from FT (54.9%) over his first three college campaigns. While NOLA has a decently thick crowd of guys who can play the two through four as FA kicks off, the wall is far from impenetrable, especially when you possess the athleticism, ability to learn quickly, and game-changing defense that Herbert Jones offers. The defense might get him on to the floor and it might even keep him there, but his burgeoning well-rounded skillset can contribute across the board if and when he gets his sniff.

Sat May 22 202120:20Curry, Warriors look forward to another chance next season
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — All along, Stephen Curry just wanted to play for something at the end after everybody counted out his Golden State Warriors from the beginning. He could only be proud when this group fell just short of the goal, appreciating how sick and saddened his teammates felt when they didn't get it done. The Warriors were eliminated from playoff contention with a 117-112 overtime loss to Memphis on Friday night in the second play-in game. That after losing a 103-100 heartbreaker to LeBron James and the Lakers two days earlier in Los Angeles. “I would love a playoff experience and seven-game series and see how we respond to that challenge. We have two — I call it three playoff games, the last game of the season and these last two play-in situations,” Curry said. "But it’s not how it’s drawn up in terms of the format, and now we have three months to rejuvenate, retool, come back next season, whatever that means. “These last three games, including the homestand, I call it nine games,... Thu May 13 202121:54Warriors sign Toscano-Anderson to multiyear deal
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Emerging from a challenging East Oakland youth when he cheered for the Golden State Warriors from a cramped house, Juan Toscano-Anderson now has that coveted contract from his hometown team. He is inspiring millions in Mexico where he played and has heritage, too. The Warriors signed the former two-way forward to a multiyear deal Thursday, also bringing back forward Jordan Bell for the remainder of the season. Toscano-Anderson has long been determined to prove he's in the NBA for the long haul, talented enough to stay put. “This is where my heart is. I’m an East Oakland kid, I’m a Warrior,” Toscano-Anderson said. “The Warriors mean everything to me and now I'm on this team, it’s a storybook, it’s a movie, I don't know, whatever you want to call it.” It was 20 years ago when teacher Wilhelmina Attles, wife of former Warriors star player and coach Al Attles, encouraged Toscano-Anderson to play basketball. This happened once he transferred schools after having a knife... [More]
Tue Nov 24 202021:02Wolves finalize deal with Knicks for veteran forward Davis
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired veteran forward Ed Davis from the New York Knicks for Jacob Evans III, Omari Spellman and a 2026 second-round draft pick in a trade finalized Tuesday. The 31-year-old Davis has played in 668 regular-season games, with 96 starts, for six NBA teams. He has averaged 6.3 points and 6.6 rebounds during his career. The 6-foot-9 Davis was drafted 13th overall in 2010 by the Toronto Raptors. He'll help fill an opening at power forward created by the departure of James Johnson in the draft-night deal that brought point guard Ricky Rubio back to the Timberwolves. Evans and Spellman played sparingly for Minnesota last season after coming with headliner D'Angelo Russell from Golden State in the trade that sent Andrew Wiggins to the Warriors. ___ More AP NBA coverage: https://apnews.com/NBA

Tue Nov 17 202005:39Warriors GM Myers faces draft challenges like no other year
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Bob Myers hears the chatter about everything riding on Golden State's draft pick at No. 2 overall. About all the pressure on his shoulders to find just the right player to join Splash Brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, star forward Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins. Someone who will make an instant impact and immediately help the Warriors return to contention and respectability following a last-place finish. All the social media speculation, oh yes, the Warriors' general manager is aware of the intrigue. Might they possibly trade away their pick for flexibility to build another super team, or will they choose to use it? “I read all that stuff, too. I was like, ‘I feel the weight,’” Myers joked on a recent Zoom call. "I feel like every year, everything you do is make-or-break, trade, draft, I don’t know. But you can’t really think like that. You’ve got to operate not out of fear. So, hopefully we get it right, and if you don’t, you deal with that. That’s the life... [More]
Fri Jun 5 202017:25After a forgettable season, Warriors ready to move forward
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — After reaching five straight NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors couldn't have foreseen such a strange, disappointing season as they debuted their snazzy new Chase Center in San Francisco. The Warriors had the worst record in the NBA at 15-50 with a roster of largely unknowns taking the court night after night.Kevin Durant had departed. Klay Thompson sat out recovering from surgery for a torn left knee ligament sustained in Game 6 of last year's finals against champion Toronto. Stephen Curry broke his left hand. Andrew Wiggins arrived and never got to showcase his star talent alongside the team's top rotation before pro sports were halted because of the coronavirus pandemic.Steve Kerr's coaching got tested like never before as he relied on rookies and young players to learn on the fly because that's all Golden State had available. Then the Warriors were one of the teams left out when the NBA’s Board of Governors approved a 22-team format for restarting the league season...
